Arus ceased his scribbling for a moment when the pigman sat next to him and merely remained motionless waiting for it to speak. His face remained impassive at hearing of Va'Gaji's death and when the pigman gave him thanks Arus gave him a grateful smile. It was nice to know that his work wasn't unappreciated. If not for the cries of the wounded and the knowledge that they could be attacked again at any time he would've been content. He was about to begin writing again when his glimpsed a figure move from the command tent into the woods. Arus's first thought was that it was merely a trip to the latrines but it was going in the wrong direction. Frowning he set down his writing tools, lightly touched his sword to make sure it was still on his belt and began following the figure. Not in any particular hurry, but making sure that he would keep the figure in sight.

Alexander cried out in pain as the pincer sank into his chest because he had been unable to retreat fast enough. He was forced to watch as the monster prepared to finish him off its corrosive mucus. Then the hunter with the strange weapon he'd seen earlier jumped in and beat off the beast with remarkable strength until was also thrown off. Alexander struggled to stand up futilely, Larion seeing his distress quickly bounded over and arrived at the same time Sapphire did.

Together, with Sapphire's impressive distraction they managed to get Alexander mostly out of danger. As Sapphire tore her cloak to stop the bleeding Alexander managed to cough out his thanks. "Thanks, not sure if I could've held out for a hole lot longer."

The weak quip was all he could manage at the moment and it helped him not focus on the stab in his chest. Hopefully that mandible didn't have any sort of toxin or poison on it. On a more serious note he said, "Please help Imgor kill that thing, Larion will do whatever you ask." the last part of that statement was aimed at Larion and the Iron-back nodded while whining worriedly. They couldn't leave that monster alive to savage any innocent travelers who happened to come by. He coughed up some more blood and applied pressure to his chest as best he could as he waited, hoping that the beast could at least be driven off quickly. If it came over here... well, hopefully it wouldn't.

Clearly he believed in honor, but he wondered what situation would force a knight to turn against his king. "As for my own purpose, I'm simply more curious than anything else." he said clearly, it was true more or less.

Shinon frowned, "Incompetent fool may be too strong of words. He could still be a danger to defenseless travelers and given time he might amass an army of sufficient danger to cause a threat. We should take care of him now." Shinon said confidently, he felt good after destroying the zombies. They could leave but he didn't feel comfortable leaving a danger to innocents behind him. Besides, perhaps he would have some more credit with the collage if he could tell them he had helped dispatch a Necromancer.
