Eldarin felt a single moment of utter dread as his blade clanged uselessly against the armor and only had a time for a single thought. Oops. Then he felt the blade cut into his light chain-mail, the fairly weak armor providing little protection against the un-natural force behind the swing. Eldarin spent another half-moment considering what to do. He could back out and try to figure out what to do from here, but he would slowly lose more and more blood, weakening as the monster drew in on him. His only real choice was to press on. In addition there was the faint hope that Vane would help him. Now committed to his cause Eldarin drew as much power as he could into his shield hand, an orb of flame swelling up in it. Even as it reached its full size Eldarin, still practically hugging Legion, roared senselessly and slammed the flame into Legion's head, hoping that it would have effect. If not Eldarin would be sure to suffer the full force of its return strike.
