Greetings fellow writers! My name is EntertainMe. You can call me Eme. I have been writing in a role play styling setting for over 15 years, so it’s safe to say I am over 18 years of age; but thanks for asking, I’m glad I still look so young and attractive… ignore my back pains, complaining about music being too loud and grumbling at nothing about nothing. I started doing this as a means of a creative outlet and it’s become one of my favorite pass times. That being said, this is a pass time not a job; sometimes I could take up to a week to respond but I’ve been told in the past my posts are worth the wait but I’ll get into my writing style later. I do work full time and I travel for work as well; this can come into play and cause delays. Everyone has their own style and I am no exception. So I made this section to specifically discuss how I write as sometimes it can bother people (depending on who you are). I write in third person and the reason for this is it’s easier to describe what’s going on around the character, their inner monologues and allows you, my fellow writer, to understand the depths of my character without trying to be in their shoes from a first person standpoint and doesn’t make it difficult to switch back to writing your character for a response. Dialogue with be in a color and “Quotation marks”, the thought behind this is it’s eye catching and makes a clear separation between the dialogue and actions of a character. Inner thoughts will be in a different color, normally silver and italic as it’s easier on the eyes and common in writing. this will help break apart the thoughts versus actions versus dialogue because everyone has an inner monologue of some kind and it’s a great insight into the character that can be highly entertaining for my role playing partner! I play one main and as many NPCs with shared or non-shared control as needed but I prefer to play a single main and, honestly, request my partner do so as well. I have been left behind many times in my 15 years of role playing by my partner’s characters making a decision without me and leaving me behind. There’s a big difference between visiting characters, characters involved for a short period of time and characters always there. So I request that we each play a single main. That being said we will move on to the next section.
Above seemed like a good way to lead into here. Here is my expectations for my partner and I promise to be mean nice.
1: Write in third person – It’s easier for me to read and I am more likely to enjoy myself when I don’t have to be in the shoes of your character, then turn around and try to switch gears to be in my character’s shoes.
2: 3 paragraphs or more is a requirement to role play with me – I have been doing this long enough to know that a quality post does not appear in a single paragraph. I’ve also been writing long enough to know that inner dialogue, describing the world around you, explaining the five senses and getting into the mindset of your character will make three paragraphs. The only time I would exact 2 paragraphs is during a heavily dialogued post but even then, I expect more from myself and from my partner.
3: Do not even breathe the “I am [insert gender] so I only play [insert gender], and you should only play your gender and I won’t role play with someone who isn’t the gender of their character.” – The door is over there, please leave. No one will dictate my writing style based off of my gender. I am a writer and I write things; I welcome constructive criticism as I am always looking to develop as a writer but I will NOT accept criticism because of someone else’s lack of ability to write their opposite gender or sexual orientation.
4: I will take a while – As I stated above, I work, travel and get busy so if you cannot be patient, wait and you end up losing interest easily, I don’t think we’re going to work out. Check my status for updates regularly and feel free to PM me and chat, I’m always up for chatting and even at work I can answer back to chats (yay desk job).
5: Writing on the website – I don’t do discord or email or Google documents or anything like that so please don’t ask.
6: I am a writer, I write – I state this again because I am comfortable with writing sexual and non-sexual content, MxF, FxF or MxM playing either gender and I am willing to discuss damn near anything. Obviously if I don’t want to do it, I’m an adult and I will tell you no and you will accept that because you’re an adult and would do the same for me. A ‘no’ doesn’t mean I don’t want to talk to you, it just means I’m not interested in that. Simple right?
7: Try not to ghost – Like I said, I can take a while to response but please check my status for updates and feel free to message me in chat. But please don’t message me every hour or even every day. I will get back to you as soon as I can in chat but remember, I have a life outside of this website. But if you get tired of waiting; just let me know “Hey Eme, I don’t think I’m interested in our role play anymore. Lady Lyra is the eldest of 8 children within the region of Nephalm, a kingdom specializing in magic and the mystic arts. For centuries the kingdom has been at war with a neighboring kingdom, including putting all 8 children into the battlefields, for they were elven warriors and she, Lady Lyra was due to lead the country and if she was going to do so, she would need the experience as many have had before her.
At least, that’s what she thought; for years Lyra had fought in the war, returning home with dead troops and beaten to her near death. Never a hostage but always the retriever whether it was by trade or taking someone back by force. She was always the first on the battle field and the last to leave, the sign of a true warrior.
Now… now her father and the kingdom’s leader have drawn a peace treaty and part of the treaty the eldest son of the other country would be married to the eldest daughter of Naphalm… Lyra.
As you can imagine the knowledgeable magic wielding warrior princess wasn’t exactly keen on the idea of being married off but if it was to save her people, keep them from getting hurt and help them prosper in peace, she would do it. Begrudgingly but she would and that is where our story picks up…
Two warring kingdoms come to peace after a long devastating and decide to marry their eldest children to ensure war does not break out again. The big difference between the two kingdoms is that one has magic but the other has technology, so vastly different cultures and quite likely a lot of residual antagonism between the two.
I did add some role play ideas. Far from a requirement for usage but it was a few things that were built. I'm currently typing on another one, this one Harry Potter themed which will be added shortly.
Back from a mini vacation, didn't expect to be back this early so yay! I'm up for discussing something with people if anyone is out and about looking for a new role play partner! Swing in, see my options, let's chat!
