Username: Parks Real Name: Kip Ayway Gender: In: Male RL: Male Race: Elf Age: 22 Class: Summoner Subclass: Noble Level: 90 Appearance:
Parks went in hard on the fairy theme of his main, setting the height bar to minimum for the elven race and softening the features as much as possible to give an androgynous look to his character. He stands at about 4'7, with a lithe build and longer, black hair. His armor changes from Greens, reds, golds, and blues depending on which skill set he has selected with his Crown of the Fairy King, which is just a tangled vine that blooms flowers or leaves or even appears barren depending on the season. Background: A college drop out with a half completed theater degree and a history of being active only online and not in the gym, Kip was slowly losing steam for real life. Between Dungeons and Dragons games 4 nights a week and running a roleplay guild on Elder Tales, it was amazing that he managed to stay afloat with his apartment but he always came through with rent that he shared with his 3 roommates. He didn’t even know them, and they just knew him as the guy who doesn’t talk.
He would work jobs online, tutoring high schoolers in math he just googled the answers to, writing essays for lazy college students, and even setting up a patreon for his guild that honestly just went to his own pocket. He wasn’t really doing much in the upward movement category of living.
His family supported him but he was more worried about himself to really worry about them. He would go to family events and holidays but overall he wasn't too close with anyone in particular.
In Game History: After the Apocalypse Parks was one of the first people to stand up and assume a new identity inside of the game. They were always eager to start role-playing and acting in character beforehand and now given the opportunity to live out the life of a character he fully adopted a new lifestyle almost entirely throwing out his old personality in favor of his new Parks style personality. He used his status as a leader of a large and fairly popular, as in not universally hated not as an gigantic, guild to quickly assume a little bit of power over a few of the adventures who would listen. And while not his idea he did help champion the idea of the North Wen Alliance following his good friend who headed the Knights of Bahamut.
He tended to mingle with the people the land a bit more than the average user using his subclass of noble to get in with most people of the land quite easily. He used this as a bargaining chip, which gave him an edge over the others in the North Wen Alliance when it came to treating with people of the land and became their go to guy for that area of politics. He is notorious for going a bit too far with his roleplaying, but never far enough that complaints of his position in the Alliance have been made.
Guild/Position: Neon Colossus, Founder
Personality: In game, Parks is very flighty. He tends to treat everything like it’s all a play, dramatically moving his entire body when he speaks, standing up when he needs to make a point and using his summons to aid in lighting his backdrops. He longs for spotlights, but in battle prefers to let others be seen, not one to soak up damage but to deal it from the back while his summons (who he calls his children) do all the work. He treats most people as if they were somehow nobles as well and flatters all who he can. He has received many a slap after a misinterpreted interaction convinced him the love of his life was nearby. He tends to crack under pressure and drop the facade and shift back to his real self, less witty and quiet, letting others figure things out for him, because let's be honest if he was good at strategy he would make his Parks persona good at it too. Once he’s back in character, he will 100% try to take credit for some part of the plan.
Skills: Most of Parks’ skills are summons, being a summoner and all.
Dryad: Summons a nature spirit that can hold down 2 enemies at once, covering them in thorny wooden vines that break in 5 hits.
Fairy Swarm: Summons a hoard of small (about 6" tall) pixies that move in a cloud to distract foes for a short time. They raise critical hit chance for the attackers and lower accuracy for the targets.
Eladrin: This skill has 4 versions, summoning a spring Eladrin will create a green elven warrior that will taunt nearby enemies to attacking it, vanishing after one hit. Fall Eladrin will summon a red and brown elven priestess who will heal allies near it for 15% of their HP before vanishing. A summer Eladrin will appear as a gold elf warrior, attacking targets for 10 seconds. A winter Eladrin will appear as a blue and white elven warrior that will cast a gust of icy wind in a cone, damaging and slowing those in its wake.
Fey Step: Parks will teleport about 30 feet, scaring, charming, burning or teleporting someone instead depending on what season he has selected for his Crown of the Fairy King
Minor Summons: Summon elemental fairies to do a number of simple things based on nature. Be it setting things on fire, growing plants to hinder movement, create gusts of wind, freeze things, or mimic certain minor spells from other classes. These all come with a slightly longer cast time, due to the summon appearing and then casting the spell.
Mirror Image: Parks makes 2 more of himself that deal next to no damage but lose health at the normal rate.
Basic magic attacks, no other effects than elemental damage.
Equipment: Oberon’s Vestments: A cloth armor for the summoner class that allows access to alternate fey-like skins for many summons, but does not change their abilities and stats. Consists of 5 pieces including a staff. All together, this Phantasmal level armor class boosts mana by a huge 50%, allows for aggro manipulation, stronger and longer lasting summons, and four aesthetics!
Puck's Boots: A pair of boots that allow the caster to duplicate themselves in order to redirect aggro and cause targeted attacks to miss. These illusions are described in Mirror Image
Armor of the Archfey: A cloth armor piece that takes up the torso and leg slot of an armor set that adds a massive boost to the users mana pool and boosting the damage of elemental summons when used in the correct seasons. (Fire and Acid/summer, Lightning and Wind/spring, Ice and Necrotic/Winter, Earth and Poison/Fall)
Oberon’s Story Book: A high level summoner grimoire themed after a book of fairy tales that allows the adventurer to summon small helper fairies to do automated tasks based on type, be it Maids, Gardeners, or other non-combat specialties. It was useful for automated grinding but now seems to have more uses, as the fairies have personality, and should they stay on task can prove helpful.
Titania's Gloves: These white gloves never get dirty and provide summons with a 15% longer duration! Also stylish
Changeling's Coat: This coat is said to be able to change one's appearance at will. In game it lowers aggro chance by 30% and once every 90 seconds the user can transfer aggro to another player of their choice.
Crown of the Fairy King: The final piece of the Oberon item set, it allows the user to cast the spell “Fey Step” and choose from the four seasons to change its effects. Also allows the wearer to change the style and color of Oberon’s Vestments.
Bag of Holding: A basic item every player gets at level 15 Theme song:
Fun Facts: Parks went after the Fairy King item set after finding his own summons bland, only choosing it due to the new skins and palate change it offered him. He has since embraced his status as a fairy summoner.
Name: Ragar Stormfang Race: Wolf Fang Class: Guardian Level: 92 Subclass: Knight Brief Appearance: Standing at 6'5, this hulk of a man blocks out the sun with his anime size great sword and shining platinum plate armor. He has draconic symbols on everything he owns to represent Bahamut. He Has silver hair and eyes, a jolly build, not overly muscled but more of a power lifter physique. Brief Personality: The nicest man in game, according to Parks at least. He acts as the head of a roleplaying guild that now acts as the police of the realm, assisting those in need and protecting the weak. He cares more about others than himself, having visited the cathedral more times than he would like to count in order to save another player. He can be seen leading by example, on the front line of most fights with a banner and several devoted followers in tow. Brief History: Captain Ragar was one of the founding members of the North Wen Alliance, and heading a large raiding guild that focused on protection and tanks, he was a sure fit to lead the soon to be police of the cleftlands. He spent his first month doing nothing but escorting newer players in areas known player killers roamed, taking them out to keep the world in line, but nowadays finds himself too wrapped up politically to go out and protect the people he's sworn to help. Guild: The Knights of Bahamut, Founder.
Name: Sigil-Master Garkan Race: Half-Alv Class: Enchanter Subclass: Sigilmancer Level: 92 Brief Appearance: While being at the maximum height of his race at around 5' 6", everything else about Garkan screams the appearance of a traditional mage. His character sports a dark cloak with a hood that hides his slender figure. Garkan's face is pointed, and lacks physical mass. In regards to age, the avatar looks to be a young adult, perhaps in his mid-20s. Brief Personality: Being the cynical man he is, Garkan is often considered to be sarcastic and bitter. He often has a wisecrack, and speaks down on nearly everyone he meets (Cassio included). However, he is one of the most knowledgeable players in Elder Tales, especially when it comes to his subclass. Garkan has been attempting to figure out how to craft mythical items his entire life, and the rumored Artifact-level Sunblade and Moonblade are the latest items on his list. He's incredibly focused on the creating of these swords, and won't quit trying to get them crafted. Brief History: Garkan is well-known in particular communities for his focus on being the first to help create mythical items. Being a Sigilmancer, his skills are required by many to help give crafted items the extra "magical breath of life" that makes them properly powerful. In the past month, he has helped Garkan finish crafting his current swords while leading the charge on finding the locations for the materials for the Sunblade and Moonblade. Within The Blades, he acts as the unofficial second-in-command despite being the only non-swordsmith. He has other side projects he is working on, and works with various other guilds as necessary. Guild: The Blades, member
Name: Sam Smith Username: Teenyone Race: Fox Tail Class: Sorcerer ( Combat Rage ) Subclass: Avenger Level:20
Brief Appearance: 14 and 4ft8, Sam is a tiny little thing compared to many other adventurers. She is one of a pair of identical twins. Pale skin and near pure white hair, her ears and tail match this. Like her sister, she often prefers to have these new additions visible. She wears a set of simple grey robes that hide most everything below the neck.
Brief Personality: The more aggressive of the twins, Sam is much louder and more outgoing than her twin. She is a very aggressive fighter, and often forgets her own level when it comes to trying to protect her friends. She is never seen far from her sister, and is often standing in front of her, as if taking a protective stance.
Brief History: Born across the street from the Hare family, the twins easily liked their neighbors. Long time friends of Miss Hare's daughter, the pair quickly learned about Elder Tale and bugged their parents until they were able to play. Quite obviously they stuck to The Fang Family, and most often MamaFang herself. When the world changed, they were lucky enough to have logged out in The Fang Family guild hall, and waited patiently for MamaFang to return. In the month following, Sam found herself abandoning her previous subclass of Apprentice, and adopting the Avenger Subclass in an effort to find a way to keep her sister safe.
Guild: The Fang Family
Name: Elisabeth Smith Username: Teenytwo Race: Fox Tail Class: Druid ( Witch Doctor ) Subclass: Apprentice ( Chef ) Level:20
Brief Appearance: Much like her sister, Elisabeth is one of a pair of identical twins. This mirrors their in-game avatars very closely. They have pale skin and near pure white hair, with matching ears and tail that Elisabeth too tends to allow be seen. Elisabeth herself wears a set of light pink robes that reach down to her shins that are otherwise unremarkable.
Brief Personality:Unlike her sister, Elisabeth is a quiet girl dedicated to helping anybody she can. She has a love of the support classes, owing to her hatred of harming anything, let alone people. She is a lover of reading and cooking, a main reason why she decided to take the Apprentice Subclass and study under MamaFang. She is protective of her sister as well, albeit not in such an outward way.
In the month following, Elisabeth focused her attention on improving her knowledge of her skills, if there would ever be a time when she is needed, she would be sure that she knew exactly what she could do.
Guild: The Fang Family
Name: Maria Username:Twitchy1 Race: Human Class: Swashbuckler ( Gladiator ) Subclass: Butler Level: 87 Brief Appearance: 5ft7 with short cut hair, Maria's avatar is a very close resemblance to herself in real life. She is visibly young at 17 years of age. Her armor is a full set known as " The Gladiator's Garb " It increases her survivability by giving her a small hp and mp regen buff for each successful hit she makes on the same target, and for each hit she takes she receives a small physical or magical defense buff depending on what she is attacked with making short lived burst damage most effective.
Brief Personality:Pessimistic and aggressive, she is loyal to only one person, MamaFang, and by default TinyFang. Her subclass as Butler was chosen due to her wanting to repay the debt she feels she owes MamaFang for introducing her to the game she so dearly loves. Outwardly, she is all business but inside is where all the emotions lie, secretly she has a crush on TinyFang.
Brief History:With the loss of the use of her legs at age seven, she barely remembers ever walking in the first place. While not living near MamaFang, she met her in an online forum discussing the release of Elder Tale. She was very active in the forums and easily made freinds with MamaFang, who even bought the game for her. She was surprised by this act of kindness and vowed to repay it. She ended up taking on the Butler Subclass and becoming a high ranking Officer of The Fang Family.
In the first month of the new release, she spent most of her times in a chair in The Fang Family hall, after all it takes more than a sudden change of scenery to learn how to walk. After learning to walk without crutches, she still spent most of her time in The Fang Family hall, directing the important business so that MamaFang could focus on more personal matters.
Elder Tales was originally an American MMORPG created by Atharva Inc., a Los Angeles-based company. Over time, as Elder Tales popularity grew, the number of servers expanded up to 13, when Elder Tales became a fully-global MMO with a server on every continent. Each server has its own company running the game, coming up with their own special events, classes, and subclasses. However, transferring to another server is as simple as taking a Teleport Gate or a Fairy Ring to another server, having no restrictions. Furthermore, to allow better communication between players, there is a highly-accurate automatic translator that works even for voice chat.
The world of the game, Theldesia, is based on ours only at half scale, mirroring many cities and landmarks in it’s own unique style. It is built on what is essential a post apocalyptic earth with run down, overgrown buildings and skyscrapers littering the land.
Elder Tales functions as most MMO’s, offering the player to choose a race, class, and one of several subclasses that are usually roleplay centric. In this RP, Race won’t have very much impact other than character appearance, but Class and Subclass have benefits worth pondering. Our story: It has been about a month in game since the apocalypse, which refers to the event on May 3, 2018 that trapped all players who were logged in inside of the game. It was triggered by the release of the game's twelfth expansion pack, Homesteading the Noosphere. Among its most immediate effects was trapping over several hundred thousand players worldwide. The NPCs, known as Landers or People of the Land, were also affected by this incident. Depending on the perspective, either they suddenly gained memories, personalities and backgrounds. Things were rough at first, with no idea whether one would respawn anymore and all the food tasting bland and all liquids tasting of water, but over time the adventurers adapted. Cooking foods without the in game menu gave them flavor and a brave, stupid, or suicidal adventurer discovered one could even respawn.
In the last month, the people of the land have gotten more bold and bitter toward the adventurers, players are in disorder and have taken to killing others as opposed to the monsters, and guilds have started becoming the pseudo government. One guild, Neon Colossus, headed by the Elven Summoner with the Noble subclass known as Parks, is known for ruling alongside several other guilds that act as a pseudo-government for the area known as the Cleftlands, near the great lakes. Other guilds in this alliance include an formerly purely roleplay guild known as The Knights of Bahamut who take Lawful good to new levels and act as the police of the city, headed by Platinum Knights who act as sheriffs, and several other crafting, raiding, and merchant guilds, none with more power than another.
When making a character, feel free to make them the head of a guild other than Knights of Bahamut or Neon Colossus or just a member of one or even guildless! Feel free to be any level, 1-92 as very few will have had time to get higher without socially isolating themselves and hard grinding. Being in a guild will have no affect on your power level in game. You can even make a Lander character who just happens to hang out with us, or even a Lander turned adventurer.
In the wake of an event that happens every december, players are taking advantage of a recurring quest where the landers send out gifts to be delivered by adventurers for a small amount of experience. The problem is, these presents were usually represented as mules with bags of gold, weapons, armors, and potions that the players would get a cut of upon delivery. Without the game mechanics that would normally bar access to these inventories without completing the quests, the adventurers have started accepting the gifts and taking them for themselves leaving the people of the land upset, the monsters spawned by the quest left to roam, and has only increased player killing for the promise of nearly free rewards.
The North Wen Alliance has started enlisting scribes to post wanted posters for known player killers and some adventurers find this cruel, as dying means losing your memories. Unrest among adventurers, landers, and monsters alike is at an all time high this holiday season. Can our brave group manage to calm the server with the highest population in the game?

Guild Title: Neon Colossus Leader: Parks Type: Roleplay/Generic Guild Description: Neon Colossus was a guild built around the idea of RPing life in the world of Elder Tales. It was headed by a Noble who had achieved the King tier of the Noble subclass and GMed the roleplay to be based around issues in his kingdom. It's 300+ members would go on raids and perform fake quests for the other nobles and players of the guild to keep the game exciting in the endgame beyond the fashion component of it. Post Apocalypse: After the apocalypse, only 106 members were logged in and of those only 30 or so decided to continue their characters into their new life. This left Parks with a small band of followers and knights that he mostly orders around as equals, no longer fully acting as a king due to these people no longer just being avatars on a screen.
Neon Colossus has taken to Lander relations more than ever, due to their history speaking of Parks as a King among the adventurers and therefore a sort of leader. He explains that his kingdom is small but they assume he is modest. He has since embraced this title and while in the presence of Landers plays up his lordship in order to assist in negotiations. Among Adventurers, he's nothing more than the leader of an RP guild.
Got it, I'll get to writing some PvE plotline, but I'll mix in some PvW stuff to so we get some sick Lander tie ins. I'll wait for 1 or 2 more people to respond before I toss the OOC up and get Character sheets out.
