If you like all of the necessary ingredients, pastry and all, why not just make the pie? So many questions.

Fireworks are fine and all, but why do they have to be so bright, colourful and loud?

See, I always pronounced Nutella based on how it was spelt. Noot-telly. Is that wrong?

@ErsatzEmperor You can take Daredevil back if you want. I'm going to cut ties to this particular game. See y'all on the flippity-flip.

Ah, I couldn't man. Generous, but nah. Enjoy yourself anyway.

I'm still of a mind to finish my current CS. Been holding off because of, you know. The dead and barren wasteland this has become. But I will push for this.

ErsatzEmperor Presents:
Amygdala Hijack

Name: Otto Estragon Rosenstadt

Nickname/Alias: Amygdala Hijack (formerly); 'The Slumlord'

Age: 52

Gender: Male

Profession: Hero, formerly. In his civilian life he was a college lecturer and researcher.

Appearance: While greying in hair, Otto has the body of a much younger man, a by-product of his natural mutation. His nose is out of place, resting sluggishly to the left as a reminder of previous beatings in the line of duty. He wears dark eye make-up and is known to don ornate masks when receiving visitors or venturing outdoors. Who said theatrics were dead?

Location: Hijack currently dwells in hermitage, holed up in a weathered brownstone (located in the Castro District of San Francisco). While unaffiliated with any settlements, the surrounding area remains populated, to a fashion, with travellers, nomads and refugees forming a unique settlement known as 'Slumtown'. Otto makes a point not to appear to these dwellers but keeps a watchful eye out for those who may need his protection.

Settlement: Unaffiliated

Skills: Otto has a way with people. Call it his 'animal magnetism', but he can usually bring people round to his way of thinking. This may be to low level telepathy or just his persuasive charm, but he finds it effortless. He has an adulation for those who can produce exquisite meals, however his own skills fall short in that respect. He has tastes incompatible with his ability.

Many of his abilities could be used, if push came to shove, as means to hunt for food. However, it simply is not in his nature to stoop to such a level without just cause.

Powers
Telepathy:

Psychic Communication:

Astral Projection:

Possession/Mind Control:

Weaknesses

Weapons: In possession of no lethal weapons, beyond the ramshackle appliances and cutlery he can scrounge from his kitchen.

Armor/Clothing: Nothing out of the ordinary; a grey longcoat, a simple dark suit, and a pair of black, woolen gloves.

Equipment and Supplies: Owns a wholly furnished house, including a stocked refrigerator and a first-aid kit.

Personality:

History:

Cannot wait. I'm going to start work on the details for the Character Sheet while I wait on this template. Looking great.

Thinking either telepath or shapeshifter. Like to play up the support roles.
That seems like the best put plot so far. I'm fully on board. However, perhaps the Supervillain, whoever they may be, summon the Aliens unknowingly as part of a very different plan? An 'alliance' is made but the villain is eventually strung out to dry, as outlined above, and leading to the rest of the events.

I imagine there being both superpowered and mundane survivors, your character being among the latter.

I actually thought about your character having recovered alien technology as the source of their gadgetry.

That works for me, tbf. Let's see how the boss-man feels.
I have an idea for a mix of the second and third ideas. Perhaps there was some manner of, say, alien attack, wherein the Earth was bombarded wi th anomylous radiation. Most died, but some survivors had their genes altered to gain superpowers.

Where does that leave the guy who wanted to play a non-powered persona, might I ask?

Edit: To clarify, not a criticism. I like the sound of the alien attack angle.

Of course. But, do you mean Batman like this or Batman like this? Either one is fine, though I'd prefer the first one. The second one is still perfectly okay, but if you rely that heavily on tech, have fun trying to take care of it.

So, it seems that it has been closer to a year since the event of world-ending proportion has happened. What sort of apocalypse would you guys prefer? Options being:

1- Nuclear apocalypse. IMO this would be the most generic
2- Some kind of hyper deadly virus. The only people left are the ones who happened to have a immunity in thier genes. This would allow for enough people to be dead to convey the "holy shit, its the apocalypse" but leave enough alive that we could still form a cohesive story about civilizations battling each other.
3- Totally catastrophic super villain attack of world ending proportions.

Of the three, which would you all most like? If you feel as though you have a better idea for it, feel free to bring it up, but please still say which of these three is most preferable to you.

Two and Three seem great fits for this. Three may apply here moreso than anywhere else so this would be a good opportunity to try that one out.
This is definitely something I would like to get my teeth wetted on. My track record as of late has not been great, but I see a long-term future in something like this. Count me interested.

Edit: In similar agreement with the others above on the timeframe bordering on a year.
