More and more people began to file in to the party, and the excitement continued to gradually intensify. A few students were beginning to jump up and down, and Carmen decided to ratchet up the crescendo that had started with the soothing tones of Tom Harrell and would eventually end with a combination of Eurobeat and a screaming trumpet solo...because why not? While she was serving the audience, she'd never miss an opportunity to flaunt herself a little bit, and a screaming trumpet solo was just the ticket at a party like this. But...all in due time.

She hadn't seen Allan walk in but she had spotted a guy holding a huge boombox, clearly enjoying the atmosphere and the music very much. He looked at her and was pressing some buttons and dials on the boombox...perhaps he could manipulate sounds? In any case, Carmen wanted to find out, so while her trumpet sound was slowly changing from soft flugelhorn to Wayne Bergeron she took one hand while holding her trumpet in the other and motioned for him to come up to her. The thought of making music with someone as enthusiastic as he seemed to be was a very enticing one - the guitarist seemed to be off in his own world. Nothing wrong with that, but Carmen enjoyed musical collaboration. Plus, the crowd needed energy. While Carmen was providing enough on her own judging by the crowd's reaction, she figured a guy with a boombox could help the crowd out even more. She watched as he leaned against a wall, hoping he had seen her gesture and following him with where her bell was pointed.

In the mean time, I'm actually a little lost as to what to post. Carmen has been supplying the ever intensifying background music, and if someone came and pulled her into a conversation the music would stop. I'm assuming eventually everyone in the party is going to start dancing when the music gets sufficiently high energy and then Carmen will be able to really go nuts but until then I'm not entirely sure what I can have her do, short of temporarily handing off music duties to nameless NPCs or something.

Carmen - Student Center

Carmen had stayed in the Student Center the whole time, from the end of the duet with the guitarist to the start of the party's guests strolling in. For most of that time, Carmen had played music to herself, and when she wasn't playing she was pondering. She could occupy herself for weeks in this way, but as the first guests started rolling in as the SBG was setting the intro atmosphere, Carmen began to play dedicated background music. She mostly played soothing jazz ballads, playing all of the parts at once through her trumpet. When she played Sail Away, you would swear Tom Harrell's quintet was playing on the stage. She hoped to create a soothing, welcoming atmosphere for the incoming guests before the hard-hitting music that was sure to follow once the event officially started began. Sitting on a stool playing in a corner, she did not invite attention to herself except through the music she was making, which nearly begged the passersby to stop and listen.

The boy who gave the speech at the opening ceremony was there early, assumingly the organizer, but was restless for a reason unbeknownst to Carmen, who hoped her music would calm his mind. The rest of the SBG was milling like ants to get the party set up in time.

The pirate girl had also stayed around the whole time, and was visibly vexed to see an evil looking man enter the Center. Carmen recognized him from when she was in the garden a few hours ago, but paid him no mind. He could be the nicest person in the world.

An extremely energetic male with a boombox soon came into the Center, and Carmen wondered if his abilities also had to do with music. She guessed that they did, and figured he would probably be great at the high energy music that would probably show up at some point during the night.

A male dressed in red showed up, and although his color choices suggested demonic origins, she felt like it was something else.

As all these guest filed in slowly, Carmen surveyed the scene from her corner, often making eye contact with the guests. As the atmosphere gradually increased in energy, with the disco ball spinning, outer space on the ceiling and more and more people filing in, Carmen matched it by increasing the energy of the music she was playing. She wondered if anyone would join her by the time the really high energy stuff got going. She was certainly enjoying herself though, watching the guests mingle and occasionally react to her music.

I think I have sufficiently improved Carmen's CS to be satisfied for now. I completely rewrote the Personality section (it's about the same personality, with more emphasis on the diva-ness, so all previous interactions are still applicable) and added some things. Off to the IC for posting!

I'm spending an unhealthy amount of time improving Carmen's CS. I will update when complete and probably IC post. Right now, I must retrieve my laundry from the dryer.
