SingerΩActorΩENTPΩMusic LoverΩHistorianΩHuey Long FanΩNot a fan of the Nation Of IsraelΩCatholic To put it simply, I'm a High Schooler living outside of the U.S who happens to hold an extreme interest in 20th Century obscure historical figures such as Huey Long, Gregor Strasser, Father Charles Coughlin, and Corneliu Codreanu. I've been RPing on here on and off since I was 12 (fuck it's been awhile) on multiple accounts (I started this one when I was around 13), over that time, I've most certainly gotten better both as a writer and someone who's able to get into character. My favourite (and really only) types of RPs are NRPs because I feel like they play into my interests of politics, character creation, and historical contexts/world-building. My favourite settings are those stereotypical post-apocolypse dystopias that you would see the generic Young Adult book protagonist wander around, though I'm also open for Sci-Fi, Modern, and Historical settings. I'm not the biggest fan of Steampunk though, so it's slightly more difficult for me to get involved in those. When RPing, I prefer not to get involved into the stats side of things, as I'd much rather dive deep into the lore of both the setting I'm RPing with and the Characters/Nations I'm using for that RP in question. Now, for more about myself, I'm a massive fan of Music in general and a Singer. My favourite band changes what seems like weekly, though I'd say I'm a massive fan of Nine Inch Nails, Turnover, The Smashing Pumpkins, Foster The People, Weathers, and Smashmouth The Wombats. My favourite songs are probably Closer, by Nine Inch Nails, Knights of Cydonia, by Muse, BYOB, by System of a Down, Pumped up Kicks, by Foster The People and I Don't Wanna Know, by Weathers. My favourite games are NBA2k18 and Crusader Kings 2, though I'm also a fan of HOI4 (yay Kaiserreich) and EU4. Database of some RPs I've ran: Age of Rebirth (Post WW3) The original. Was a popular NRP for it's time but eventually died out. The Rise of Man (Fallout-like RP) The "sequel" to Age of Rebirth. Was quite interesting building off the history of an NRP that already happened to create a new one. Sollus Supremus (Dune-like Space Opera) I decided to venture out of my comfort zone a bit with this one, some really generic Space Opera. Age of Rebirth: The Rising Tide [Post-Apocolyptic NRP] Honestly my favourite one I've ever made, though that's most likely because I've become a better writer over the past 3 years, considering I'm no longer 13, like I was when I made Age of Rebirth.
Here is an early. Early rough draft of my nation just wanted to get some claims out. Is there anything in particular you'd like to see? Given the rather short length of time, it was difficult to think of a whole lot. I'm thinking more explanation on government setup, but I could do the wars as well.
Maybe going over some of the major battles in the war, though more of a description of government would be nice.

High Commander of all armed forces Boris Stolarz (Info on actual military units might come, I'm not sure yet) Productions (What your nation Produces): Military Equipment, Lumber (Baltic), Coal/Metals (Polish), Oil (Belarus) History of the Nation (Easy Pz): Following the Third World War, General Stolarz led the Belarussian military into neighboring countries weakened by the war. Poland easily knelt under his military force, but brutal fighting continued in Russia for some time. It was not until 2054 that Russia was pacified, and the peace treaty granted Stolarz and Byelorussia the lands they now control. Ukraine attempted a preemptive strike on the Byelorussians while they were engaged in Russia, but General Stolarz was able to quickly respond with occupying troops in Poland to storm Ukraine. The Ukranians quickly surrendered. Lithuania and Latvia subsequently volunteered to be incorporated, and Estonia capitulated only two days after the declaration of war on their nation. Stolarz then set about establishing a government, rapidly forming the governing council of his most trusted and able generals, many of whom he had recruited from the conquered countries. The 9 Oligarchs, including Stolarz, asked the people to put forth volunteers to review a constitution they had drafted. Surprisingly, the people approved the constitution, legally placing Stolarz and his government in control. By 2060, the nation was internationally recognized by all but a few nations, mainly the exiled governments of those it had conquered. Byelorussia has slowly been building its military in preparation for a brewing war with the Finnish Republic and possible revenge attacks from the badly weakened Russians. Main Race (What is your State Race + Racial Demographics): Caucasian. To be more specific, Belarussian (26%), Polish (28%), Estonian(2%), Latvian(2%), Lithuanian(2%), Ukrainian(9%), Russian(31%). Good so far, I'd say expand on the history, then you'll be accepted.
<Snipped quote by MetalLover>Just because people called dibs doesn't mean there won't be any fighting over the Moon. But well technically the international laws prevent the militarization of space besides given the costs making it a joint operation is more believable IMO.
That's true, I just think that having it just start could make for something more interesting.
@NerevarineI am also just in the neighborhood so who knows? Things could get even more complicated. @MetalLoverI know you told me that space development would be only beginning but I feel that's a wasted potential. 2045 feels like a reasonable date to have some Mars colonies. Nothing major but imagine a fringe cults that migrated zo Mars to escape WW3. Moon could be also like Africa was in the 19th century. Exploiting asteroids anf other space resources could be fun, too.
I have two reasons for setting it up at the beginning. 1: I have plans for this, large, insane plans. 2: I feel like it would be more interesting for the story with rival superpowers trying to take Mars and the Moon.
“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones" was a quote said by the Late Albert Einstein, he was at least half wrong. We as a human race survived World War Three without major nuclear Devastation. This though, does not mean Humans as a whole where not beaten down after the war, during and slightly after the war, nations fell and new rivalries where made. The East vs West rivalry that defined the 1900s and early 2000s are no longer how the world lines are drawn. Smaller alliances are made amongst nations, with group against group, nation against nation, this Newer World Order might be worse then the world we just escaped. The end of an Era is upon us, no longer will the diplomacy of the world be forced upon us by Great Powers, for now the nations are close to equal power.
Welcome to Our Unstable World, the spiritual successor to Age of Rebirth. This RP will be taking place after the most destructive conflict in human history, this conflict was World War 3. The current year is 2065, a total of 15 years since the end of World War 3. The colony to begin colonizing Mars and the Moon have just been created, but no one has actually set up colonies yet. You will be able to try and set up colonies right on the first IC post. Our Unstable World shall be a free form RP.
Rules 1. While this RP is labeled as Advanced, that means I expect long and meaningful posts. I will accept small grammatical mistakes. 2. Be Realistic (No Super Sci-Fi Techs) 3. I am the Law m8 4. Basic Roleplayer Guild rules apply. 5. History must start after 2015, nothing before. 6. OOC will be character based 7. No Godmoding/Metagaming 8. Have Fun Peeps 9. Only post your app in the Character section after it is accepted. 10. In the IC, wars will only be allowed at the start of the second page, this means that I need some reasons for wars to start. 11. Genocides are allowed, as well as conquering land from nations being played and not being played, but if you take land from a nation being played, please make sure you have permission first. 12. Nukes are allowed, just highly discouraged by the International Community. A list of Plausible Technologies is here (Thanks Willy Vereb)
- Carbon-nanotubes: Their diverse properties make them potentially the building block of all near-future technology. They can be cathalists for various reactions, electrodes and the heart of computer systems (replacing silicon chips). They are also rather light yet strong which makes them important for buildings and vehicles. Cost-wise they'll be only marginally more expensive than steel if all costs are cut back with its massed use.
- Energy Storage: CNT-based batteries and supercapacitors will be smaller for the same stored power which is already a boon. In addition CNT makes fuel cell tech viable, somewhat expensive but a possible option for anything that consumes a lot of power. If larger energy densities are needed then they can use antimatter storage but such methods would be obviously expensive and only used in the most expensive cases. Think of the latter as this RP's equivalent of nuclear reactors. Basically you should be able to design storages with the capacity of a car battery but size as small as an ammo clip. Fuel cells can also allow you to substitute typical fuels for electricity if you want to.
- Fusion Reactors: At last this technology would be plausible during this RP. The question is about the scale. Neutron radiation hazard may also limit how small we are willing to build these (since you need some distance and shielding to avoid that issue). So nuclear-powered tanks might be an unlikely scenario still.
- Directed Energy Weapons: They won't be anywhere as convenient as shown in sci-fi. They fail as effective conventional weapons compared to guns. On the other hand they could be cheap (when compared to ordnance, not to handheld firearms) and certain types of radiation would require special protection. As such it'd be effective at disabling electronics or affecting soldiers regardless their protection. The question is whether radiation-weapons would be considered humane enough to avoid it being internationally banned.
- Railguns, coilguns: Oh yes, these will be there. Electromagnetic propulsion will be on the rise. Of the two designs railguns have more potential at smaller scales. With the advance of electronics though I'm not sure whether rails or coilguns are more efficient at large scales. It's up to you. Anyways, railguns with sufficient money and sophistication can replace any firearm we have. The difference would be important yet far from OP.
- Mechs, Walkers, Power Armors: Yeah, with some decades of sophistication and the energy issues solved you can start thinking about your walking vehicles and cool powered armors. Don't think you can build anything like the Gundam, though. Your soldiers may carry more with powered exoskeletons but they are no Ironman, either. Walker vehicles also have several issues in general but I think our nice and benevolent GM would make bits of allowances so long it isn't anything OP.
- Antimatter: The immense energy densities of antimatter would be necessary for certain technologies (especially the nukes). To get this you'd need colliders and particle accelerators designed for this purpose and even then the process would be very wasteful in energy so antimatter would remain expensive. Though you don't need too much of this to begin with. As for storage either electromagnetic traps (ie: Penning Trap) or using fullerenes/CNTs and their electron-dense structure to keep anti-protons. The latter would have a nice potential because you can store the mix as an inert black powder and can "activate" it by just burning it, which is amazing. This makes the "antimatter powder" simple to use and can be even an alternative for space rocket fuels.
- Pure Nukes: By either using lasers or bits of antimatter it's possible to start fusion without leaving behind nuclear fallout. In addition this makes it plausible to scale down nukes to almost any size, especially with the "antimatter powder" idea from above. All you need is a well-designed bomb casing, some explosives, tiny amounts of "antimatter powder" and tanks of liquid hydrgogen or other material you use for fusions. These methods also save up weight compared to older designs so a strategic warhead may even weigh below a ton.
