The trip was fairly long and Alex was definitely kept busy, as he had expected he would be. He had no complaint with that though, since he was used to doing grunt labor. He hadn't always been a master thief after all, and had his own share of regular skills. And what he lacked in those the twins were more than willing to provide.

If there was one complaint, it was their current companion Tori. Needless to say she did barely any more work than was absolutely required of her, spent most of her time reading, and was utterly insulting towards him at near every opportunity. He had gotten the understanding that she worked for the Imperium, but that was no excuse. If he hadn't been in hiding he would have beat her up, but sadly he had his cover to keep so he could only suffer through it.

But at last they arrived at Aquaria, the trading heart of the Imperium and a stop on their journey to their final destination. This place was practically a thieves heaven, and that made it all the more annoying to Alex. Not that there wasn't money in it, it was just too easy. With all the profit flowing around here it was like taking candy from a baby to do crime. He wanted something with a challenge.

Departing the ship, he was confronted by the sisters rapidly departing, earning a smile and some laughter on his part. "Sure, go ahead. I'd love to come with." He could use the meal and he wouldn't refuse the hospitality. So with that in mind he followed after them, to the Grand Library or wherever.

-----------------

Alex ended up seated at a table with the twins and their mother, who definitely looked similar enough for there to be an obvious resemblance. He had put on his best smile and affable attitude, playing the part for this family gathering that he had walked into. At least there was food to make up for it, which he sampled when able.

"Oh no, there was no problem," he replied with a smile and a shake of his head. "They worked me ragged but that was part of the deal so I can't complain." True enough, unfortunately. Well, he had survived it and would continue to do so.

The insinuations following on the heels of that were something he would have objected to, but Tori made a fine distraction as he insulted her, as she had done for the entire trip." Yes," he replied as he rolled his eyes, bringing sarcasm to bear. "I hitched a multi day trip from the Capitol to Aquaria so I could sell a gold watch. Because that would definitely be an effective use of my time." Apparently she hadn't paid attention to any of the conversations he had taken part in at any point since they left port. Or when leaving port, for that matter. Or before they left.

He nodded then as Berlina introduced herself, respectful and courteous to the authority figure no matter how humble she might be. He knew better than to draw the ire of a person in a position of authority. Friends in high places were always a useful thing. "A pleasure to meet you ma'am. I'm Alex Kincaid, lowly grunt worker and aspiring treasure hunter. Though I guess everyone is doing that these days."
Strolling along towards the Witch, Carina was rapidly growing tired of that whole process. This was mostly a result of the sheer crush of people that she had to shoulder through, most of whom were paying attention to the street ahead and thus reluctant to get out of her way. The hassle dug at her nerves until she had enough of it, if only out of exasperation and nothing else.

"Fine," she grumbled to herself. "We'll do it the easy way." She could spare the magic after all, so what was the harm in getting a higher vantage point over the place that she was trying to go to?

She at last ducked into an alleyway that wasn't being observed, and once there she produced her soul gem. For a moment her eyes were transfixed, the shimmer colors that were pretty much stainless and flowed in her eyes. This, this was her salvation, her liberation. She would take the responsibility soon, but for now she just wanted her peace and her freedom. Was that too hard to understand? For her parents, it seemed to be.

But, no more time in waiting. With a thought she held the gem to her chest and transformed, light flashing and filling the alley for brief moments before it subsided, with her in magical girl form. "Awesome," she said to herself with a grin before activating her powers. She rose off the ground, aided by the feeling like a solid platform was beneath her feet even when it wasn't.

Up she rose, moving into the sky and headed for the nearest high point she she could find, which ended up being a church steeple for some cathedral. No one was looking at her, that was for sure, so she made it easily, and settled on the slanted surface with a grin. Ah yes, this was the life.

"Now ten, where are you?" She looked around for the general location of the Witch and settled down to observe things from her eye in the sky. She loved being a magical girl.
Hm. Conclusion: Fly up to the highest point I can find and see if anybody notices me. That should solve the problem quite easily ;p
Carina just wants to be a flying carefree existence. If you try to kill her then I will be obligated to drop you off of the tallest building in the city.
Isotta Nascimbeni

The scream tore through the air, shaking Isotta from whatever holy musing she might have been partaking in at the moment. The plea for assistance was desperate, drawing on old memories of that night in Prague, even if she couldn't remember the exact events that had occurred. Chasers could handle it, of course, like the person who rapidly departed to deal with the problem, but Isotta felt some obligation to do so as well if only out of similar situations.

"I will be back shortly," she said as she rose to her feet and moved for the door at a swift walk, which would develop into a sprint once she exited the Cafe. Black robes flowed around her as she moved, zeroing in on the location of the disturbance and tapping into her gifts at the same time. 'Lord, grant me divine speed to overtake the enemy" Muttered words heeded result as she sped up, though skeptics could argue whether her plea had been responsible. Results could not be argued though as the sky shifted to a red, heralding her entry to the domain of the Crimson Sky.

This place, she was no longer scared of this place. She had been trained, prepared, and now she made this her domain, rather than that of the beasts. Drawing near she caught sight of the source of the disturbance, some figure on the ground, a Chaser attacking, and a horde of what seemed to be four eyed wolves. As it stood though they did not seem to be particularly dangerous opponents on their own. She would just need to thin out their numbers first.

Reaching beneath her robes, she would emerge with several pages. A muttered word and burst of energy would shift them to long swords held in careful grips. She would draw closer and then toss them in snap throws, each blade aimed for a separate youkai. They would not know what hit them, as she moved to resolve this conflict in a swift and decisive manner.
Welp, given that Carina is currently strolling towards the "Witch", I guess I should figure out who I run into.
Personal arc, nothing concrete that I've thought up yet. Presumably something involving accepting responsibility or that just hiding/ignoring from your problems doesn't work. And I can't say the few ideas I do have, since that would be telling ;)
@Flamelord

Did Ruiko step into the Outliner or Palace portal?

She went into the Ouliner portal, sorry.
<Snipped quote by Flamelord>

B...but, but Dariya only wants hugs and kisses.

Sorry, Carina doesn't swing that way. Try again later :p
*Looks at posts of murder and fighting*

Carina wants no part of that. I mean, it's not like you have to watch out for the quiet ones who don't actively want responsibility anyway, and I have no ulterior motives in significant amounts of violence breaking out.
