Taylor stayed close beside William, though its eyes were now primarily focused on the woman and the Ratman. It certainly had no love for Lorne, and the idea of allies was appealing, but that still required trust. For Taylor, trust was something that was not easily given. It had trusted Lorne, and had suffered for it. William had taken risks and sacrificed for Taylor, so it trusted him. The Ratman it did not know, though the para woman...she had helped him. She had brought supplies and medicine for William, which was a show of good faith. Though, it was not nearly as much of a commitment as William had shown, still.

"William has to rest, and I have to protect him. I will not leave his side." Taylor answered definitively. Although, it was not quite ready to demand that the others leave. There was still the matter of the ghost, which William did not yet know about. But if the Ratman was being truthful, then nearly everyone in the city had seen it. "But that ghost I spoke of...the strange face in the screens. I heard its message too, the same message. You are not alone. But that was before the escape. After our escape, it spoke to me again while you were unconscious, William. Directly to me. It told me that it had known I was being held prisoner and tortured by Lorne, but could not release me. Once we escaped, it said it had locked down the area and gave me a path to escape the prison. Warned me never to return. It was being honest. I did not have to fight anyone to carry you out, William. I burned the lab that held us, then ran."
Meesei smiled back gratefully. "Thank you. For the most part, I would just like to hear your advice. I would certainly be glad for any other help you might give, of course, but we can have you back here in a few hours, if you cannot spare any more time. I wanted to tell you, my pack, and another that might be able to help me all at once. It is a rather complex issue, so it might take some time for me to explain, but I think you are the most knowledgeable expert on lycan souls in all of Tamriel."

While Meesei had given a hint as to the nature of the issue, she did want to wait until she had gathered everyone together to give the full explanation. "By no means do I want to rush you. Again, I know we arrived rather suddenly. Just whenever you are ready, I can take us to our camp in the Hunting Grounds."

Although he was not nearly as well-versed in the matters of lycans as any of the others present, even Rukeewei turned his head towards the table upon that remark.
You know, if I would have thought about it, I would have given you a summary of events.

There has been some confusion recently. We're currently gathering for a meeting in the Resurgence briefing room. Your ship, after making initial contact, probably would have been given the cliff notes on the situation, about the fact that they've been pulled in from different universes. The details, of course, they would be getting into in this meeting.
Eri 'Moram - Resurgence Briefing Room

After parting ways with Jerus, Eri returned to the quarters her team had been given. The meeting was coming up soon enough, though she momentarily found her mind occupied by her dissatisfaction at the result of her duel with the Jedi. Provided she accepted his explanation of the "Force" being a natural ability, that meant that he had a power beyond anything she could naturally attain. She was still not convinced he was a more skilled swordsman, but she still could not match him. Regardless of the reason for it, that was not something she could accept. She wondered, briefly, if this Force was something unique to this universe, or some sort of cosmic force that her own universe had not discovered. Perhaps it was something that the Forerunners knew of, but had given a different name? Was he correct that it was something that one had to be born with, or was it something she could learn? Regardless, even without that power, she would just have to grow her skills even farther to compensate.

Eri donned her combat harness once again, with the exception of her helmet. She was not on her own ship and did not feel comfortable being without her armor for extended periods, but she at least felt that showing a bare head served as some compromise between combat-readiness and being "diplomatic." Serving as a delegate for the Aegis was far from her preferred role, but she was expected to be able to take on irregular missions for the benefit of the Swords of Sanghelios. Usually, that involved infiltration, assassination, or sabotage, but if her mission required talking, then she would talk.

Eventually, it was time for their meeting. Delegates from every ship in their fleet would be gathering in the Resurgence's briefing room. Eri was not exactly hurrying, but as she was already on the ship, she expected to be one of the earlier arrivals. Somewhat annoyingly, Supreme Commander Erthos himself was not going to be leading the meeting, at least not at first. Evidently, he had another matter to deal with that he deemed more important. In his place, the head engineer Kham Rho, a Cathar, would be representing the Resurgence. Eri had been surprised to learn that there were more species than Humans that crewed the ship, considering she had not seen any among their boarding party. The majority of the ship's warriors were supposedly clones of one another.

When Eri made her way to the briefing room, she found that she was not the first to arrive. In addition to Kham Rho and several clone guards, there were a group of Humans. Even without recognizing the individuals, there was no mistaking who they were. There was an officer in a familiar uniform and, even to Eri's surprise, a team of Spartans. She had seen a Spartan before, though these seemed rather noticeably larger than what she remembered. In any case, since the Aegis had not yet arrived, the UNSC personnel would not have known about the presence of the Sangheili, or any of the other former-Covenant species. Here and now would be when they would learn about them, and now, Eri supposed she would learn quickly if they had been taken from a point in time before or after the end of the Human-Covenant war.

Eri, of course, made no aggressive movements, but she was certainly ready to engage her hardlight shield on a moment's notice.
Meesei and Rukeewei exchanged their mutual greeting after Ariel led them to the table. He appeared less surprised at their visit as he had been in the past. By this point, he had likely come to accept the fact that they could stop in at any time, regardless of where in Tamriel they happened to be residing. Even Do'rhajul gave an appropriately polite greeting to both of their hosts, though he was clearly looking to stay out of any conversations unless he was spoken to directly. Meesei took a seat at the table, grinning lightly and patiently listening to everything Ariel had to say until she could actually find a point to get in a few words of her own.

"Much of my pack has been taking time to themselves to do the things they wish, myself included. I am not sure if Sabine told you about Narsi during her last visit, but I think even Lorag's daughter is starting to...reluctantly get along with the others. Though, I suppose I have not been able to keep track of them as closely as I would have liked." Meesei answered. "Though perhaps you can catch up with them all yourself? I wanted to come here to invite you to come visit, at least for a short while. Perhaps a few hours tonight at least, or if you can possibly manage it, a few days. I understand this is sudden, and I am willing to compensate you generously for your time. Like I mentioned before, there is something of great personal importance to me that your unique talents may be invaluable for."
I will admit, your post does seem a bit confused, @DisturbedSpec, but considering the circumstances, I think that's perfectly understandable.

The meeting hasn't happened yet. When I make my next post, would you mind if I say that your characters are in the briefing room? Who was it that attended?
Also, for anyone who is unsure, the meeting hasn't begun yet, but people are gathering aboard the Resurgence for it.
While Taylor's wariness towards this new parahuman had not diminished, its attention was immediately captured by William stirring just behind it. Taylor turned to the side, focusing most of its glowing eyes onto William, though it kept tabs on the other being with two of its smaller eyes. It was overjoyed to see him moving and conscious, even if he was still obviously weakened. Being conscious made his chances seem so much better. "William, you're awake!" Taylor exclaimed. They had not seen one another at any point before the escape, but Taylor's eerie, echoing voice was unmistakable, and unforgettable.

Taylor stepped forward, looming over William's makeshift bedding. "I should not have doubted you, your plan worked! You filled me with strength until I was overflowing; even Lorne's cages could not hold me. I brought you with me, brought you here. I was not going to leave you behind after what you did. You were so weak...I thought you might have given your life for me. But you live, and we are free. You...liberated me from my torture, released me to the city. I am free to live as I please, go where I please, consume as I please, and you are responsible for it all."

There was little about Taylor's form that could show the emotions it felt, but it still felt them strongly. It would have been in tears, were that possible for it any longer. However, that did not stop Taylor from leaning down to express its gratitude with an enthusiastic hug. Its body was certainly solid, and did feel solid to the touch, but it also was constantly moving, pulsating, and flowing like some sort of living liquid. It was also, at the moment, fairly hot to the touch. "Thank you." It added.
"We escaped from Lorne." Taylor answered, keeping most of its eyes focused on the being itself, though it was still paying attention to the movements of the rats around it. "He helped me escape. He fed me to bursting to give me the strength to escape, but it weakened him. Knocked him unconscious. I owe him my freedom, so now I protect him. And it's why I'll kill you if you hurt him."

Briefly, Taylor's thoughts went back to the escape, especially being that had spoken to it after it broke free from its cell. Whatever it was, it knew about Taylor and its captivity, and had the power to give it an escape route. Yet, it had taken William to get it out of its cell. Were William and the ghost related in some way, or had it been coincidence? Taylor could not ask William at the moment, but it did realize that others outside Lorne might know about it.

"Then there was the other being. The strange face that appeared on the screens, jumping between them like it was struggling to stay put. It could have been a...hacker, but it felt more like a ghost in the machines. It spoke to me...gave me a path out of the prison. Do you know about the ghost? Have you seen it before?" Taylor asked.
Taylor jumped up to its feet the moment it spotted the being enter the room, letting out a sound most akin to a growl to warn it from getting too close. It could not see behind the coat, but the sight of some of the rats gathering around it immediately clued Taylor in to the fact that they were related. It seemed that the para woman had been right in her intuition about the rats that had been trailing them; they were more than just normal rodents.

"Just stay back from him. I don't know you, but I will kill anything that tries to hurt him. You have questions...then you can ask them from right there." Taylor warned.
