In Depth Appearance: Selah is beautiful, and out of her three sisters, she resembles her mother the most. Her mother was once called The Flower of Falor, as Selah is now called The White Rose. She has straight ash blonde hair that is lightly layered, and reaches the middle of her back. The sun naturally lightens her hair a shade or two in the summer months. Her skin is an attractive light tan, with warm honey undertones, and is blemish free. Big hazel doe eyes are the most prominent feature on her small round face. The tricky thing about her eyes is that they seem to change color in different lighting, from green to brown and back again. In the sunshine filled days they appear purely green, and in the candlelit night they appear more of a mix of green, browns, and gold flecks. She has a button nose, a small mouth with pouty lips, and a peaked cupid's Bow. She is considered petite, as she has a small frame, and is 5'3, weighing in around 107 pounds.
Her dresses and gowns are all made of the finest materials available, with silks, velvets, satins, and soft linens her go to choices. She tends to be drawn towards the more simple and feminine designs. Using more simple fabric patterns, she embellishes her gowns with lace, ribbons, intricate embroidery, and bead-work. If she is not wearing her hair just plainly down, she is most likely sporting some kind of pretty braided styling. She reserves updos and curls for special occasions, like masquerades, and evening balls. Her jewelry also tends to be on the simpler side, as she forgoes the more popular choice of ornate designs and multiple stones. Pearls, diamonds, aquamarine, and citrine are her favorite gems. Selah prefers silver to gold, but her true favorite is rose gold. She typically smells of airy flowers, as she bathes ever night in aromatic floral infused water, and uses jasmine scented body oils.

Selah is a true protegè of her father Count ___, she is a gifted manipulator who knows how to maneuver her way in court politics. She is capable of exuding the courtly behavior and courtesies expected of a queen, while still privately engaging in palace intrigues to increase her family's power, and please her father. Although Selah has had to develop many different facades depending on who she is trying to manipulate, she is genuinely good hearted, compassionate, and kind. To the court Selah is known for her beauty, charitable works, intelligence, and gentle demureness. Everyone tends to underestimate her because she has a innocent face and sweet voice. She knows how to play a part, but being her true self is more of a challenge, and something she reserves only for those close to her.
Selah is always striving for flawlessness and setting excessively high standards for herself, resulting in quite a lot of disappointment, and irritation when things don't go as planned. Though making mistakes is a fact of life, she chastise herself for even the tiniest of blunders. On occasion Selah has even cried herself to sleep in frustration and self deprecation. She is eloquent, and graceful to the public eye, but in private she is much more relaxed and raw. She is also very intelligent and political-savvy. Her duty to her family has always comes first and foremost, and as her wedding to the King approaches she has become even more grounded in that belief.
She is rather contemplative and sensible compared to most girls her age. She has a soft side for children, and defenseless animals. Selah is unusually perceptive, and knows what is expected of her. She does not trust others easily, and is rather untrusting of people in general. Not that she comes off as such, she like to portray herself, as polite, demure, and sweet. And though she is truly a kind person at heart, she does not forgive easily, and betraying her trust is the worst possible thing, as she has no qualms about revenge or getting even. She will hit you where it hurts most.
D E F I N I N G M Y P A S T
Selah was born in late winter. She was the eldest daughter of Count _____ and his late wife Countess Ursula. Selah was raised in privilege, in a family of outstanding wealth, and power. Her father made sure to supply her a rigorous education fit for any male heir. And her mother made sure Selah excelled in all of the noble lady pursuits. Selah took after her mother in beauty and talent, but she also inherited her fathers cunning.
She grew up on her fathers country estate alongside her three younger sisters
Tamora,
Camille, and
Lydia. Her childhood was idyllic, time was spent learning in the gardens, picking wild flowers, riding horses through the meadow, reading by the lake, gazing at stars, and falling asleep to the sound of her mother's lullabies. Her father spent his time at court as adviser to the king, but every few months he would come home with gifts and gossip. She was a bright and intelligent child. When she was five she was betrothed to a much younger boy, Lord Roger Oldenburg. Her father had made the match, as a way to combine the Oldenburg and Pemberly family. As they were two of the oldest noble families, and the Oldenburg's were the third wealthiest. Once married Selah would become a Duchess, and rising up in power was the Counts main goal. But only two years later, the betrothal was broken off by Duke Oldenburg, after his son Lord Roger suffered a fall, which rendered him simpleminded and mentally unstable.
Unfortunately, her mother died three years later, after giving birth to Selah's youngest sister Lydia. The death of her mother changed young Selah. She became more prudent and reserved, verses her once outgoing and free-spirited self. She quickly picked up the motherly role to her sisters, and perfected her fake 'I'm happy' smile. Only a few months after her mother's funeral, Selah and her sisters came to live in their father's manor in Falor's capital. They were mainly taken care of by their nursemaid Caroline, and their governance Fiona. There was a stark contrast between the life in country, and life among the busy capital. Her father took a special interest in Selah's upbringing, as he had no sons, she was heir apparent to all he had. He ingrained in her that the success of the Pemberly family was the highest priority. He taught her about the court and its politics early on, and made sure to teach her the ways of subtle manipulation.
Selah was thirteen when she officially debuted at court, and quickly rose to become a lady-in-waiting to Princess ____. To Selah's dismay her father sent three year old Lydia, and seven year old Camille to be raised in a convent. It was the one their mother was educated in as a girl, and Selah believed her father just wanted what was safest for the two youngest, as the court became more dangerous. She came into her teenage years at court, among the politics and drama. Her father secured a betrothal from the King between Prince Elroy, and Selah. She was to be the future Queen of Falor, by marrying a boy she had only greeted a handful of times.
With this betrothal she was not daddies little girl anymore, but rather a pawn to his ambitions and scheming. He entrusted her with the task of helping to edify the Prince if the rumors about him being a weakling turned out to be true. Two years later, and only a few months before their wedding was to take place, King Cedric died in his sleep. The castle was in turmoil after his untimely death, and the wedding was put on hold until the proper mourning period had ended, and Prince Elroy coronation took place.
When Princess ____ betrayed her King and Country, with absurd claims of having more right to the throne then her younger brother, and civil war broke out, the wedding was pushed further back. Elroy was the King of Falor by blood, law, and birth right. Many of the older generation also thought this, but over the next two years nobles were becoming more and more concerned about Falor's future with a King like Elroy. Exspecially her father, and his friends.
Following her father's orders, she has began being extremely subtle in manipulating her future husband. She wants to help move the young King along, to make him great and mighty, and to pave the way for there future children to rule the true Falor, and not this split nonsense with the false Seabel, and usurper ______. Selah, like much of the court, finds King Elroy to be a weak-willed and feeble King. She hopes once she is married to him, that she can change him or at least bring out the King in him that everyone needs him to be.
