Was talking to someone who worked in closed captioning who is now getting a new degree because so many companies are turning to AI to close caption now… Which AI is pretty shite at it still.

Kiki nods slowly as Avery explains before he pulls his forehead away. Kiki leans into his touch as he traces her blush and smiles. “I wasn’t doubting your feelings again, I promise.” She says to start, looking in his eyes. “I want to make sure I’m not overestimating you constantly.” She smirks, a tease in her tone.
Nero
Location: Boat – New York City, New York Skills: Fit
Nero sticks their tongue out at Caden with a playful glare for his joke. “Well, I’m glad we can both enjoy this for the first time.” They say, dancing in their seat as the food arrives. They had ordered biscuits and gravy along with some crepes that had chocolate and banana.
Nicholas “Nic” Wu
Location: Nic & Ren’s Apartment - Chicago, IL Skills: Fit
Ren stands up with smile and starts to gather empty plates. “I’m going to get started on dishes - let you two talk.” He takes his boba with him before disappearing inside. Nic watches him leave through the door as it closes slowly, seeing him head down the stairs.
“It’s not you, there’s something else going on.” Nic grabs both of Cass’ hands. “But you’re not leaving because otherwise I’ll follow you and then this house will never get unpacked.” He kisses her forehead before looking in her eyes. She might not have mentioned going home, but Cass always double checks to make sure she’s not interfering with him and his dad when coming over.
Kiki raises an eyebrow, looking into Avery’s eyes before frowning a little as she regards him. “And I think that you’re overestimating mine each time you call me ‘little fox’.” She answers back before kissing Avery softly.
“Does the wolf make it harder for you?” She asks after pulling away. “For your self-control, I mean.” Her hands stay on his chest as her thumbs gently rub into his skin.
Nero
Location: Boat – New York City, New York Skills: Fit
Nero nods and flashes Caden a smile, liking the idea more as they discussed it. “If only you could just fly me places without being conspicuous.” They say as their other hand plays a little with the dragon on their choker. “Have you ever been on this before? Done this whole breakfast thing?” Nero asks curiously.
Nicholas “Nic” Wu

Nic grins, his eyes shining with admiration and wonder for his girlfriend. “Sometimes I forget you can do that.” He says, leaning in to kiss Cass’ nose. “I’m definitely okay with it - it seems like we’re in need of protection now, so please, go right ahead.” He shoots his dad a look and Ren nods in agreement.
“I think protection and the bubble you mentioned would be perfect, as long as it’s not too much to ask, my dear.” Nic can’t help but notice the continuing fidgeting from his father.
Kimiko almost pouts when Avery stops the kiss, but realizes he’s right. She can’t help but concentrate on how his hand feels on her hip before she finally nods, swallowing. “Probably…” She says, but instead drags Avery by his arms as she steps back into a tree, her back pressed against the bark.
Nero
Location: Boat – New York City, New York Skills: Fit
Nero smirks, still lovingthe mystery. They order something sweet and salty off the menu along with a Bloody Mary. The server didn’t ask for ID this time, for which Nero was grateful for. They reach across the table for Caden’s hand. “Sollen wir einen Ausweis für mich besorgen, wenn wir wieder in Chicago sind?” They ask with a tilt of their head, their eyes glancing out to watch the water as they travel through it.
Should we get an identification card for me once we’re back in Chicago?
Nicholas “Nic” Wu
Location: Nic & Ren’s Apartment - Chicago, IL Skills: Fit
Nic looks over the sketches she has so far, his hand never leaving her. “I want whatever is going to be best for the plants. Somehow overhang in the Windy City seems like it might easily break them.” He says, darting a glance at his dad who ate silently. Ren stares off into the distance at nothing in particular, but Nic can practically see the gears in his head turning.
“Would building a sort of greenhouse or something help keep them safe?” Nic asks, turning his attention back to Cass and kissing her head.
Kiki feels Avery’s smile and can’t help but grin herself as they kiss. She always enjoys how his muscles feel wrapped around her, making her feel tiny even though she’s not. She pulls her other hand and cups Avery’s face, her tongue darting out to taste his lips for a moment.
Nero
Location: Boat – New York City, New York Skills: Fit
Nero can’t help but grin and shake their head at Caden. His sense of needing to surprise them makes waiting for answers adorably thrilling. They happily skip along with Caden as he leads them to a boat that has other people seated on it. Once seated, Nero excitedly wiggles, looking all around them with anticipation.
“Will they explain it or am I going to be left guessing the whole boat ride?” Nero asks of Caden.
Nicholas “Nic” Wu
Location: Nic & Ren’s Apartment - Chicago, IL Skills: Fit
Nic’s father releases Cass from his hold and just smiles pleasantly. “No, I think it’s great as is.” He tells her warmly before turning to his food.
“Something’s weird, but I don’t think it’s the tattoo. I’ll talk to him later for you.” Nic whispers in Cass’ ear before kissing her cheek. “What are you thinking planter-wise for this?” He asks brightly.
What I’m missing? “Wai-” Kiki starts to say but Avery’s pulled her close and kisses her… And she doesn’t mind being interrupted for that. She wraps her free arm around his neck and kisses him back. I’ll just have to make sure I beat him. The fox thinks to herself before tucking that thought away.
Nero
Location: Car – New York City, New York Skills: Fit
“I think I’ve taken the ferry in Chicago once? It didn’t seem to cause any issues…” Nero peers at Caden closely with narrowed eyes but also a knowing and playful smile. “Are we eating on a boat, Mein Drache?” The demon starts to wiggle in their seat.
Nicholas “Nic” Wu

Nic gives his father a look as if saying, Dad, please put my very anxious girlfriend’s nerves at ease. Ren doesn’t catch Nic’s expression, but he holds Cass’ shoulder and shows her a more appropriate smile.
“You truly did a wonderful job with it. I like it as is - would you be able to put it on my chest?”
Nic almost releases a sigh of relief - his tone was much brighter this time, more like his usual self.
Not expecting that answer, Kiki nearly trips over her own feet but catches herself quickly. She stops at a tree to lean on as she starts fully laughing. “I’m afraid you’ll find it dreadfully boring.” She says but holds out a hand towards Avery. “But deal.”
Nero
Location: Mandarin Oriental Hotel – New York City, New York Skills: Fit
Nero nods, looping their arm through Caden’s. “Yup! Let’s go.” They declare as they tug him towards the door.
Nicholas “Nic” Wu

Nic looks at the drawing and nods, liking it so far. He doesn’t notice the crease in Ren’s brow at Cass’ words or how the mention of the past and future made him fidget. Nic squeezes Cass’ hand back encouragingly. “It looks great. Personally, I like the idea of framing the fox, but what do you think, dad?” Nic asks, looking at his dad now.
“I’m not sure, but I definitely like it. Well done, Cassi.” He says, patting Cass’ shoulder with a small smile. Nic cocks an eyebrow, finding his behavior a little odd.
“Hmm,” Kiki thinks about it for a moment before grinning. “More chocolate strawberries.” She declares, choosing now to run backwards. “And if you win?” She asks.
Nero

Nero smiles with a light rosy blush from the compliment. “Kiki picked the dress.” Nero says, doing an obligatory spin for Caden. “Or, well, I didn’t see her pick it, but I didn’t so it could’ve only been her.” They chuckle.

Nic raises his eyebrows in appreciation. “Cass, this is gorgeous… You’ve captured my mom and Kiki in this… very well.” He almost touches the paper before he stops himself. “I like where the anti-possession is.” He tells her in earnest.
Ren leans in to look at the drawing as well, eyes crinkling as he looks over it with fondness. “I have to agree with Nic - this is beautifully done, Cassi.”
Kiki’s eyes shine brightly. “When we’re headed back towards the house, we should race.” She says with eagerness. Noticing Avery’s glance, she’s tempted to run backwards, but turns and faces in front of her again.

Nero beams up at him, wrapping their arms around his torso in a hug before holding the choker up to him. “Will you help clasp it, please?” They hand over the necklace and turn their back to Caden, already hopping on their feet. The two hadn’t coordinated outfits, but their palettes are similar.

Ah, that makes more sense. Nic knows his dad to be sentimental and that he probably said something heartfelt to Cass. He leans over and kisses her cheek. “Did you show your sketches to him yet? She’s been designing our tattoos for us, dad.” He grabs some butter and spreads it on his toast.
Kiki sticks her tongue out at Avery with a chuckle. “How fast are you on two legs?” She asks him with an eyebrow cocked. She starts running sideways to better look at him, adept at dodging most obstacles.
Nero

Nero’s shower is quick, especially since they didn’t wash their hair. They get dressed, slipping on some platform shoes that matched the outfit. They pick up the two dragon necklaces and turn to Caden. “Do you think this will go with my dress?” They ask in earnest before eyeing Caden’s choice of clothes.
“You can’t look good in light colors too, that’s unfair.” Nero teases with appreciation.

Nic raises an eyebrow at Cass, who seems to be otherwise occupied. He steps inside for a moment and comes back with the other three drinks and offers his dad the piña-colada flavored one, knowing how Ren likes his pineapples and coconuts.
“What did I miss?” Nic asks as he sits down between his dad and girlfriend. Under the table, he pats Cass’ leg in a comforting manner.
