I've been on here since before the fall, way back when I was a middle schooler. It seems a lot more slow paced on here then it once was. I'm also old now soooo maybe that is it.

?Do Shades have parents?? Are then born and do they age up until a point?
I am basically done to!! :D
Is this slightly based off of the books by Melissa Marr? If so are the Shade/Fays allergic/sickened/weakened by Iron? No city living then?!
WORK IN PROGRESS

Name: Bisera

Human Alias: Bridget Odile

Age: ~Late Teens in appearance.

Appearance: Her pearl white skin, has an inhumanly iridescent shine to it, and under moonlight has a slight glow. She has pale red markings around her eyes that fade into her cheeks, making her look eternally sleep deprived, or permanently bruised. Her hair is light silver, and she typically wears it up, with small braids pinned and hanging here or there. Her eyes are the color of faded lilac petals. Bisera is 5'5" and weights practically nothing, very thin in her true form; bony describes her body rather well. With her ribs, spine, wrist, collar, and ankle bones all visible. Her wings look as if there are made of sleek metal and glimmering gems.

Façade: Bisera's facade conceals her wings, strange skin, and markings. She changes her hair color to light blonde, her eyes to a pale blue, and her skin to a typical human peach tone. When mingling with the humans she typically wears, flowy dresses, made of lace, cotton, or chiffon, and is quite fond of pastels and light colors. Like most all Shades, she is attractive and has flawless skin.

Personality: Bisera is optimistic, strong willed, and a free-spirit. An old soul type, mature and innocent all at once. Extremely quirky with a serene disposition, and many eccentric qualities. She is also really intelligent and unusually perceptive, not that anyone can tell thought, most think she is loony or clueless. She appears afraid of nothing. Distant and dreamy; she sometimes drifts away from conversation she does not find interesting. She is not easily upset or agitated, even in stressful, or difficult circumstances. She is not gullible, and she has extremely good Judge of character, thought she is nonjudgmental and accepting of the others around her, unless they are outright evil to the ones she loves. She finds beauty and love in ordinary things. She is an adventurous, curious, whimsical woman.

Bio: Bisera was born to her mother a Shade woman named Tallis, who was the lover of a high born Shade man named Diavel. Tallis bore him four daughters and two sons over a span of about 3000 years, Bisera being the last born. Her father Diavel was killed under the kings command only a few months after she turned two years old; thus causing her mother, Tallis to became withdrawn and to go in and out of a severely dangerous mental state, which would end the lives of hundreds of human girls. Little Bisera was then taken to live with her older sisters, the twins Rozelle, and Pember.

Growing up was idyllic, being raised mainly by her nurturing sister Rozelle, and carefree sister Pember. They lived together in a small cottage in the middle of a great forest in Europe. Pember came and went as she pleased, bringing friends and fanfare along where ever she went. Bisera spent her days exploring the forests and pulling pranks on the humans in the far off village, blissfully ignorant as most youth are.

When she was eleven, her brother Lancifer came to visit for the first time, and with some harmless eavesdropping Bisera came to learn the truth about her mother and other Shade issues of the time. She found all the new knowledge and information to be wonderful, the world was much bigger then the little cottage in the forest. When she was thirteen she used her glamouring ability to appear before humans as a human, after she had heard rumors about two Shade Men doing as such. Gossip and information came to her via the coming and going entourage of her older sister Pember, and the yearly visit from her brother Vetis who always knew everything that was going on in the Shade world. Three months after she turned sixteen, people from the village came and burned the cottage down, fear and suspicion among the humans was becoming and epidemic in the area. Rozelle chose to head west towards were the Kings court was, and Bisera of course came with, though only a year later she set out on her own beginning her own travels at the age of seventeen, which was rather young for a shade.

When Bisera was twenty-two it was decided by Rozelle, Lancifer, Vetis, and many other Shades, that is was high time to do something about Tallis, who had been left to her own crazy mind, and killing spree for the last twenty years. And so Tallis was locked away for her own and others safety, all the murders pined on an insane human woman named Elizabeth Bathory.

259 years later her Sister Rozelle was killed by the shade man she had fallen in love with, for what reason no one ever figured out. Rozelle had basically been Bisera mother, so her death sent Bisera into a century long depression, to which she stay away from mostly everyone.

Bisera was an oddball even among the Shade kind; whimsy and bizarre, as many describe her. In her long lifetime she has met three humans with the sight. The First, was a young Bulgarian girl in 1455, her name was Ghena, who sadly died only nine years later from sweating sickness. The Second was a young french artist in 1829, who had secretly been following Shades around and drawing them, and surprisingly no Shade had noticed the human man following them around and staring at them from the shadows. Lastly, the latest human she had met who had the sight, was a young boy named Freddie, thought that was many years ago.

As for the past century she has been up and down the american west coast doing as she pleases.

Piper remember that she had her wilderness first aid kit packed into her suitcase, all ready for two weeks of hiking, and relaxing in the mountains with three of her college friends. She took a deep breath and stood up, walking over to the plane. Unlike many of the people lying wounded on the beach she had been lucky enough to escape with only bruises. The fire was dying down as people through sand and water over the flames. She walked into the plane following for others. There were charred remains in one particular area of the plane, where the fire had been the worst. The smell was awful; burning flesh was not a fragrance anyone should have to know. As she walked through the wreckage she checked the pulse of the many bodies she passed. “This man here is alive.” She exclaimed. With her medical knowledge she knew it was best not to move an injured person unless they were in immediate danger, and the way the last of the flames were burning the place, and metal pieces were falling from the wreckage interior, it was not safe to leave anyone in the plane. She scanned the area in front of her, as to men came to lift and carry the unconscious man out to the others. That’s when she saw him, a man holding his leg which was impaled with a bar.

“I wouldn’t move him that would only cause more injury.” She said to the girl who was trying to help. “My name is Piper, what’s your name sir?” She asked the man in a soothing voice. Smalltalk and staying calm was something very necessary in this situation, if the man went into shock that would end up making everything much worse. “If someone could check the cargo compartment, that is if it’s still attached, there’s a large lime green suitcase, it has a first aid kit inside.” She needed the man to lay back, sitting up would only speed the bleeding, so she unbuckled his seatbelt, and a softly as possible pushed the back of the seat down. Judging by where the bar protruded from his leg, it was near an artery, which was very bad news if it had been cut, the bleeding would be very difficult stop.

A teenage boy that had been standing around in awe, ran off and came back with her suitcase. For the short time that he had been gone he came back looking even more distraught than he had when he left. “There’s no cell reception. There’s nothing here. A girl climbed the tree. There’s nothing on this island… No rescue.” The boy said tears falling from his eyes. Piper’s eyes widened at the news. This was the stuff Hollywood movies and TV shows were made of, not real life. People didn’t get stranded on islands. If there was no rescue coming… More than half of the wounded and burned were most likely not going to live through the night. She quickly unzipped her suitcase; Her first aid kit was packed with the typical essentials. The man seemed to be too much pain to properly speak, but he was not showing any signs of shock. “Sir I have three years medical training so rest assured, I’m going to stop the bleeding and assess the wound. I need you to bite down on this.” She said to him as she wadded up one of her T-shirts from her suitcase for him to bite down on. First aid kits didn’t hold anything necessary for emergency surgery, they had nothing to provide skin grafts for the severely burned, there was no medical anastasia, and nothing much for pain relief except a bottle of ibuprofen, and a baggy of a dozen Advil. She handed the first aid book to a young woman standing next to her. ”See who you can help out there.” She said to her as Piper stood up, and took her belt off, as it would have to be used as a tourniquet. She took out the tiny scissors from the kit and began cutting the pants leg off the man. She drenched her hands in hand sanitizer rubbing it in all the way up to her elbows. She was going to need to stop the blood flow long enough to take the bar out, tie off the arteries, clean the wound, stitch him up, and cauterize it all.

She put on the rubber gloves, and tightened the belt around his thigh to cut off the blood flow. “I’m not going to lie, this will hurt, but I need you to hang in there and breathe. One. Two. Three.” she counted down and quickly pulled the bar from his leg tossing aside. Piper used dental floss to carefully tie off the arteries. She quickly filled the irrigating syringe with iodine water, and then blasted it into the wound, making sure to clean it out thoroughly. If there really was no rescue coming, infection would be the death of him, so it was top priority, to make sure everything was clean and disinfected. The first aid kit had no suture or string to stitch him up with. Luckily she did have a tiny sewing kit, with needle and thread. Taking her lighter she heated the needle, and began to stitch up the wound, it took thirteen stitches. Piper had done everything that she could possibly do. It was good that he would not need an amputation. The process had taken over an hour to fix him up. She taped gaze over the wound to keep it clean, and then everyone helped to carry him out of the wreck. She propped his leg up, and gave him an ibuprofen and bottled water. There was really nothing more she could do for him.

She walked over to the group of wounded survivors, and used up most of the stuff in the first aid kit. Some people were beyond saving. There was only so much you could do for internal bleeding, missing limbs, and third/fourth degree burns. What everyone needed was a blanket, drinkable water, and someone or something to keep everyone calm and boost morale.
Piper got out of the car, and went to open the trunk to grab her suit case, and carry-on. Her Brother Connor was dropping Piper off on his way to taking his sons to soccer practice, so there were three loud boys in the back seats bickering about what power ranger was the best. Connor got out giving Piper a goodbye hug. “So I’ll be here on the twelfth at 5:00am to pick you up, right?” He said ruffling the top of her head as he always did. “Yep, I will see you in two weeks. Oh, and tell Wendy my spare key is under the potted plant, the one with the purple flowers, and please don’t forget to feed Momo.” She said smiling as she popped the handle to use her rolling suitcase. Her Nephew Jack, rolled the window down. “Your cat does not need to be fed, it’s the fattest thing I’ve ever seen hahaha.” He said grinning and laughing. Bradley popped his head out the window, “Bring me back a present, Aunt Piper!” He chimed in, and the boys all shouted in agreement on gifts. “All right all right. Bye boys. Conner, feed my cat, and don’t forget to pick me up in two weeks. Two weeks! I got to go or the plane is going to leave.” She said giving him a quick hug and wave goodbye to the boys.

She walked quickly through the airport, checked her baggage in, and then headed to the west gate. The fight was boarding, and she walked to her seat, #55 and sat down. There was a man sitting to her left, and on her right was a young pregnant woman. Middle seats sucked, but she was planning on sleeping and catching up on her reading on this nine hour flight. The pregnant woman introduced herself as Erica Payne, and explained that she had a fear of flying, but was on her was to meet her biological mother for the first time. They talked for a while, and then the inflight movie started and she seemed excited that it was ‘steel magnolias’, which she exclaimed was her favorite. The man sitting to her left was preoccupied playing candy crash on his ipad. Piper took out her worn copy of ‘Jane Eyre’ opened to chapter five where she had left off last night.

Hours or so past, she spent her time reading, and sipping the glass of sprite the stewardess had brought her. Then came the screaming, as the plane jerked about in the air, and the yellow oxygen masks and life jackets fell out of the ceiling into everyone’s laps. Her Drink tumbled to the floor and shattered. The Erica woman was screaming, and the man next to her looked to be in complete shock, as he reached for the yellow mask hanging in front of him. Then they hit the ground, fire, screaming, crying, twisted metal, and flying wreckage. The man next to her was dead, practically decapitated from a huge chunk of metal through his neck, and the pregnant woman, who had been tightly grasping Pipers hand, had stop screaming and gone limp, Piper was shaking, she was alive. She un-wedged herself from the broken flaming seat that had her pinned, and checked the Erica woman’s pulse...Nothing. Looking around her dead bodies and flames, she covered her mouth with her sleeve and she squinted through the smoke for an exit, her brain was in survival mode, as she climbed out of the wreckage. Less than a dozen or so people were still alive, some wounded others helping put out the fire and pulling out bodies. Now that she was out of immediate danger, she came to her senses, she was still in a little shock and her emotions had no time to catch up to her. She ran over to the man screaming ‘Help my wife!” how was kneeling next to a woman who was bleed out. Three years of medical school had not prepared her for anything, hell she had dropped out of medical school and switch her major, because she didn’t want the stress or responsibility of saving anyone.

“Here take this apply pressure.” She said quickly kneeling beside him. “Rescue will be coming soon, just keep holding it on the wound, so she doesn't bleed out.” The man did as he was told. Little did anyone know there was no hope of rescue coming, deserted island had no rescue.

Panic was all there was at this moment. She covered her mouth to hold back a sob, turning away from the man.
can we have a second character?
