Also, @Ebil, you had two characters before I did. :P I only just added a third, and I know I can handle her because I already play her in the Carlily fanfic.

I picked it out of Google. DON'T JUDGE MEBut yeah, I figured it was probably a fanart of some random thing, so I decided to get lazy and use it. I'm pretty happy with the transparency and minor shading I added, though. It's good to photoshop something after so long.

Lol, every time I use an anime-style image I wonder how many people are looking at it and facepalming because it's so and so famous character from such and such famous anime.

Unrelated: Athalian Idol Episode One is up on the Yuku for anyone who wants to see it. In previous pad conversations, I learned that although I posted it in here when it was finished, pretty much nobody saw it. So, there's that.

And I really need to figure out who I want to be the next guest.

o-o;I was just saying we haven't decided. So far both DP and Theo are cool with doing a summary. If DP wants it, DP can have it since Theo did it last time. So that those that want to, have a chance to do it. But if DP doesn't, then Theo is more than welcome to make one for us. Your last one was great. ^-^

I only offered in case nobody else wants to. Don't want to take Theo's job if it doesn't need taking. :P

In the mean time, I've been gradually putting stuff on the Yuku in preparation for the move. Carmen, Mizuki and the newly accepted (via Yuku PM) Vikki are all in the Character Sheets subforum, and once I get home tonight (I'm in the school library right now) I'm going to start cooking up some intro posts. Can't wait. :D

I'm currently doing something...rather different. But still technically roleplaying. :D

Naginatas are on the extremely offensive side, which comes with the great price of having nothing else to use for defense. Mix it with spells, and you can come up with crazy crap thanks to the extreme length of the weapon....Now that I think about it, we don't have that many "tanks," do we? I'm getting a feeling that Macbeth is going to have an extremely easy time fighting in group battles if you take his into consideration. He's immensely tanky and has anti-magic priorities if he's near three people. o_O

Definitely not on the Athalia side. I don't know how many of our villains you'd classify as tanks but I don't think we have a single tank student, unless Bedivere counts as one.

Also that. In a universe with supernatural abilities and abundant firearms, I feel like the katana is much more suitable than an unmodified broadsword.

Still, I'm wondering why no one came up with a lance/spear/naginata weapon user. I lovelovelove the naginata because it's basically a freaking sword attached on a spear's handle.

Guardian type users with massive staffs/spears/etc. are one of my favorite things. I just haven't had a need to make one in this RP, especially since it's more about supernatural abilities than traditional weapons (which is probably why we don't have that many kinds). None of my characters with abilities have weapons of any sort, but Vikki does because she has no abilities.

I didn't know about the naginata before I just looked it up. That's pretty sweet.

I go with katanas without exception for a number of reasons.

1) Katanas are beautiful. I don't find straight swords nice to look at unless the hilt is really ornate, and honestly I don't find European curved swords good to look at either.
2) Katanas are generally fast, agile and precise. That's what I like. I know there are straight swords that can be, but when I think of straight swords I think of big, burly broadswords wielded by tank-type users. When considering a character of that type I generally prefer massive staffs to swords, so there isn't really a situation where I'd use a broadsword.
3) I love everything Japanese. When making Vikki I actually looked up different Japanese swords to use in place of a katana but didn't find any I liked as much.
