@Lord Wraith I think Drago is going with the old man shtick of never getting the names right, lol

I actually meant to write Atticus.

I don't know why I'm so bad with names only in this RP when I'm writing up posts.

Lionel sneered at Dorothy's faux-sweet suggestion. Those sorts of passive-aggressive quips had always pissed him off. What, are you to jī fènbiàn to come out and state your real opinion? Or is it just that you want to preserve your image so badly that you'll resort to shallow non-attacks rather than taking a hard-line stance? But if growing up in a Core Planet, and making your way up through the echelons of society from the bottom did one thing, it gave you thick skin towards such assaults. At corporate or bourgeoisie parties, such insults were more common than after dinner mints.

However, when the comms went off, his face changed from irascible to something sterner, harder. He took his hand off the bottler and shifted his body forward in his chair, but didn't do much else visibly. He didn't head off with Daphne and Gideon to the commotion. He was a terrible shot and having a 50 year old man like him in a firefight would only serve to hinder the crew of the Vengeance. No, he would stay on the ship. If any cocksucker showed up here, they would have to work in his range, up close and personal. When Dorothy left, he got up out of his chair and pulled out his Knife. He moved closer to hear what was going on, but was greeted by a lot of indistinguishable gunfire.

Well looks like it was a smarter idea to stay on the ship than he thought.

Mali sneered at the phone, as if that would somehow transmit from through the screen to the landlord. Fucking hell, she just thought he should know when somebody breaks into his apartment complex. Next time she wouldn't tell him about this kind of shit. Still he did give two names of people that could possibly help. If she remembered correctly, Cecily was the forensic lady who acted first once Danica's body crashed the party, and Cooper was a cop and an asshole with a motorcycle. Maybe the partner of the old detective considering how other officers reacted to him. She ruled out Cecily because a few B&Es was not something she was equipped to deal with. Joseph on the other hand was probably a much better choice to go to, but he was also an asshole with a motorcycle. Then again, at least he didn't appear to be a gun-crazed psychopath like The Cortez Family.

So that brought her mental list of people to consult to a grand total of 4 people (in order of preference from Greatest to least: Joseph, Alicia, Lorna, Caesar). Whatever the case, she wouldn't be able to talk to any of them until after they got off work. She resolved to keep an eye out for one of them. Yawning, she made her way back up to her apartment to continue unpacking. If something did end up being taken, she would figure out eventually, and sitting around stressing about this wouldn't change the fact that she was still living in a maze of boxes rather than an apartment. Once she got back in, she opened up the blinds, letting in all kinds of light and heat from the outside, but also offered a nice view of the streets.

Oddly enough, she forgot that she left her laptop on, and it was still playing music. At this rate it would lose the rest of its charge in like half an hour. When she bent over to pick up the charger cord from the ground, the Relic business card dropped out of her pocket. Like fate was trying to get her to call the damn number already. She had decided not to call it previously, but it had been popping up constantly all day. If one more fucked up thing ended up happening today she would call, but for now, she shove the thing right back in her pocket. Out of sight, out of mind, right?

Aside from the cops everywhere, the complex was more or less abandoned right now. A police officer or two would ask her who she is or what she's doing here, to which they received the curt answer of, "I live here. Fuck off." Normally, it would make sense to trying breaking into one of these apartments if you were looking for potential quick cash. Especially if you'd been casing the place for awhile. However, today of all days would be the worst day to try some shit like this. Even with the laziness and incompetence of the Justice Law Enforcement division, trying to break into not just one, but four different apartments given that there was enough Heat to bake a turkey.

Well whatever, what was important now was to get tell the Landlord about this shit. Mali pulled out her phone and took pictures of the damage/crime scene as best as she could before dialing his number. And as luck would have it, she got the voicemail. Whatever, he would get the information either way.

"Hey, this is Mali from Apartment 2B. My apartment's been broken into from the rear window. I'm pretty sure nothing was stolen, but whoever did it went through all my belongings. There's also signs of attempted break-ins on the ground and top floors of the Rose Building and on the third floor of the Classic Building. But it only looks like mine was actually entered forcefully. I've taken pictures and will send them to you after I hang up." A few button presses later and the best pics of the crime scene were sent. Now all that was left to do was go back to the apartment and continue unpacking.

Sigh.
I'm aware that I'm on Day 6. Will have a post tomorrow morning at the latest.
Roger was actually somewhat surprised that he was able to kill one of the Cruxi troops so easily. It wasn't the kind of surprised that you got when you open the front door to your home and find out that your sister threw you a birthday party that 30 people actually bothered coming to, but the surprise of finding $20 in between your couch cushions while trying to find your phone because you're pretty sure your dad's having a heart attack and you need to get an ambulance over quickly. Still, he managed to do exactly what he was attempting to do, get their attention. And now that he had it, it was time to skedaddle.

They only got to fire a couple times before Roger and Yeager were long gone, but the burning sensation on his elbow told him that they had gotten in at least one hit on him. He stopped and turned back around to face the squad again. He wasn't exactly in a "flanking position," but he was still within firing range, and he had allies on their opposite side, so tactically speaking, he did have the edge here. Another thing he noticed was that Magus was still kicking, even if punching was more or less out of the question. He had been pretty sure it was shot down. Perhaps a regroup with him would help the situation a bit more. Roger aimed his machinegun at the Tentacle Beast (hey, it worked before, might as well keep doing it.) and opened fire on it before moving forward to meet up with Daniel.

"I've got your back as well," he told him, opening up a private chat there, unsure if his communications were still working.
