I asked a question once and he hit me with a chair :(

Not you gold, no questions for you.
Ok. Sorry for bothering you so much, I'll get my character done soonish.

Don't be silly! happy to answer questions.

Yea. Gaia's spawn usually are a bit overpowered. Thor kills a snake large enough to wrap itself around the world. I could make it more of a Pagan God, than any RL Parallel like Gaia. The Pagans have thousands of gods, mostly un-named and simply just, existing. Is there any sort of Paganism? Like the pseudo-Christinity?

My other post was unclear. what I meant to say is that I'd like to avoid real-world mythological divinities, just like I asked Lone Wanderer not to use a pseudo-Christianity type religion. Feel free to make up religions, demons, gods, spirits, that are worshiped across Geryon.

I only ask because I was planning on making my character Gaia's Daughter, which would be the main reason why she had so few mutations considering she was born from one of the corrupted Immortals.

I don't think you need to go that far to explain her not being mutated, but if you want your character to be the daughter of an Immortal and some powerful earth spirit, that's fine. I'd rather we leave the exact nature of said earth spirit somewhat vague and avoid the name Gaia, since obviously that's a mythical divinity in the real world.

Like, Gaia, Embodiment of Life, Cronos, Embodiment of Time, and Thanatos, Embodiment of Death. Do they exist, or are they simply anthropamorphic personifications without an actual being, like Santa Claus, or the Easter Bunny?

The existence of God or gods will be left an open question for this RP. There will be no 'canon' cosmology or magic system, and characters are free to have their own beliefs and experiences with spirits or gods, and these dont need to be reconciled with other characters experiences and beliefs. I'll play ref a bit for these sorts of things to make sure it doesnt go overboard, but there's a high degree of latitude allowed to players. A character in the Empire of Aldebaran would likely be a follower of the Cult of Dagon, which worships the dark lord as a god and practices extensive human sacrifice. I'll give more details about the cult as we go, but players playing members of the Cult can feel free to develop details about it as well.
@Flagg That's good. I'm completely fine with being defeated, i expected it when i asked to be part of the resistance. As long as my downfall makes for a good story, i'm game.
As to religion, would you prefer the order follows a pantheon of gods, or did you have something specific in mind in-regards to religion? I assume there was one before Dagon, and that's likely what the order would believe in.

Edit: They might not even have a religion, acting more like the Knights of Solamnia (Dragonlance) who followed a strict oath and measure encouraging honor and typical knightly stuff. Which i do like the sound of.

Their religion/philosophy is completely up to you, and feel free to make up a transnational world religion that was common in Aldebaran pre-Dagon. I just would rather not have pseudo-Christian crusaders, is all. All other details are totally your call, feel flesh out the world as you see fit!

Ok, last thing. How much do the Embodiments - like, Life, and Time, and Heat, and Death - actually exist? Its all well and good beliving in them, but beliving a sword won't kill you hardly helps when it is rammed into your gut.

I'm not sure I understand?

'Likely'? So, I can add some cool little twist that'll minimize the mutation while still putting them rather aside from humans?

yeah- level of mutation/whatever is up to you. they would not themselves be an Immortal though, one of Dagon's five chief lieutenants. They'd likely be a Perfecti, even if a quite powerful one.

You're also, of course, welcome to RP as one of the Immortals as well.

I plan on making a disgusting faction that won't help much. Perhaps a mafia.

Ha. Awesome. Varyon would be a good place for a mafia, or some other nation that's been conquered.
Hmm, would you allow a small kingdom or principality influenced by the crusader states? Religion being their predominate ideal, and being a militaristic order. That would at the start at-least be resisting Dagon and his legions.

Yes. Two notes: I would prefer the crusader kingdom not to have pseudo-christianity as its religion, because pseudo-christianity is a pet peeve of mine in fantasy settings for some reason. Second, resisting nations will likely have to a) band together to survive b) oocly, their creators have to be willing for them to lose and even be destroyed.

So, these 'Immortals'. Have they got any children? Can they have any children?

Interesting question. I pictured the Immortals and Perfecti a bit like vampires, propagating through some horrible initiation rite. I suppose there's no reason they can't reproduce sexually as well, though. Their children are likely to be twisted, mutated monsters. Which is...fun. So yes, allowed.
Is there a definitive technological 'ceiling'? Black powder, metallurgy, printing, etc.

I would rather keep it to the tech available to high antiquity. More advanced tech is fine in some areas, but gunpowder is a no...unless you convince me I should allow it.
So in the casein population and military numbers I'm going to assume the demographics of the high European middles ages would be a fair analogue? Post-Black Death/Famine? And then also accounting for prolonged warfare?

I was aiming for a population of around 6 or 7 million and a possible levy of around 10,000. The military itself would be largely composed of veterans and 'professionale' (by trade and necessity). I'm still aiming to make an independent, resistant kingdom, on that note. One that's probably on its last legs and contending with an apparently hopeless war, famine, and a swelling refugee population.

That sounds good. we'll be using the high middle ages as an analogue for population, probably not post-black death since we are in the midst of our worlds "black death" equivalent. You can up your numbers a bit from what you proposed.

A resistant nation sounds good, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
