Location: King's Academy Campus Quad
Interacting with: The Trio

Monday's school lunch consisted of the usual flavorless entrees that the King's Academy lunch ladies served to the student body every day. On Chanel's lunch tray in particular was a small cup of cold fish sticks, another cup of soggy and unsalted french fries, and a bottle of room temperature, raspberry flavored sparkling water. Even the ketchup that Chanel drowned her meal in didn't help it taste any better. "Trust me when I say that I love Michelle Obama," Chanel suddenly spoke up to the other young women who sat at their usual table. "But what the fuck was she thinking? I mean, I'd kill for a soda machine in this place... or salt packets. Or maybe even a bag of Hot Cheetos that aren't baked."

Although it had been a couple of days since Kavi Salvador's party, Chanel still felt a little off. I mean, who wouldn't after spending their entire Sunday morning puking up the contents of their stomach? Getting drunk and partying with friends had always been fun for Chanel. But it was the aftermath of said drinking that sometimes made her wish that she hadn't left her house at all. "God, how am I gonna get through practice and dance class this afternoon?" The young woman groaned to her friends as she took a reluctant bite from her ketchup coated fishstick. "No funny, but I feel like I'm slowly dying. And I don't think this food is helping me out." Okay, sure. Maybe she was being a little dramatic, but when had Chanel ever been one to not express how she was feeling?

"It's whatever though," the young woman said after finally giving up on her lunch and pushing the tray away from her. "I'm pretty sure we all feel a bit... off after what all happened on Saturday. Right? Shit was wild."

an @Ejected and @ineffable Collaboration
Featuring Matthew Young and Valentina Castro

Matt was just about to head out of the bathroom when he heard the sing songy voice of his best friend ring out into the room. Instantly, a smile broke onto his face as he walked out into the room and made his way to Valentina’s bed, where she was currently sprawled out. Taking a seat on the comfy mattress next to her, Matt used his hand to roll her over so she was facing him. “I decided not to go on the party bus, or whatever Rachel wants to call that monstrous occasion.” He shook his head as he let out a snort. “I took a horrible boat ride here, which just served to make me nostalgic and bloody sea sick, both of which obviously does not bode well for me.”

He looked out to the side for a second before he made a face, watching Valentina describe the drinks at the bar.

“Tiny, you know that’s not my style man. Fruity drinks are a bit too…” Matt made a vague gesture with his hands, mimicking a small explosion before he shifted so that he was practically scooching her off the bed.

"Hey, quit it! I'll have you laid out on this floor, dude." Valentina said with a loud chuckle as she scooted over, nudging her friend back over so that she took up the majority of the mattress space. "And the party bus was not so bad. Probably not nearly as bad as your little boat ride. And as for the fruity drink thing, it's not my style either, you know. But we're in fuckin' paradise right now, man. Might as well try something new while we're here, right? Shake things up a bit."

“Well, what do you want to do? I’d be more than happy just to sit on the sand and enjoy the nice summer breeze but I know that that’s not in our agenda.”

"You know me well," Valentina said with a wide grin as her mind began to wander. Fortunately for them, the very first official event wouldn't start for another couple of hours, which gave them more than enough time to either explore the island or do whatever they wanted in the meantime. But the more Valentina thought about it, the more appealing the idea of hanging out on the beach became. At least, it did once she finally remembered what she'd brought along for the trip.

"You know what, Matty? I think you had the right idea all along," Tina said as she suddenly sat up in bed and reached for her nearest suitcase. "Sitting in the sand... enjoying the breeze... and..." But before she even bothered finishing her sentence, she produced two Super Soaker water guns from her bag. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"

Matt grinned widely as he snatched one of the water guns from her and took off running out of the door, pounding onto the wooden walkway leading to the cabanas and dropping off onto the sandy shoreline near the makeshift bar that sat in the corner of the tent. He knew he looked like an idiot but looking like an idiot was a small price to pay in order to stir up some long awaited fun.

Peeking over his shoulder, he gave the bar idlers and other bonfire attendees a wink and a smile before he dashed out of sight of the trail leading to the cabanas, choosing instead to hide behind a bush and wait for Valentina to come looking for him.

Momentarily caught off guard, it took Valentina a couple of seconds to grab her own water gun, as well as a couple of others, and go sprinting out of the cabana in pursuit of Matt. "Wait!!" She screamed before realizing that the boy had already disappeared. Soon, she found herself passing by the bar, and she simply dropped the spare guns on the floor and made a beckoning arm motion to whomever wanted to join the two of them. She then turned on her heel and began her search for the elusive Matthew Young. With her finger on the trigger and her hand on the pump, Tina slowly made her way down away from the bar. It wasn't until after she was being sprayed with water that she realized where her friend had been hiding out.

”GOTCHA!” Matt shouted out gleefully as he emerged from behind the bush, pushing as hard as he could on the water gun trigger and watching as it spouted out fountains of water on his dear friend. As he pumped the water gun a final, fatal time he watched as it depleted a tiny spurt of water. Looks like he’d have to reload….

Matt gestured to his water gun with one hand and shrugged at Valentina as he raced off towards the beach, intent on filling his water gun with the salty seawater so it added for an extra kick when it hit someone’s face. Sure, it was nasty and mean but he knew that Valentina would like the competition.

”Do you want to catch up…Tiny?”

Still a bit shaken up from the unexpected blast of cold water, it took Tina a few moments to get herself together and chase after Matt. "I'm gonna fucking kill you, Matty!" The girl shouted playfully as she shot her own water gun, only barely hitting the young man on his back. It wasn't long before her own gun had run low and she had stop to do the same as her friend. As she approached the water and stooped down to refill, she couldn't help but wonder if any of the other bonfire attendees would bother joining in on their antics. But a quick glance in the distance after filling her gun gave her the answer to this question.

"Oh shit, Matt. Run!"

To be quite honest, Tommy Patrick had initially been in a pretty shitty mood, stemming from when she'd first arrived at the manor by shuttle and had been thoroughly searched by the security personnel. She'd watched with wide eyes as her beloved baggie of Sativa hash had been taken away with the promise of being returned at a later date. "Jeez," the young woman had said to no one in particular as she was ushered past the gardens and towards the entrance, "What is this, a Supermax? I haven't been through anything like that since I last visited my Uncle Charles up in that one prison in Brooklyn." The person who stood nearest her simply shot Tommy a confused expression before continuing on. She'd lost her attitude almost immediately, however, when she'd finally been escorted through a pair of ornate double doors and into a large circular room.

The very first thing to catch Tommy's eye as she entered the room was the expensive-looking, crystal chandelier that cast a warm glow of diffused light onto the guests that stood below it. But the second thing that Tommy noticed was just how under-dressed she seemed to be compared to some of the other guests. As she carefully adjusted the settings of her earpiece, the young woman couldn't help but stare in awe at the beautiful gowns and nicely tailored suits that wore their owners. The only thing that eased her mind a bit was realizing that the majority of them appeared to be just as nervous and uncomfortable as she was; so much so that they probably wouldn't even care about the fact that she'd worn one of her old pantsuits and a pair of flats rather than some fancy cocktail dress.

Soon, Tommy had finally spotted where they were keeping the alcohol. The sharply-dressed bartender offered her a warm smile as she approached. Quite a few people had already gathered at the bar; Tommy had arrived in just enough time to hear someone nearby order a Whiskey neat. "I think I'll take the same as the guy over there," Tommy said with a shrug, "Whiskey. Neat."

While Tommy had been smoking pot since her high school years, the young woman had never really been much of a drinker unlike the majority of the kids her age. She hated the taste of a lot of the stuff, and only ever drank it when she knew that she needed to relax. And for this reason, Tommy simply copied the other man's order instead of ordering something she'd had in the past; she was still trying to figure out what her "signature drink" was. Maybe it would be Whiskey? "Thanks a bunch," Tommy said with a wide grin when the bartender returned with her drink. The young woman then mentally braced herself before taking a cautious sip from the glass.

The taste of the drink wasn't nearly as bad as Tommy thought the smell to be. In fact, it wasn't bad at all. As Tommy took another few sips, all she could think about was how she couldn't wait to tell her girl back home about her newest adventure.

Chanel | Aaliyah | Julie

Still floating alone in the middle of the pool Julie blinked the last of her tears out of her eyes. Just as she was in the final stages of her shame spiral, two cannonballs broke the still surface of the water. The redhead splashed about in her state of shock as she turned around in the pool to see what had made the commotion. When she saw that it was her favorite girls a small smile spread across Julie’s mouth that she was hiding under the surface of the water.

“I’m sorry if I scared you guys… I just..” she didn’t really know how to end that sentence. What had she been doing? She was the one who had initiated the weird cat and mouse game with Reli. She was the one who had kissed that big hulking football player and yet, when Reli had left with someone that wasn’t her something had broken inside her. “I don’t know, I just hate men. I’ll just stick with you guys from now on.” she stated and wrapped her arms around Chanel’s neck and floated behind her and rested her chin on her best friends shoulder.

A knowing half-smile appeared on Chanel's lips as she patted Julie's hands with her own. "Girl, join the club," she said with a chuckle. As someone who's had her fair share of being disappointed by the men of King's, Chanel wasn't at all hesitant to speak her truth. "Men are useless. But why even stress over them when you've got your best friends... right Aaliyah? I mean, I don't know many men that would jump into a pool and risk fucking up their makeup just to make sure their girl is okay."

Having jumped so recklessly into the pool left her without thinking about the consequences. The water was so cold and sent rows of goosebumps up and down her spine. Trying not to drown and puke at the same time was something only champions could do or well just Aaliyah in this moment. She surfaced to see Julie enveloping Chanel in quite the loving embrace. Her make up had been undone and began to make a runny mess across her face, only furthering her transition into an undead monster. Best friends?” the thought of them considering her as such kinda sorta blew her mind, but she was too drunk to really obsess over it. “Yeah who needs them? To tell you the truth I’m not very good with guys. I’m like 0-2 for them,” she said, holding up both hands to mimic her record, quickly forgetting she needed to use them to stay afloat.

Julie giggled as the two girls made her feel better. But just as she was about to thank them both, the music cut off and a familiar voice could be heard coming out from the outside speakers. Eyes widening when she heard April's announcement Julie's gaze shifted from Aaliyah to Chanel. "We should probably do some damage control…" she said as she swam to the edge of the pool and hoisted herself up. Dripping wet she looked around for her dress and hastily put it back on soaking the fabric. “Come on! We need to find her. Her idiot boyfriend is probably behind all of this!” she exclaimed as she hastily put on her heels wobbling as she rushed inside the house again. Julie’s dress kept slipping of her shoulder exposing her pale wet skin.

Chanel hurriedly began to follow suit; she couldn't help but cringe as she slipped her costume back on. "Yeah, this is definitely not being worn again," the young woman said as she slapped the cowboy hat on top of her damp braids and sped through the door. Her mind momentarily drifted away from her ruined outfit, however, when the familiar, dopey voice yelled in their direction.

“Woah Jules, if you wanted me that bad we could’ve just continued where we left of back there!” Joshua catcalled from the drinks table.

Julie responded only by raising her hand flipping him off as she pushed through the crowd, craning her neck trying to spot their friend. Chanel threw up a similar gesture in the boy's direction before falling back in step with Julie and Aaliyah. "Okay so, we know she isn't by the liquor table... and after the announcement she just made, I don't think she'd be up for dancing with everyone. That doesn't leave us much ground to cover, right?"

Just as she was gaining her bearings, April had other plans for PBR’s Varsity swim team. In synchronization Jules jumped out of the pool, dressing herself, and running towards the center of the commotion. Chanel followed suit which only left one thing for Aaliyah to do, follow. Floundering out of the pool, Aaliyah rushed as best as she could into her dress in dismay knowing her mother was going to kill her for this. Her heels did no favors to her as having wet feet made them even harder to walk in. Following the trend her friends set, Aaliyah flipped off the boy in her haste to make it to April with the rest of them. “Uh well usually in the movies when people split up, they die so it’s up to you guys. She’s probably going after Santiago or maybe with Kavi?”

But almost as soon as those words had left Aaliyah’s mouth, an angry looking Ariel came storming down the stairs, tears streaming down her face. Chanel watched the girl disappear into the crowd before shooting her friends a confused expression. "I'm gonna assume that whatever... that was means that she isn't with Kavi at the moment. So let's go with Santiago; we find him, and we just might find her. No need to split up."

And so, the three girls continued the search for their friend; But after covering the majority of the downstairs area and taking a quick peek upstairs, Chanel couldn't help but feel defeated. Not only did she begin to feel slightly nauseous from the alcohol and late night swimming combo, but the wet clothing that clung to her body had caused her to grow increasingly uncomfortable as time went on. After a while, Chanel finally just turned to her friends and let out a frustrated sigh. "You know what? Why don't we just go back to Julie's and call it a night? I need to get out of these clothes and get them into the dryer... and I'm sure you two feel the same way. We can just text April and tell her to meet us there."

Hell really did hath no fury like a woman scorned. A storm or anger and tears stomped passed them managing to captivate the other three with the same look of confusion. Unable to lighten the mood Aaliyah just turned to face the other two. “Yeah good plan, I don’t know about y’all but I wasn’t trying to die first” she said with a breath of relief, quickly making her way up the stairs in search of Santiago after finding no trace down below. What felt like a century in soaked clothes and nipping drowsiness from the alcohol left the trio to call it a night. The taste of defeat was almost as bitter as those shots she threw back, “I mean she has to go home, eventually right? I need a hot shower after tonight.”

Interacting With: Matt Young
As far as Valentina Castro was concerned, her Summer vacation had officially started the moment she'd boarded her flight to The Maldives. Throughout the duration of her 20 hour plane trip, the young woman helped herself to multiple Mai Tai cocktails; she'd made sure to pop a few Asprin and stay hydrated, however, to avoid feeling like absolute shit whenever she finally reached her destination. Three full "Hot Girl Summer" playlists later, she'd finally touched down in the small South Asian country. And after impatiently making her way through security and baggage claim, Tina was finally directed to her seat upon a packed double-decker bus. A quick scan of her section of the bus told her that her best friend, Matt Young, was not one of the passengers. Tina couldn't help but wonder just what he was up to as the bus pulled away from the curb and began its journey to the pier.

Unlike the majority of those on the bus, Tina wasn't really in a partying mood. Even when the bus had finally come to a stop and they were all transported to a ferry, all the young woman wanted to do was stretch out across a cozy bed and take the world's longest nap. After all, even party animals need their beauty rest, and she didn't get very much of it on the plane ride over. In fact, Tina had almost dozed off completely when the ferry docked at the Carnation Island pier. After having known Rachel Ashford for going on three years, Valentina wasn't surprised in the slightest to find that the young woman had gone all out for the bonfire party. And by all out, she really meant all out. Not that she was complaining.

Soon, Valentina found herself being handed a packet which contained a key card to her cabana, as well as a map of the island and an invitation to the bonfire party. She was actually on her way to the cabana when she caught sight of the bar and instantly perked back up.

Completely disregarding that fact that she had yet to drop her things off in the cabana, Tina made a beeline for the bar and ordered herself another drink. The young woman had just finished her second glass when more people had begun to arrive. She then hurriedly recollected her things, left a tip on her table, and began to briskly walk to her cabana so that she could freshen up before having to socialize with any of the good-looking guest.

Tina was only slightly surprised to see that Matt had arrived before she did. After pulling the door shut behind her, the young woman cleared her throat before making her presence known. "Oh Mattyyy," she called out in a singsong voice, "Your favorite person in the whole wide world is finally here!" As Tina spoke, she made her way to an unoccupied bedroom and let her bags fall to the floor. Within seconds, she was sprawled out across the bed, her face buried deep in one of the pillows. "Missed you on the party bus and ferry," she said, her voice muffled. "Have you been down to the bar yet, though? You know I usually just like hard shit on the rocks... but those fruity drinks are banging."

"You have to go through the falling down in order to learn to walk.
It helps to know that you can survive it. That's an education in itself."
