Meesei did not especially relish the thought of leaving Harriet when she was in such an emotional state, but Lorag and the other guards were there to keep watch over her. Lorag had shown the capability to fight her on his own, so with the help of the guards, Meesei doubted she would try anything.

As soon as Meesei entered the room with Sabine and Carana, she could see the state that Sabine was in. This test was weighing heavily on Sabine's mind, and while Meesei did not fully understand all of the dangers herself, she knew Sabine well enough to know to take them seriously. She met Sabine's eye contact with a short hug, trying to, just for a moment, get her mind off of the task.

When Meesei finally began to speak, her tone was caring, but unmistakably serious. "Sabine, what I am about to ask is very important. This test, it will give results that I would like to know, but by no means is this vital to the investigation. Even without testing the contents, the vial is usable evidence. If, at any point during this test, you feel that you are in danger, I want you to do anything you can to ensure you an Carana remain safe, even if it means abandoning the test. I want no one else to be harmed by this vile toxin. My question is can you ensure your safety? Please, be entirely truthful. I do not want you to take any risks for this, no matter how much you think it will help. If you do not believe you will be able to get out of harm's way if something goes wrong, then we will not do the test."
(Sorry, been away all day). I still think collabs are the best option for conversations, as it allows for a more flowing conversation without feeling compelled to add other fluff to give the post a decent length. For other things, though, I suppose it isn't much of a difference not to use one.
It takes no more time than if all the posts were separate. It means the final result doesn't go up until the end, which does lend to the perception that it takes longer. It does, however, allow things to flow better, especially conversation.
Hey Konan, Free, do you think we should make a short collab to wrap up things at the bandit camp?
"I am going nowhere, Harriet. At least, not permanently. If you do not wish to cooperate to build your case, that is your choice, but you are not in command of me. There is one more matter I must attend to before retiring for the night, but I will be coming back here." Meesei said calmly, but firmly. She stored away the rag, making sure to keep it separate from the vial. Likely, the rag itself would not be too useful as evidence, as it would undoubtedly pick up more scents, but she had more than enough witnesses that it did in fact hold Harriet's scent.

Meesei turned her attention to the others as she continued. "It is late, and it would be wise to be well-rested for the next few days. We will stay to the plan we made. We will rotate shifts for keeping watch, with at least two of us up at all times. If anything goes wrong, make sure to alert everyone immediately." She reiterated. Unless Harriet had any objections to Meesei's answer, she was about to go back to Sabine to allow her to begin her test. She did have one additional request to make of Sabine, though she doubted it was anything for which she would have to make any more safety precautions.

Being that she had little else to do, Sirka followed Sai to the cargo hold. Compared to the other rooms she saw, it had a bit more in the way of living space, so she might actually prefer it. Of course, the beds would still be annoyingly small, but that was to be expected at this point. If this employer did end up offering them multiple jobs after this, then that would be something she would deal with. Until then, she wouldn't even need a room of her own. After all, it wasn't going to be long before they reached their destination.

Sirka joined Sai in the weapons control room around the same time as Tadia arrived. There wasn't much use in discussing their plans for the ground attack until the rest of the team was present, so, like Tadia, she intended to just pass the time with less important questions. "Since it is somewhat large enough, I think I'll take the cargo bay if we get to a point where we actually need our own rooms. Just make sure to give me my privacy...or not, doesn't really matter to me. But, if you barge in, you do it at your own risk." She commented.
Rareth could agree with the idea of getting something from a restaurant. She did not think that the food they had on the ship was bad per se, but it certainly was not restaurant quality. After Telmeck's suggestion, Rareth stood up and walked towards the center of the living room. "I think I can agree with that. We just need to decide on where to go, or whether to actually go anywhere at all." Rareth commented.

Rareth activated her wrist computer and, with a specific hand motion, blew up the holographic projection to be roughly her size for everyone else to see. With her free hand, she started browsing through local points of interest until she found restaurant listings. "We could always get delivery, if we don't feel like going out. In keeping with the theme, perhaps we should try something with Human cuisine?" She suggested, pausing a moment as she selected a well-rated restaurant that looked like it served Human food. She browsed through their menu for a few moments, though her attention naturally became drawn to their most expensive item. "Hmm, baked yams with matsutake mushrooms and a large wooly mammoth steak, cooked to your specifications. I don't know what any of that is, but it looks good." Rareth commented.
Sorry, been gone all day doing things.

The biggest problem I'm facing is that I don't know how to implement a Virtus character into this particular story. Message me about it, Leon, and we might be able to sort something out.
"We are not going anywhere, Harriet. You know we cannot leave you alone." Meesei answered, slipping the vial into her pouch since it was no longer needed. She then unfurled the rag and held it by only a small part of one of the corners, reaching out to offer it to one of the observing guards. "Obviously, I cannot let you touch the rag, as that would contaminate it, but I shall let the others confirm that it bears your scent. Be careful only to touch this corner, as we do not want to put any more scents on it than necessary."

With the rag in the hands of one of the others, Meesei was free to focus on speaking with Harriet. "I am not here to fight you, Harriet. Nor am I here to lie to you, or anyone else present. That vial was found by one that Jerrick himself deemed trustworthy in one of his letters. No, what I want is the same thing I have wanted since this all began: the truth. I admit, when I was first showed the vial, even I was skeptical. It seemed almost too suspicious. But, so far, I have seen nothing that would suggest it was planted. It was too well-hidden in a hiding spot which bears your scent, indicating you interacted with it personally. Those are the reasons I am accusing you of being the owner of the vial, not because of some agenda you perceive me to have. I do not have a desire to convict you specifically, I want to find Jerrick's murderer. If this is a lie, Harriet, then I need you to convince me of the truth."
Sirka shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know anything about the others. All I know is what my job is and how to do it, but that I know really well. Whichever one of us takes charge once we hit the ground, I'll follow their orders, as long as they're somewhat reasonable. If they try to tell me to do something stupid, well, then I'll just have to improvise. It wouldn't be the first time I've had to do that, and it definitely won't be the last. If all of us survive this, that's great. If some of them die, it won't be any scales off my hide. If anyone does die, though, it'll probably be their own fault. We apparently have some skilled fighters here, so as long as everyone sticks together and no one does anything stupid, we should be fine. If all else fails, you can just hide behind me, literally. Obviously, I attract a lot of attention, but it takes more than a blaster bolt or a slug to put me down. A lot more."

There was nowhere in the room Sirka could actually sit, so she had to be content where she was standing. She started to chuckle slightly before she continued. "Really, you should feel extra safe. If everything goes wrong on the ground and I have to save my own tail, you'll be the first one I carry with me. You're the pilot, after all; you're the one that can get me off of that rock."
