Kay kept watching as John seemed to be going above and beyond into helping Serena. She felt so thankful that he was helping her so much when he could have left her to die. She couldn't understand why she felt so compelled to help Serena herself, or why she just had to have her on her side, which only got more curisour when Serena started talking about the two of them as her eyes glowed silver. She kept a friendly firm hold of Serena as she saw the smoke and seal die out and finally leave Serena's body, making her slump and go unconscious. Nodding at John's words, she let go of Serena's words as Chas got intto a position where he could pick up the woman and take her to one of the spare rooms, which he did leaving Kay and John alone in the main room.

"thank you for helping her John." she first said, placing her and on top of his own hand, seeing just how worn out he was. The idea that whatever bit Serena was designed to bring Serena down once and for all was just another large bombshell that she was trying to compute as well as knowing she saved her from that demon attack only a couple of hours ago now whilst dealing with that infection made Kay feel all the more greatful for everything that was done to keep her safe. "what do you think what she said meant? Worried about the flamed messenger? Did she mean me?" she had to ask him, realising she was still touching his hand and pulling it away. "am I really that much of a big deal to this whole magical world?" she asked, waving her hands round her to gesture the whole world around them. The idea of her being anything than normal was absolutely baffling to her as she never saw herself as anything but average."only thing I know is that I need a bloody stiff drink" she commented.
Kay found herself continuing to try and calm Serena as calm as possible whilst she was watching what John was doing. As he combined ingredients in the bowl and what she guessed was enchanting them in some way, she kept an eye on Serena before John eventually spoke up once more telling herself and Chas what to do. Chas nodded and walked round, squatting down and holding Serena down by her legs whilst Kay nodded. "got it" they both said in unison. They let John angle Serena in. A position so he could help her and went silent so he could work, seeing the seal appear around them before they both witnessed the red smoke escaping Serena which they both could summarise as being to do with the demon's attachment that was on her. As Serena screamed and cried in pain, Kay and Chas kept her down whilst Kay also kept ahold of her hand. "you're doing great Serena... Just keep going" she reassured her, "come on, you wanna feel how warm my wings are? Then keep going" she told her, wanting to say anything to keep the woman fighting for her life.
As John jumped down and told her to lay Serena on her side, Kay did exactly as she was told whilst brushing the woman's hair out of the way of the bite mark on the back of her neck. She remained by Serena's side but made sure to keep out of John's way so he could actually do what was needed. At the order pretty much shouted at him, Chas quickly hurried to where John kept everything and grabbed what he could that he recognised as being used for purification purposes. He ran downstairs with it all and gave it to John as John explained what they needed to do to Kay to which she nodded. "I'll help in any way I can" she replied to him before turning to Serena, "its gonna be okay, John can help you'll see" she told her trying to give her as much of an reassuring smile as she possibly could. "tell us what we need to do John" Chas requested from him, also wanting to help. Seeing the young woman on the floor expressing how much it was hurting did get to him emotionally. He never wanted anyone to hurt, not in this way and it was clear that Serena was in incredible amounts of pain to him, yet he also had a lot of faith in John and his abilities.
Chas listened to what John was saying, nodding at his words, "yeah she said she took care of the demon, but not before she got bit" he explained to him, as Kay was still talking to Serena downstairs. He was about to say more when he heard the crying happened downstairs, making him also look over the balcony and see what was happening. "well bollocks." he agreed, "guess you'll be helping her even quicker. Kay refused to let Serena die" he told him. Kay quickly squatted down on the floor beside Serena wondering what the hell to do to help her she had no idea how to stop the fitting, finding the only thing she could do was hold Serena's hand to try and give some kind of support to show the woman she wasn't going anywhere. "guys!! PLease help her!" She called up, looking up and behind her at the two men above her. Her eyes pleading for the help, not wanting anyone else to die around her. She looked back at Serena, "I'm not going anywhere, I'm here." she told her.
Kay and Chas both nodded (albeit for different reasons) at Serena's words about hoping she could trust everyone here and that it wouldn't put John in a difficult position. With Chas goi g upstairs Kay listened to what else Serena had to say to her, making her smile very slightly. "I hope we're both in the right place and I'm glad you found me as well Serena. I'm not afraid of what I am, I'm just...confused about it that's all. It's a lot to acknowledge when I thought I was either crazy or just normal" she explained to her. "if that even makes any sense at all" she sort of half chuckled sheepishly.

Chas hesrd what John said, finding his words suddenly explained why he was witnessing his beatt friend pacing back and forth the way he was. "okay 1) we're talking about that later and 2) it's about Serena. Her behaviour is down to a bite mark on the back of her neck from something that came from Hell. Happened a few days ago and she's getting feverish. She's also says she was blessed by the Shadow of the moon. She's his vessel. That's why demons are after her as well as Kay." he explained." she didn't want you knowing as she shouldn't even exist and she doesn't want you to be in a spot where you kill her. She just wants to live like Kay does. But right now she needs the bite mark seeing to or she will be dead." he continued.
Kay and Chas listened to Serena as she explained when she was bitten and by what. Out of the two of them, only Chas had some sort of idea of what Serena was talking about, whereas Kay had absolutely no clue. Looking at the bites and hearing it was from something from Hell he just knew it would require John's magic to heal them up and no amount of normal human remedies would work. But either way it would have to be dealt with sooner rather than later or Serena would be in even more trouble than she already was. As Serena said that the reason John couldn't know was because he might have to kill her, Kay refused to let that happen instantly. "ain't happening. I won't let him but he needs to know and if you don't tell him, he'll figure it out. He doesn't seem the type to let it drop once his curiosity is piqued" Kay said, getting the nod of agreement from Chas as he noticed how spot on Katy got her assumption of John.

Kay looked back at the woman once again as she explained what she was, looking over at the shadow wolf that she had appear. Hearing that she was similar to herself made Kay all the more determined to not let anything bad happen to Serena. "I won't let anything happen to you. You saved me and now it's my turn to save you" she told her, as Chas stood up and went upstairs to see John pacing with a book. "we gotta talk" he told him.
Kay nodded and was glad that John agreed to leave them to it, "I'll stay and help" Chas said, knowing that if something was needed to be done then the girls would need him around to get anything required. With John out of the room, Kay stayed with Serena and Chas, letting Serena take her time in talking to them both, before she admitted she had feeling unwell for a few days and revealed the bite on the back of her neck. She looked at the bite mark before glancing ups at Chas who also inspected it, wondering how he didn't see it before when attending to her head wound. He carefully inspected it, feeling that was not a good thing, especially judging by the way she was getting feverish. "well bloody bollocks...do you know what bit you? And when this happened?" he asked Serena tentatively. "why can't John know? If he knows he might be able to help with this. I can tell he feels bad and thinks your feverish state is his fault" Kay added, wondering how she could help her new ally/friend. "we need to know as much as possible so we can help you, we need to bring your fever down as well somehow." she added. She just wanted to help and without all the I formation she was feeling pretty useless, as was Chas.

"you can tell us, John won't hear from where he is, especially when he gets involved in his research. He zones everything else out until he sees purpose in talking to anyone else" Chas tried to reassure the woman in front of him. Luckily, the first aid kit was still on the coffee table, so he opened it once again and searched through it to see if anything would help to sort out the bite mark.
There was only one reason Kay could possibly think of for her mother to keep such a big thing from her..to keep her safe. From birth to aged 9 she showed no signs of being magical in any sense, the only thing she had her firey hair which was just like her mother's, except her mothers was shorter. She was close to her mother after all, and up until she disappeared/was killed, her family life was a happy one. She had a normal childhood just like anyone else. At the advice of staying away from old metals, she gave a single nod, "got it" she replied before she had to go and see to Serena. Chas shook his head at John's question, "none of us had anything to drink yet and I'm seeing it too" he said back to him.

In the bathroom, she gingerly took Serena's shaking hands and held them to try and comfort her as she stammered how John couldn't know something. If John and Chas didn't follow her, she would have asked what he couldn't find out, but she wasn't going to do that with the two men around. "you're staying here tonight Serena, you nerd rest and I wouldn't be able to sleep and relax if you were out there" she told her, letting Chas walk over and pick her up, helping her back to the couch, where he put her down. "why don't you let me see to her? She'll talk with me but not if you two are in earshot" Kay suggested, hoping that what she said was correct.
Kay nodded at John's words. Granted, it had been a long time since she last attempted to kill herself. It was mostly in her teens when it happened because she felt so lost and troubled as no one accepted her except for her adoptive family. In her eyes it was just what life dealt her and she learned to believe that it just wasn't her time, when all along it was because she couldn't die no matter what because of her bloodline. The only thing unknown to her that could kill her permanently was indeed iron, whether it be in a bullet, blade or any other weapon sized shape. When Serena stood up and went to the bathroom, Kay couldn't help but glance toward her before looking back at John as he spoke to her once more. "I don't remember much at all, I guess I suppressed a lot of that day when dad walked out. My best mate's folks were friends of our family and it was them who took me in. They don't know the truth, or that's what I've grown to believe as it was them who sent me to the hospital. If they knew anything I'd like to think they wouldn't have done that. What I don't get is why my mother didn't tell me what I am. She kept that from me the whole time, brought me up to believe I was just a normal human child. So on that basis, is it really that odd that no one else would know if she didn't even let her own family know what she was?" she explained.

As she spoke with John and Chas, she had no idea what was going on with Serena in the bathroom, finding it was only when the shadow fox was trying to get their attention that she got the feeling something wasn't right. "I think there's something wrong with Serena" she said, going to get up and before anyone could stop her she went after Serena, following the shadow fox. "Serena?" she called out, managing to find her. "Serena! What's wrong?" she asked, squatting down in front of her.
"I can bring some supplies back with me in the morning after I've dropped Geraldine off at school if that helps?" Chas offered, knowing that he couldn't back out of that as he swore to his wife and daughter that he would take her to make up for not being around too much just of late. If he didn't take her then he would be in the doghouse yet again with Renee, something he really didn't want after working hard to gain Renee's trust that he wouldn't keep being late coming home.

As John stated asking Serena questions about what her deal was, Kay was glad that the attention about when she last ate was removed from her. She didn't want to dwell on that as it was quite frankly depressing and she didn't see it as a good story to tell round a dinner table. She only half listened to what was being said until Serena said her name, making her look up between Serena and John. She wasn't expecting such a forward question to be said to her, taking her off guard for a brief moment. "oh uhh...I don't really know to be honest. I didn't even know what I was until that demon called me a phoenix." she admitted. "I know it sounds crazy, considering how you found me but it's true. I haven't really tried to do much else. Though now I think back on everything, my failed suicide attempts do now make sense. And why the cold really affects me so much more than anyone else, or that I can be so close to an open fire and be burned" she explained. She didn't know how what she said would go down eith anyone round her, but if she was to truly get help she figured she did have to be honest with them as well as actually listening to them all.
