Have you read Batman stuff made by Miller? Thats where Batman gets the more evil sides from. xD. If you don't wanna read them, I think Linkara or Comicstorian or Comics Explained goes over how psycho he is pretty well.

Note me saying "Alternate Timeline" Batmans. The DC Universe is full of various multi-verses and characters like Batman have several doubles, even Batmen that seem like the Original Batman we all know and love, but are actually an alternate version.

The "original" batman has always been Neutral Good, neither lawful nor chaotic.

Hey everyone!

Wow you guys got an interesting read in the OOC *munches on popcorn*

Be that as it may, I was wondering if this is still open for applications? Seems right up my alley as I love superhero RPs.

So far he's said nothing about closing up ^^

Batman has always been Neutral Good, unless you talk about alternate-timeline Batmans.

And the Alignments aren't really as outdated as they are misunderstood. Good does not mean good and evil does not mean evil in their case. Kind of complicated in their theory, it's best not talk about them and just make sure our characters don't all act like crazy heathens.

Edit: Terror is a crazy heathen.

@FrozenEcstasy Not everyone is going to play their characters the exact same way. SO in short does it really matter?

Not in the long run, no.

LOL No worries, I'm working on an Angel or something like that. Not completely sure yet. Eitherway, the character is gonna be Neutral or Neutral-Good. But honestly, don't think too deep into it. Thats essentially just a very minor basis for the character. It doesnt solidify who the character is in their totality or what they may become later down the line.

Nope, it's just less variety. ^^;

Pretty much. She works in any setting. But from what I'm getting they're thinking of super grimdark, instead of say, Batman TAS gothic dark which is a much better darkish medium. There is a reason why Batman is much more well known and liked than Watchmen, for example. And ofc Harley came from TAS and is a fan favorite, and TAS made... (I forget the actor's name) almost the definitive joker voice. Same with Batmans actor.

Eh. I'm not good with total brooding grimdark characters with no other traits but brooding and dark like these two seem to think a serious character is. That type of character is just too one dimensional. I'd lose interest pretty fast if I was forced to have to use one of those. IMO a serious character is a character thats well fleshed out and feels like a character or person, even if a bit warped. I mean, Hulk, Iron man, Hawkeye, Capt, even Deadpool are serious characters but have lots of comedy to them. Would you deny they're serious?

Okay, can we not make sarcastic asides at people who wish for the argument to cease? And I don't desire you to be dark and brooding, just not a mood killer for those of us who didn't look at superhero rp and think "I wanna play with a bloody cartoon."

It just sounds like you can't handle some equilibrium. Dark stuff needs comedy to contrast the dark and enhance it, otherwise you just get super boring things. Imagine Batman TAS for example, or Adventure time, or Steven Universe. They have their dark and their comedic. Sure the latter two are more lighthearted, but if we do batman TAS for example, they still had comedy all the time. Mostly joker stuff, but it was still comedy. Heck, did you see all the innuendos that Harley was involved in?

I'm not going to argue any more. I'm leaving if the character goes through without some kind of death that can be achieved. Our characters are supposed to start out lower tier with room to grow, and your character doesn't have that. I'm not going to play with it, end of discussion. I'm not flooding this thread with any more debating.
