Dawn Agresta - Beacon Cliff - Tuesday morning

at last the time had arrived for Initiation and she had set off with everyone else, gear collected, mind and body warmed up, and breakfast had in the meanwhile. She hadn't talked with many people, but that was understandable given how nervous everyone was, or otherwise eager to see what would happen with all of this. She knew that she had started to really wonder, and as it drew near her own anticipation increased in turn.

Arriving at the cliff, she took up her position on one of the pads that seemed to wait for them. At that point she devoted her attention to listening, especially as they gave out instructions for what was to happen, and how the Initiation itself would take place. The task itself seemed simple enough, albeit difficult in its own way. They just has to find some Dust crystals and get to the end of the forest. That was easy enough, especially for the people they were asking it of.

She was, on the other hand, far more skeptical of the team selection process. Really, they were going to go with something as arbitrary as 'the first person you see'? How would that even work from an administrative perspective? They'd need to have the entire forest bugged, or simply rely on the honors system to make it worked. And while admittedly the latter might be true, it did defeat the point of the instructions in the first place, so far as she could tell anyway.

Sadly, it seemed she had no say in the matter, but for the moment it was irrelevant as things started happening. Specifically, it turned out that those pads they were standing on were actually giant catapults of some kind, which sent each student launching in turn. Fortunately she wasn't first in line so she had the chance to brace herself, Stern Iron and her notebook on her person and ready to go.

In a moment she was flung into the air, sent flying over the forest in a way that she was fairly certain defied all natural laws in the process. At least she hadn't lost her notebook, and with that she turned to her landing strategy. Reaching out, she held Stern Iron in a firm grip, letting the tips catch the stronger branches that whipped by, which served as impromptu hooks. She spun and flipped, diverting her momentum in upwards directions as she descended, until at last she landed on the ground.

The Emerald Forest most definitely lived up to its name, she decided as she glanced around. Thus far there was no one in sight, though she had to imagine there was at least one person nearby. With the amount that had been sent off it would be hard for that to not be the case.

Well, there was no point in sticking around here. So after brushing off her shoulders she holstered Stern Iron and began to walk through the forest. Time to get this over with.
Leaving Hunter to have some common sense and not overwork himself, Kevin left what he was doing behind and followed after Terra, as she led him through the streets of Lavaridge. He figured that she knew the best places to relax in this place, so he was willing to follow her, at least for the moment.

Soon enough they arrived at a small cafe, Terra taking a seat at one of the outdoor tables and gesturing for him to do the same. Kevin did feel a momentary pang of longing for air conditioning or something similar, but he wouldn't voice such complaints to his host. A nice cold drink would work just as well.

"I'll just have some ice water," he told the waitress once she had come over, before turning to address Terra's question. "I'm from Saffron City, in Kanto," he told her matter of factly. "As for why, I wanted to go somewhere with greater individual opportunity." It was true enough, though he would leave the important parts unsaid for the moment. She didn't need to know about that, and hopefully she wouldn't suspect a thing.
Dawn Agresta - Beacon Courtyard - Tuesday Morning

It had been an early morning for Dawn, she would admit. Perhaps it had simply been the gathering of all the people there, or her nerves had finally gotten to her, but she had found it somewhat difficult to sleep, and as a result she had gotten less than she would have liked to. It had led to an early awakening, though she had noticed that she was not the only one to get up at an early hour, compared to the rest of the class. But she supposed that it was to be expected, given such a diverse group.

Picking up her things, she made her way outside, past somebody lounging around by the door, and into one of the exterior courtyards. Her bag was laid on the ground before she removed Swift Iron from their holsters, revealing the dual machine pistol tonfa to the outside world. She flipped them about, examining them and making sure that they were in excellent condition, like when she had left for Beacon.

Fortunately, they were. These were her weapons, which her brother had helped her to make, and she treasured them for that. They were good for defensive fighting, melee combat, and they provided her with ranged capabilities as well. Plus, they were simple, compared at least to the absurd combo weapons that people could pull out and that she had seen. There was something comforting about it, since it meant that less could go wrong.

Notepad left lying on her bag, she held a tonfa in each hand as she stepped to the middle of the green grass, settling into a combat stance. After a deep breath she began, getting in some exercise to warm up before the Initiation began. She went through a routine of blocks, kicks, stabs, and flipping her tonfa so they could be used as guns, all while working up a sweat in the meanwhile. Whatever happened, she would be ready for it.
This might be the sort of thing Dawn would be willing to write about and then 'accidentally' leave lying out for someone to find.

First thing about the rule of cool - Don't talk about being coll (or wanting to be cool xP)

At any rate, I can already discern this whole situation is going to end horribly for a few of the characters. At any rate, best some of them make their daring escape, lest they get caught up in the consequences.

Which rule is 'Cool guys don't look at explosions?'
Okay, so stealing came to nothing. Can I at least make a daring escape? *Just wants tobe cool* ;_;
Name: Genevieve Darrows

Age: 14

Nationality: French

Picture/Description:

Abilities:

Personality: Genevieve is a kind soul, respectful of authority and her parents, and always willing to lend a hand to those who need it. she has a stern side to her, and likes to think that she is above 'childish' things, but does have a sense of humor to her that can manifest when she isn't in formal situations. When in formal situations, she is courteous, acting with poise and grace, though she can be cold towards strangers.

She is also a calm, collected, and a thoughtful person, who always thinks before she acts, though this can lead to not taking advantage of all opportunities when they appear. She also has no eye for romance beyond what she has read in novels, since she believes that that has been determined for her, though she does have the slightly romantic wish of meeting someone and being swept off her feet, but that is something she only tells those she can trust. She also enjoys reading.

Bio: Genevieve is the sole daughter and the heir to the Darrows family, a family that can trace it's lineage back to minor French nobility, and is fairly well off themselves now. It was into this situation that she grew up, educated and groomed to be the heir of the family, to take over their business empire, and everything else that that meant for the young girl as she began to get older.

Growing up, she was tutored and trained, subjected to lessons and not given much time for herself. Yet as an only child she accepted it without complaint, doing the best she could to please her parents. It's only recently that she has begun to chafe somewhat under this rule, and to wonder if there might be something more out there that she has missed. Yet being enrolled in an Academy for the privileged and the miles of schoolwork that it means, she hasn't had much time to wonder about that. Instead she acts as she ought to, interacts with her peers who will eventually become business associates and political contacts, and does her best to live up to the burden of the family name and what it represents.
