Yes, it would have been interesting if they had not betrayed Fifth. He could've been a great ally.
We'll just have to have the terrain bounce instead then...
Turning a stargate "off" is actually a fairly easy thing. Ba'al did it sometime in season 9-10. When SG-1 finally managed to retrieve those gates ba'al stole, they also managed to turn them back "on". If they know how to make a stargate link itself back into the network, it ain't too hard to figure out how to disconnect it. Doing much of anything more with the gate software, on the other hand, that'll probably be beyond them. The gates are linked through a complex subspace network. All they need to disable it, is to disable the transmitter/receiver function. For all we know, there could even be a means of doing so built into the DHD.

Having a DHD is a good idea. A DHD is far safer than anything custom-built by the Tau'ri. A lot of the mistakes they've made over the years when dialing from the SGC have been due to the lack of the classic safety protocols built into the DHD. We like that idea.
Technically, yes. But the Tau'ri probably would never trust it sufficiently. They're too put-off by the replicators and the Asurans.
We'll see what happens. We're personally more fond of the idea of using lantean-class gate shield to stop entry (that's considerably safer than an Iris) and having a computer-based means of disabling the gate at need. The gates are, after all, basically extremely advanced computers.

RP interests/Genres/Categories:
Some types of Sci-fi
- Star wars
- Stargate
- Some original stuff
Fantasy (mostly classic high-fantasy, but open for others)
Supernatural stuff involving certain bloodsucking fiends (i.e. Vampires)
Evil overlords.

Active Roleplays:
- Coruscant sacked: Aftermath - An advanced Star Wars RP set shortly after the Sacking of Coruscant, in the era of the Old Republic. Being a survivor of the guildfall, it is fairly lengthy. GM'd by Ellri and Sundered Echo

- Stargate: Alliances - Stargate RP set aboard a fictional BC-304 ship, set after all the TV series. GM'd by Sep and Sundered Echo

Current Interest Checks:
- Stargate: Alliances

- Coruscant Sacked: Aftermath --- Looking for Jedi ---

Past RP's
- H.M.S. Tempest - A stargate RP that failed due to characters not working together right, plot errors and a few things like that. Predecessor of Stargate: Alliances.
- Some sort of Classic high-fantasy RP GM'd by Hank. Forgotten its name, but it died shortly after the classic tavern introduction scene.
Pre-guildfall:
- Evil Rises (an RP where all the players were either ridiculously powerful evil overlords or overpowered heroes. Worked quite well because all characters were overpowered.)
- Star Wars: Revanchism (x2). Both GM'd by HeySeuss
- Several Vampire-themed RPs, whose names are lost
- Mutually Assured Destruction - A nation RP GM'd by HeySeuss
- A few others we've forgotten.

We'come to the guild.

We hope your stay is long and enjoyable.

How long do you usually write in your posts?
And have you studied much about Old Norse language? (we're Somewhat self-taught amateurs where that is considered)

Do you prefer fandoms over original worlds, or is it the other way around? or don't you care more about either of them?

Finally, what do you think about bacon and neckties?
Your English looks good to us. Nothing to complain about that. Not that anyone would do so. Harping about others' lingual skills is generally not polite.

We'come to the guild and to play-by-post roleplaying. We hope your stay is long and enjoyable.

What sort of worlds do you think you would most like browsing in? Fandom or Original worlds?
What Themes do you like? Fantasy? Sci-fi? Horror? High school dramas? Anime? History? Post-Apocalypic? Supernatural? Romance? Something else?

How long do you think you would typically write? Would you write just a few sentences in a post, a paragraph or two, or multiple paragraphs?

Answer these questions, and we, as well as others here, might be able to guide you to RPs that might interest you.

Do not be scared by the people here. The great majority are nice people.

Oh, and what do you think about bacon and neckties?
We'come to the guild.

What sort of RPs do you prefer? (theme)
What sort of lengths do you usually write?
What sort of opinions do you have about bacon and neckties?
Not really, it's been done before.

Most of the time, the stargate here will be "plugged" as in having a massive object stuck inside it so it cannot be dialed.
