Am I the only one who is getting kind of tired of DSII bosses sort of relying on minions? Like, it was intense the first few times, but eventually I started wishing for a boss that was good enough and difficult enough on its own merit, instead of the game throwing waves of minions at me. The way I see it is if I'm fighting off a boss's little goons, I'm not paying attention to the boss and its design or all of the cool shit it can do.

Hit boxes are pretty screwy, yeah. Poise still seems to be the be-all end-all of winning in PVP; dunno how many times I've been stunlocked for eternity by a guy with a fire longsword. But I've killed as many invaders as I've been killed BY them, so it's all good. Oh, and latency still makes magic a bitch to dodge. Because not being able to evade the constant spamming of great soul arrow because of lag is just 2fun4me.

So far, I've downed the Last Giant, The Pursuer, the Lost Sinner, The Old Dragonslayer, the Dragonrider, the Ruin Sentinels, and the Belfry Gargoyles. Maybe another or two I've forgotten. Right now, I'm working toward killing the Executioner's Chariot. This game is brutal so far, with some moments that feel kind of cheap. But overall it's a great experience so far. I forged the Dragonrider's Halberd with Straid, it's pretty effective when I need to switch to a shield.

I've also gone on a sort of helping streak, laying down messages almost everywhere. One of my most rated messages is "Try merchant", in front of the Pharros Mechanism in the building where you find the second Forest of The Giants bonfire. Dunno why that one is rated higher than the one I put down detailing the area below the Belfry Luna Ramparts after the gargoyles. Maybe the Pharros lockstone thing isn't so obvious?

First boss down, level 13 swordsman. Dual wielding the standard shortsword and scimitar because shields are for candyasses.
I'd be the pony that offs itself by jumping off a cliff in the darker episode of the show.
I have all of my Collector's Edition goodies displayed riiiiight next to my Dark Souls 1 collector's edition and hardcover strategy guide. And next to that, is my Tenacious D lunchbox.

NPC Summons function like any other summon. They'll help you fight against any and all enemies including invaders. Watching an NPC summon and an NPC invader duke it out is quite a spectacle. Oh, and most likely because NPC summon/invader AI is laughable at best, most are tanky as fuck. NPC invaders less so, however. Perfect example of a tanky NPC summon: Iron Tarkus. You will learn to love him soon.
Oh, and get a weapon centered around dexterity. Dex weapons are pretty much the absolute best weapons in the game, bar none. Sure, strength weapons can output a lot of damage, but not only are most strength weapons slow as fuck(like, REALLY slow. Not even worth using), quite a few dex weapons can match their damage, and even do more with the right scaling choices.
