''That was amazing.'' Ceres complimented him as he sat down. Leval put a hand to the back of his, rubbing bashfully in please embarrassment. Leval looked up towards Arkan, and saw him give Leval a small nod of acknowledgement. Leval turned his eyes downwards, but a large smile spread over his face.

"Ah thank you- it wasn't anything spectacular... but thank you all the same." He turned his smiles towards her, and watched as she volunteered to go next. Earlier when Ceres had offered to help him fight against Sekhemi, Leval had been unsure whether her power to turn into ash would be really helpful. But now, he could clearly see that he had been entirely underestimating her. She moved with an elegant brutality in the fighting pits. She first moved swiftly like water, before turning and striking her foes with blows like iron. And then when it had seemed like she had been injured in the fight, she began utilizing the her powers. Leval had seen flame manipulation today, but this seemed more internal than anything. The fires burning inside of her giving her strength, speed, and an almost unnatural joy. However, before the fight could get too out of hand, her powers suddenly failed her and the scene changed to that of a woman, dressed all in black standing in a graveyard. Ceres, who had been so confidant before froze, staring up at the woman before frantically ending the simulation and exiting the training area. Leval caught a glimpse of raw, scarred hands under her gloves before she managed to hide them once again. Ceres avoided looking anyone in the eyes and Leval decided that not saying for now would be the wisest option. Leval did not want to say the wrong thing and make Ceres feel worse about the event. 'She looks like she had been through a lot as well. It seems a fairly common theme here. Is that just the life of a gifted?'

Leval was distracted from his reverie as Keith came over to speak to them. "You guys are really tough aren't ya all I've got is a hard painful time with things."

Leval frowned at that- while pain was a useful indicator of damage. It seemed excessive that Keith's powers came with such a heavy drawback. 'Depending on how pain is manifested or registered, it shouldn't be too difficult of a task to be able to block that pain. But in order to sustain it... well that's a much more difficult task altogether.' Leval watched as Keith singed his hand on Ceres white hair, paid him a compliment, and encouraged Shela besides him. "Keith, tomorrow when we enter the training area, come talk to me alright? I need to think about something this evening before I discuss it any further with you." Leval turned away from Keith to watch the next volley of power demonstrations. Arkan remained silent and vigilant, carefully watching and considering each demonstration without a word. There were quite a number of students that went on the stage, and while all of the demonstrations were impressive only four more in particular caught his eye: Dante, Kong, Argentina, and Irvine.

First and foremost, an illusionists skill depended on his power to deceive others, while being aware of the truth at all times. If the illusionist ever got caught up in his own lies or illusions, then he was no longer worthy of the title. Leval could almost smell the lies coming off of Dante and caught the brief sleight of hand Dante used with his pocket. Leval had been studying sleight of hand tricks since he could hold a playing card. While Leval was uncertain of what Dante's true powers were, he still retained the negative first impression he had had upon first seeing him. Kong was a much different story all together, where Dante seemed elegant and casual, Kong seemed almost to be a force hellbent on smashing. What was most interesting to Leval, however, was the pole staff that Kong used. It extended out just like his own hook staff. Of course Leval had heard of the monkeys wielding extending staffs in stories and legends, but one wielded by a flaming gorilla was a new one. 'I wonder if it works in a similar fashion to my own weapon and if so how? And how could I get Kong to tell me more about it?' Again, Argentina was a study in contrast, her powers were actual very similar to Leval's rather than being able to depend on overt action, she too had to depend on subtler means. Leval found himself excited to train with her and see what sort of techniques she was utilizing. 'Earlier today when I felt that wave of calmness, was that her? If so, it was excellently done- I wouldn't have ever caught on.' And finally Irvine for the sheer gall he had in challenging Sekhemi once again, Leval let out a snort of appreciation.

Arkan turned to them all and gave them a review of what they had done during the exams. Leval nodded when he got his, again agreeing with the majority while still having some reservations about accepting the entirety of what Arkan said. Then Arkan gave out room assignments and disappeared after they found the keys and maps inside their pockets just as he had said. He looked briefly at the map and immediately spotted a place that he wanted to visit. Leval raised an eyebrow over at Ceres, mouthing the word "Babysitters?" towards her, keeping quiet so as not to offend the children that sat with them. Leval looked out across the students, attempting to remember which one was Red. It had already been quite an exciting day and there had been a large amount of names to remember. He spotted her and called her over to himself and Shela. "Hey there both of you, it looks like we are all going to be roommates together, we seem to be the only 3 person group as well! Already coming out on top! Leval smiled at the pair of them before continuing. "I am going to go out and explore for a little while but I will be back home by 6:15 in order to make some dinner for us to share. Maybe we can even invite some of the other new students to join us" Leval stood up and began walking towards the door, calling out over his shoulder. "Remember 6:15! It's free home=cooked food!"

Leval exited the school and began to explore the grounds a little. While he had the map, it was still important that he got familiar with the surrounding area. The island the campus was on seemed quite large, the edges of it calling out for further investigation, yet Leval kept his distance. He had plenty of time to explore the rest of the island, but at the moment there was only one thing on his mind. Leval walked around a building and saw it in the distance. A maze! Leval raced towards it grinning like a fool. "A real life actual hedge maze! I've always wanted to go inside on of these!" Leval had a long standing love of puzzles, tricks, false turns, and traps all of which appealed to his nature. Still smiling, he put his left hand against the wall of the maze and began heading down the neatly trimmed hedge corridors, almost enraptured by the challenge.

Working on a post now- was thinking of hosting a dinner party after Leval goes out exploring a little. Leval's gonna teach cooking to Red and Shela! Any interest for others in the event?

Also @Fenfeir Leval is actually probably the best person to talk to regarding pain during regen- he wouldn't be able to quite yet but it shouldn't be a very long wait for him to be able to numb the pain of regen
@Fenfeir Keith would absolutely beat the crap out of Leval in a fair fight mate lol. Luckily Shela is there to protect me
Excellent posts all!
@paragloan I think I will post after you actually- no rush got plenty of stuff to do in meantime haha
@Ojo chan 42 Can understand the feeling! Leval nodded slowly as Arkan recited the rules of the Ordinary Mystical Academy, attempting to commit them to memory. There were a surprisingly small amount of rules here. 'At my old schools, we weren't even allowed to run in the halls. No powers though... that could become somewhat difficult.' He glanced over at Sekhemi out of the corner of his eyes. 'Still I am rather looking forward to getting out and looking around. So long as I continue to not be horribly murdered on the first day of school.' And then, Arkan told them all what would happen in the training room.

Leval leaned against the back of his chair, jaw hanging somewhat open. 'Is Arkan really going to give me, an illusionist, an infinite amount of power? Even just for training of mock fights, I could make whatever I wanted. Displays that only exist in my dreams, illusions so-' Leval stopped himself and thought, really thought about the implications of what having access to such power might do to him and his training.

Sekhemi, to no surprise to Leval, went first displaying an impressive amount of power. His imagined landscape was somewhat more interesting however, for Leval had never seen a God before. He wondered idly in the back of his if he should have taken a photo or something. Rika left Ceres lap and gave an explanation of what had happened earlier, before showing off a surprising amount of skill in elemental magic. 'Half Demon and half Angel huh? I wonder how that- oh my god he just ripped out his spinal cord. Why?"
Many others came after: A magical cat boy who was also a prince, apparently the King of Hell himself ('Obviously. This school really just had to up the danger factor every chance it got. I am beginning to doubt Arkan's selection process.'), a werewolf, a demon summoner who had to be a friend for New Satan, and a paper manipulator who seemed quite jolly.

Of all the displays made before him, Shela's was the one he paid attention to the most. The girl had no powers. No defense. No chance of surviving any of the monstrous creatures around them if they had no choice. Yet here she was, apparently selected by the Headmaster himself to come and join what could possibly be the most dangerous student boy of all time. She had had an extremely difficult life, seemingly plagued only by hardship and strife. Leval rubbed furiously at his eyes, sniffing slightly to maintain control over himself. 'The only reason she could be here is if the so-called "hidden power" her parents talked about exists. But still to bring a defenseless-' Leval stopped thinking abruptly, distracted by a sudden memory. Arkan telling him to look after the girl. Leval swiveled his head back and forth at the monstrous appearances of some of the other students. 'HOW? I am an illusionist, how am I supposed to -gah! Now's not the time for that, for now concentrate on what's ahead of you.' His face grew serious and thoughtful once again.

After Keith had sat back down in his seat, after what Leval considered a somewhat masochist display, Leval raised his hand to go next. His mind was made up, despite the small flame of doubt inside him. He picked up the helmet where Keith and left it and before stepping inside, he began to fiddle with the various knobs and buttons that accompanied the device, looking continuously at the display on the side. When he had completed his task, he strapped the helmet onto his head and stepped inside. The room was left entirely unchanged with one large exception. A comfortable looking chair had appeared in the center of the training room. It was covered in cloth, slightly ripped by the tiny hands of generations. The top of the chair looked sunken in as though a large cat had spent a long amount of time lounging in the sun, discoloring it slightly. The bottom looked like the chair could rock slightly back and forth. Leval went forward and sat down in it, extremely comfortable, it gave a slight squeak of protest, the way an old friend might say hello. Leval raised his hand in greeting. "Hello there. I have introduced myself to many of you already, but for those who do not know I am Leval Lamrue. He looked around and smiled at some. "I hope that we will be great friends. Now as for my power, Arkan, there is something you should know." He stood up and looked the Headmaster straight in the eye. Inside, he felt somewhat discomfited, but this was something he had to declare here and now. "I have turned off the infinite energy program for my training purposes. Nor do I ever intend to use it during any type of training fight. I also do not intend to set up a perfect environment for myself, though I may add small touches to others if it came to a mock battle." Leval stopped talking, not giving any reasons for his decisions, looking at the Headmaster a moment longer before sitting down.

"Now for my power demonstration." Sitting in the training room produced chair, Leval sent out an invisible thread of his magic conjuring the image and mass of a loom, only needing to lightly brush his own source of power. Then he conjured large threads of power, spinning the threads into large spools, sending them into their desired locations to set up the project. Leval turned the threads visible for the benefit of his audience. In his hand, the weaver's tool, the shuttle appeared already spooled with the thread of his power. He passed the shuttle gently through the opening between the opening between the threads of power, known as the shed, then pressed a beater down to tighten the thread in place. He did this again somewhat faster this time. Then again. And again. Faster and faster each and every time till his hands were a blur of speed and motion. His eyes unerringly tracked the shuttle pacing back and forth across the shed, strings dancing along the the vibratic hum of his speed. The scent of hot cloth filled the air. The threads seems to sing with a crystalline note as he continued, almost as though he was playing a many stringed violin. Leval stopped moving his hands at all, sending the thread back and forth with the speed of instinct. Then he stopped, the loom vanishing without a sound leaving only the weave of his magic. He picked it up and turned it so that everyone else could see. A perfect image of the audience before him showed from the weave. There was simply no sign of cloth or sign of its handwoven nature, almost as though a picture had been taken of the scene before him. "My power is illusion magic."

Leval rose and exited the training area, his weave and chair vanishing behind him. Leval was aware that from any standpoint, his display of power had been minimal at best. In fact, he had barely used his energy at all. It was not a flashy display of blaring lights and sounds, or the power he had used on the earth below against Sekhemi or his entourage. What Leval had shown was the sheer technical prowess he had with the skill, taking the art of illusion magic down to its very core, taking the barest amount of material to create a display that should have been impossible to replicate with such little investmen, displaying the fine intricacies of the craft. It was skill that could have only been born from his grand efforts and innate gifts in the magic. While not flashy, anyone that knew even the basics of illusion magic would have no doubt of his skill.
