A little post placing Marie back in Pax. Hopefully it can start moving forward again.

Also, @Nytefall, GamerXZ and I are currently in the titanpad working on the collab. We need to get it finished today so that we can make sure Natural Selection moves along with the heroes involved. We don't really have that much more to add, just a bit of dialogue then I can take us to Ironworks or very close to it and maybe a large collab could begin again.

Location: The Red Devil, Lost Haven
Time: Pax, Present

Marie ascended the stairs with quickened pace, fearing what her absence had wrought. I can’t believe I left them alone, she scolded herself internally, stopping at the first door on the second floor of The Red Devil. She had proven herself a valued member of the team, acting against the Silver Sorceress and her spells in the first phase of battle, but she had also allowed herself to fall prey to exhaustion, not to mention some strange, ethereal presence that liked to pop up and take control of her body. No matter what she had accomplished before, it had been undermined by the sorceress’s sleeping spell. Marie had to fix things.

“The Workshop” as the witches called it, was her destination. It was the only room in the entire tavern that held all the tools of the trade, and it was here where the witches crafted their spells for clients. Marie used the abundance of resources to create a mystical aromatic, a charm that, when lit, would emit a magical vapor that could reverse the effects of illusions and other bewitchments. Her counter magic had worked wonders against the sorceress’s other spells, she had no reason to believe this wouldn’t do the same.

After the spell was crafted, Marie tidied herself up, wiping away some of the dirt and grime on her tattered clothes, replacing her broken mask with a similar one kept in the workshop. Once she felt more collected, she returned to the ground floor and went straight for Puck’s door. She wouldn’t waste time wishing Joseph and company more luck, there was nothing else she could say to prepare him. She reached the door, knocked three times, said aloud her destination, and opened it, the otherside appearing in the factory that was Diplodoc’s base.

As soon as she arrived back in West Virginia, she lit the aromatic, tossing it into the middle of the room. The smoke shimmered slightly as it weaved in and around her teammates unconscious forms, filling their nostrils with a sweet, invigorating scent. The effects of the spell wouldn’t be immediate. It would take some time to fully counteract the magic that held them unconscious, but they would awake soon enough.

Marie turned on her radio, which had been cut off during her fight with Odette.

“H-hey,” she said with a hushed tone. Realizing that she would probably just sound like radio static, she bucked up and spoke with more force. “Hey, Iron Knight. I got side-tracked and had to go silent for a while, but I’m back at Diplodoc’s base. Silver Sorceress is down and she managed to take out the rest of the team with some sort of sleeping spell, but I’m undoing it as we speak. Also, there’s, um, no sign of War Pulse. He must have gotten transported somewhere else.” She paced around the area, waiting for her teammates to awaken.

“I can join up with team two if you want, provide them with some magical assistance once they find the Doctor, or I can wait here for the rest of team one to wake up. I suppose it’s up to you.”
Cassandra watched as Jaklo charged forward, a beast of a man, even compared to the literal beasts that seemed to be working alongside them. His magical weapons had done their job, exposing the mage long enough for someone else to take him out and dismember the golem, but Cassandra wouldn’t be the one to take the glory. She knew that if Jaklo was left to himself while she or anyone else charged the golem, he’d bleed out, and what better way to gain the trust of her future teammates than being his witch in shining armor?

With a sharp motion, the Pit inched forward. The flaming ward followed suit, burning away the grass and snow as it moved. Within a few moments, the pit stood close enough to Jaklo to place him within its protective shell, and Cassandra was quick to follow, appearing at Jaklo’s side before the golem or its children could do any further damage. She removed a small talisman from her coat: a rough crystal wrapped in dried herbs, animals skins, and held together by silver cords.

“Sit still,” she cautioned him, placing the talisman just above the gash on his left side. ”Byddwch bob amser mewn iechyd da.” she incanted, allowing the talisman to twist and spin above the wound. Small pieces began to fall from around the center stone, the arid shards sparking as they touched Jaklo’s blood, the crystal itself spinning and flashing with faint light. Soon, the veins and muscle began to reform, but slowly.

“This charm should ease the pain. It’ll quicken the healing process and mend the torn arteries and muscle, but it can’t fully heal the gash. Once we get back to W&R you’ll want to see a more skilled healer, but until then I’d say you’re down for the count.” Cassandra stayed next to him, knowing he might need some help getting up and steadying himself. She pocketed the talisman and looked at the tightly packed mage inside the golem. Some kid really did all of this?
Replied to the collab. I actually like the idea of the heroes showing up late and having to deal not only with Odette and Gene Co., but also Cowl's forces.
@jasonwolf Hooray, Cassandra can come to the rescue! . . . ish.
@GamerXZ Oh you're good. Life comes first, I fully understand, I was just making sure that you still planned on being involved.
Who's do for a post? I've been avoiding making one because I don't think that Cassandra has that much to contribute to the current situation, especially seeing as how several previous posts have been left on cliff-hangers and I want to see how the golem responds before jumping in and doing something reckless, lol.

Also, @Witch Cat I'm great, how art thou?
@Nytefall From what I understand, Racheli was injected with some form of alien virus by the company Gene Co. and, unlike others they have infected, she responded well to it and became a metahuman of sorts, gaining access to certain enhanced states and abilities. She, at some point, got away from them so the Cowl, criminal overlord of Lost Haven, was contacted and his goons were sent to bring her in so that Gene Co. could take her back.

If there are any other important details other than that @Fallenreaper, could you correct me? I've been keeping up but I'm sure there are a few things I've missed for as long as this arc has been going now, lol.
@Fallenreaper We'll puppet Icarus and get everything figured out, and thanks for the info! The portal the brings Odette and Racheli through will be enough to tip off Holt to their general location. A quick zip through the magical door of wonder and they'll be in that general area, where the police will likely tip them off to Ironworks.
@Nytefall Ah, gotcha. Lol then they're going in blind but that's fine. Makes things more interesting
