I'll be finishing the OOC up today. Stop by the piratepad if you have any questions. I'm getting the sense that people want some more freedom with fantasy races, so I'm going to change things around with that. My preference is to take the standardy races and make grimdarkish versions them and call them by different names other 'elf' 'dwarf' etc etc. Likewise, I'd like to stick to humanoid races only, so only not-elves and not-dwarves. 'Beast' races in this setting were all originally bred by dark magic for the express purpose of fighting wizards' wars for them, and they are inherently violent and cruel. Think Tolkien's orcs and Warhammer's beastmen.
I'm still thinking things out, suggestions on this score are welcome.

Welcome to the Grimdark.
OVERVIEW OF CONCEPT
Premise: We shall be playing in a low fantasy world that due to the appearance of a lovecraftian force of darkness in the centre of the world has been sent down the drain to its current (Grim)dark fantasy state. This is a remake of Serp88's original Sacrilege War RP.
In terms of influences, think Tolkien meets lovecraft meets europe during the bubonic plague. The world is a crapsack under siege by eldritch forces. All mortal (And some immortal) life wages a war of extinction against impossible odds and regularly loses. When not fighting for their lives, civilizations commonly turn on each other over petty issues with tragic results. Benevolent gods are progressively becoming weaker and weaker, impotent against the relentless assault of darkness. The living stand defiant with collective awesome might, however for every step heroes and warriors take forward, the living as a whole take three steps back.
