Bio

I'm EchoicChamber, though I mostly go by Echo.
I'm twenty two years old, have a tendency to scream into the void, and mostly just hang around and do my own thing. That isn't to say that I don't enjoy roleplaying, though; I'm a big fan of the supernatural/fantasy genre, horror, and superheroes. I tend to avoid RPs where there's no fantastical elements, though there are times where I step outside of my comfort zone.
I reuse characters habitually across canons, and while I try to devote time to roleplay, work and real life cuts back on how much I can write in the best of times.
Yep.

The OOC can be found here!

I'll probably add more to it and pretty it up, but for now, there's a base forum to get us started.

Superheroes. Nasty, bothersome things, the whole lot of them. It seems like every other day a new, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed young super makes the news, having saved the day with their marketable powerset and a winning smile. And with the sheer number of heroes that were popping left and right out of the woodwork, it would only stand to reason that a school would be constructed to teach these up-and-coming stars. To guide them in learning how to control their powers. To teach them that something something great responsibility yadda yadda. And, most importantly, to polish their public image to a shine. One superhero school became two, which became seven, and the numbers only continued to explode from there until it seemed like everywhere you looked there was one of those damned academies around the corner.

This is a story about a school. A school for only the most prestigious, the most intelligent, the most powerful. The ones with the most potential to take the future in their hands, and shape it to their own liking.

Oh, no. It's not one of those horrid "Mrs. Goody Two Shoes' School for Precious Angels" institutes, don't get us wrong. This is a story of the other side of the coin. With all those hero highs out there, it only stands to reason that there would be schools for the opposite, wouldn't there? Schools for not only villains, but super villains. A place where any blossoming evil genius or aspiring anarchist could go to hone their talents, and one day, potentially be the next great ruler of the world.

The Lanius School of Villainy and Mischief is one of, if not the most impressive academies for young villains out there. Staffed by some of the most famous villains, and offering ample opportunity for shadowing and field work, it's the perfect place to pick up truly diabolical knowledge, and learn how to apply it in a practical fashion. The school caters to what it refers to as the Four S's- Suavity, Smarts, Strength, and Stealth- and offers faculties catering to all groups. Competition is fierce, and students are encourage to form rivalries and squabble over top positions and valuable mentorships.

Today is the mark of a new school year. Students of all ages and all specialties are arriving, while those who have seniority are merely rolling their eyes and going back to whatever it is that they're busy with. Will you find new enemies this semester? Rise to the top position? Perhaps, even, make genuine emotional connections and warm memories that will last a lifetime, and then-

Ha! What a joke. Villains don't make friends.

...Or do they?

Hello, everyone! I'm Echo, your hopeful GM for this roleplay based around chaos, hijinks, and the occasional murder. This is a highly character-focused roleplay, and I encourage people to come forth with whatever wild and downright ridiculous ideas they have: both plot and character-wise. There will, of course, be underlying plot threads to help nudge things along, but the main focus will be upon what players have to bring to the table. The environment is intended to be a relaxed one, as well. I expect more than just a couple of lines in a post, and at least enough to give people something to reply to, but other than that I don't aim to put much pressure.

With that said, however, there are a couple of rules to keep things on track.

1. Please be courteous to your fellow players! A set of characters may be at each other's throat, but that shouldn't carry on into OOC.

2. Character pictures are not required, but highly recommended. There's no real rule about the picture you want to use, either. Drawings, anime faceclaims, and so on are all acceptable. I know how difficult it can be to find a fitting picture for your character, so if you find something that works, then go for it.

3. You can have as many characters as you can handle.

4. If you're unsure about contributing something lore/plot wise or anything, feel free to ask! I'm going to be pretty lax about things, but there may be some things that clash, and I'm happy to help work things out.

5. No GMing, PPing, Mary Sues, claiming things that didn't happen in canon, etc.

6. There’s no posting order, but I would appreciate if you could wait for at least two posts after your most recent before posting again, with some exceptions.

7. I would appreciate it if you told us beforehand that you were leaving, or that you are considering leaving, before you do. It's very inconvenient to patch things up after a character's sudden disappearance. I understand that life comes up, or that you might just lose interest, and that's okay.

8. Please check the OOC often for updates on dorm mates, school events, general RP related topics, etc.

9. Have fun!

Much like a certain school in a wizarding series that shall not be named, there are four divisions that students can fall under. Unlike that certain school in a wizarding series that shall not be named, these groups are focused on their skillsets. A student's designation decides what types of classes they take, who they shadow, what career they may pursue in the future, etcetera. The divisions are known as The Four S's of Lanius:

Students under the banner of Strength are...well. Strong. Whether it's through muscle, supernatural ability, or just a preference to use brute force to solve your problems instead of wit and tactics, Strength favors those with raw power, and teaches them how to best hone that power to a razor edge. Many well known anarchists and juggernauts have resulted from this program, along with top-rated supervillains who simply think that, when faced with a locked door, it's a lot easier to just kick it open than try and find the key.

The charmers. The diplomats. When you think of the villain that can easily talk their nemesis to a breaking point, destroying them without raising a finger, you're thinking of a perfect case study for the Suavity division. Suave students are natural-born leaders, swaying followers into doing their bidding, and painting their rivals as the real villains. Some Suave students aim a bit lower, and prefer to stick to charming on a smaller scale, but the Lanius school encourages its students to shoot for the stars.

The nerds. Your evil geniuses and mad scientists can be found here, constructing doomsday machines, mechas, or genetic experiments. These students are highly intelligent by principle, and, while they may have other perks or powers that give them a little help in their department, their true strength lies in their know-how and knowledge. Some well known Smart students are members of prosperous companies, pumping out weapons and gadgets, while others are happily creating crimes against humanity. Different strokes for different folks, of course.

If you roll high in dexterity, you may belong here. Spies, assassins, serial killers, and anyone who prefers to work in the shadows have come about from this program, and welcome those who know the value of being able to sneak about. To go back upon the door metaphor, where Strength students will break the door down, Stealth students might pick a pocket to get the key, pick the lock itself, or climb through a window. Given their focus, many top Stealth users are anonymous, but some are known for the power that they wield out of public eye.

It looks like we've got a fair amount of interest out of the gate, then! I'll get to work making the actual OOC soon. (:

Greetings, everyone! I'm Echo, coming back from a hiatus to bring out a brand new interest check.

This roleplay centers around the Lanius School of Villainy and Mischief, by villains, for villains. If you have an antagonist idea you've been dying to try, this is the place to do it. Do you have a serious villain who wishes to destroy civilization, and is willing to toss aside their morals to do so? Is your villain a card-carrying ham who wants to twirl their mustache and cause chaos for the fun of it? Are they a baby serial killer? An evil genius? Someone who has no idea what's going on, but is very, very strong and very exploitable? Then this is the roleplay for you!

I'm hoping to create a lax, laidback atmosphere with this RP. I'm not going to demand pages upon pages of writing for a single post, so as long as you write more than a few lines, and give enough for characters to react and respond to, it'll be good. This RP will also be heavily character and character-dynamic driven, and will encourage people to come forward with their own ideas and really go out there in terms of content. There will be some underlying plotlines, but the main focus is upon the characters themselves.

If you have any questions, let me know! I hope that you'll join us for this mass of insanity.
Hello! I'm also interested.
