Due to her computer being opposite her bed at the other end of her room, she saw the notification pop up when Dean messaged her back. Crawling off her bed, she opened it and read it, glad to have him coming to her rescue once again. Except this time, it wasn't from school bullies. She didn't respond just incase he wouldn't get the message, but instead went to her bed and sat on it. She found that her pillow just didn't give her the same calming effect that Dean's jacket did.

She glanced over at her mirror that was mounted on the door of her wardrobe and saw her face was beginning to show the signs of a black eye. Sighing sadly, she let herself get lost in her thoughts which was only halted when Dean's familiar rap on the window breaking her out of her thoughts. Looking up, she saw him, clambering off her bed she opened the window and stepped back to let him inside.

Her eyes puffy from tears and the black eye coming out, she perched on the end of her bed looking down at her lap, partly scared of him seeing her in such a state. This was the side of her that she never wanted him to see. She didn't know what to say to him or how he would react to everything that he had witnessed, she didn't know if he would ask questions about why she never said anything before or if her father had even done this before to her.

She could hear her mother verballing tearing into her father for hitting her once again and that he needed to sort his anger out. She didn't want to get involved or be anywhere near her father in this moment but hearing her mother defend her and not take his shit was of some relief to her. She admired how her mother could stand up to him and not be a victim like she was.
Before they drove away from Dean, she heard what he said to her through the window and nodded, knowing that after this she would not be okay on her own. She needed him more than ever now that he had seen for himself first hand just what she put up with when her dad got angry. She cried as she tried to keep her eyes on Dean for as long as possible until he was out of sight.

She sat forward and looked at her lap, refusing to look at her father for what he did to her and said to Dean. She wanted to scream and yell at him for treating him so badly when Dean had done nothing but protect her and make her happy. His anger and judgements were all being aimed at the wrong person but she knew if she did say anything, she'd just get another hit. So all she could do was sit there submissive to the main person she was afraid of.

The drive back to her home was only around ten minutes but it felt like forever, the silence deafening. When they got back, she got out the truck, grabbed her bag and stormed inside the house as her mother was standing in the open doorway waiting for them. She ran upstairs to her room, slamming her door as loudly as possible, making the walls shake in the process.

She threw herself on her bed and grabbed her pillow hugging it and crying before deciding to go to her computer, turning it on and going to the one place she could send an IM to Dean.

"I'm sorry you had to witness that
I wish I could say he's not like that normally
But it wouldn't be true
I'll leave my window open like always
I'm scared Dean... Meekox"

She clicked send and hauled herself back to her bed where she curled up on it, hugging her pillow again, but not before she unlocked her window like she always did, but kept it shut just incase either of her parents came in.
She hated her dad for interrupting them, she wanted to know what Dean was about to say, she wanted to hear what he was thinking or how he felt, why he liked her so much. Yet her dad had other ideas. She wished it was her mother that found them as yes, she would be angry but she wouldn't be violent or terrifying like her father always was. She didn't want Dean to see just how bad and controlling her father truly was to her, to see why and what was the trigger for her not taking the bullies at school well. She wanted to go back to that happy moment that they had only moments ago.

When her father sneered at Dean, she knew Dean wouldn't just let that go but she was fearful for his safety if he didn't just let her go. She looked at him wide eyed, almost pleading to not get involved but he saw differently and grabbed her father's wrist to confront him.

Her father smirked at Dean's attempt to protect Mika, "you don't wanna do this boy. You Winchester are all the damn same, arrogant sons of bitches" he snapped, roughly pulling his arm out of Dean's grip. "I will do what I damn well want with my daughter. You stay the hell away from her" he warned, pulling and tugging roughly on Mika's arm making her wince and cry out in pain as she was dragged to the car. Her free arm reaching out for Dean, "DEAN!" She cried as she got lifted and roughly shoved into the truck, the door shutting behind her.

He walked round to the driver's side and got in, telling her to not look back at Dean. She cried at him, begging him to be like this but all it did was make him punch her, causing her face to snap sideways and almost smack into the window, tears falling down her face as she watched Dean, her hands on the window.

Her father drove them home silently, not apologising for his actions.
Kay slumped back a step or two as she sighed with relief when Serena woke up and the adrenaline did its job. Josh didn't even need telling as he was already going to Serena's side as John was telling him to do so. "you scared the living crap outta me woman" he told her, pulling her into his arms and hugging her.

Kay stepped over to John and Chas to give Josh, Trish and Serena space. "she scared all of us" she pointed out.
When they broke from the kiss, Mika noted how he didn't let go of her face, taking in the soft gentle touch he gave her as he stroked her blushing cheeks with his thumb. The calloused fingertips never once bothering her as she was used to feeling his hands in such a way from the daily hand holding. She too didn't know what to say at first, so to keep quiet as he tried find his words was easy to do.

She gently shook her head when he said about not being known for his romance but she still smiled. "I... I know you're not. But I don't care. Romance isn't why I like you Dean. I like you because... Because of who you are." she said to him. "you make me happy, I feel safe with you. Y.. You're my bestest friend and... And I like you more than that for..for who you are with me. N..not for your romance, but r....rather your lack of it. You're real with me" she stammered as she tried to explain her mindset on him and why she liked him so much.

She chuckled lightly once more, liking it when he gave her hip a squeeze and she felt like she could do nothing except for hugging him, her head being under his chin.

"MIKA CHAMBERS!!" came an all too familiar male yell from the near distance moments later making Mika freeze against Dean before reluctantly pulling away just enough to see her father storming over looking more than angry and she knew it'd be one bad evening with him. She shakily used her hand to search for Dean's, gripping it. "h-hey dad, I'm sorry, I know I'm late..." she mumbled, but loud enough for him to hear her as he got closer.

"you are in serious trouble missy!" her father shouted at her, once close enough grabbed her other hand and yanked her from Dean so hard, Dean's jacket fell off of one arm, making him yank the whole thing from her and throwing it at Dean.

"I told you to keep away from my daughter!" he sneered at Dean.
Her making the first move surprised even herself. Mika normally wasn't that kind of girl, she was the shy one, the one who just let Dean have his fun in school and waited for him so they could walk most of the way home together, or then go to the nearest shop to get a drink after school. She knew what he was like but she didn't care, he was her best friend, her only real friend. He didn't care that she wasn't the popular girl, she wasn't the typical 'pretty girl' instead being that typical girl next door type which she considered plain and boring, but he always made her feel differently. Or like it wasn't a bad thing to be.

But she just had that feeling that one of them had to make the move and she wanted to know if she could actually be the kind of person who could do that very thing. So that's why she took the risk and just gave him a peck to test the waters between them. At the question of what that was, she blushed and tried to find the words but nothing would come out no matter how much she moved her lips to speak.

"I... I.. Err.." she fumbled wondering if she did the wrong thing but when she glanced down as he removed his hand from his and followed his hands with her eyes, she was quickly seeing she didn't do anything wrong. In fact, she did the complete opposite, just the right thing. She closed her eyes as she felt his lips on hers, sparks soared through every inch of her heart and soul as she kissed him back, her arms slowly slid round his waist, her fingers gripping the back of his shirt.

The cold breeze not even bothering her as she remained in his jacket, standing close to him, partially on tip toes. She let her mind log every moment of their first kiss, the way he tasted, the way he was soft and tender with her, the way his lips felt against hers, his breath on her face....

She didn't want to pull away but she knew if she didn't, she wouldn't be able to catch a breath. So she slowly pulled away from him, but didn't let go of him, smiling and blushing greatly.
The lunch they had was more than perfect in Mika's eyes. The sharing of the milkshake made her think of all those high school books, shows and films she had watched where they do exactly that and she would take the piss out of them, but having done it herself she honestly understood it. He made her laugh more than she ever had before which was a testiment in her eyes as they always had a laugh together. She couldn't help but find it so amusing that the waitress seemed to be really rooting for them with the photos and leaving them be at other times. She too wanted to kiss him at several points in the diner but she was far too nervous to do so. She was never one for the big public displays of affection and this was so new for her.

Now they had spent the rest of day skipping school all together which she no doubt would cause the school to call her parents as it was so out of character for her, she didn't care what consequence that would cause for her. She was genuinely happy. More happy than she ever had been before. She was with her best friend, a best friend she had more feelings for and he for her. A best friend that could possibly become more than that and she was honestly on cloud 9.

She knew normally she wouldn't be happy walking around Sioux Falls in the dark, but she never felt afraid with Dean beside her, even if she didn't fully know what his work was with his dad. He just gave her that sense of security and safety. The fact he wasn't afraid gave her that sense of being content doing the same.

Reaching the playground and sandbox, she stepped in with him keeping her hand in his and looked up at him as he spoke to her, bumbling his way through his words yet again which just made her feel so much more endeared to him. "I am happy. Happier than I've been for a little while. I've had an amazing day Dean. I really needed this to get out of my head. I don't really know how these dates are meant to work either but I guess... Go on for as long as we want?" she replied, her tone showing just how much of a guess it was for her as well.

She glanced down shyly at their hands interlocked as they always were but it most certainly felt so different this time round. She then looked back up at him, taking in his bright green eyes looking into her black/brown ones, she so desperately wanted to kiss him, to make that move that would silently move their friendship to another stage and although they knew this was a date, she was still nervous to. Eventually (after what felt like an eternity but was only a few moments in reality) she went up to her tiptoes and with. A little bit of hesitation, finally took the plunge and pecked his lips.
Kay just about heard what Bane said which made her quickly turn her head back to Serena and the others as Chas and John seemed to be hesitating in when to give Serena the adrenaline. "bloody Hell's" she muttered under her breath as she walked over with two strong strides, took the pens out of John's hands, removed the cap and just moved Josh out of the way, administering the adrenaline into Serena's chest where she then pressed down on the pen to get the medicine into her.

She then pulled the pen out of Serena and dropped it into John's hands. She was done waiting and if Bane was feeling that invading her mind to chat with her was important, then she was going to listen to him and not the others. "come on girl... Don't make me administer another dose" she said to Serena, checking the woman's pulse in her neck and brushing her hair out of the way.
Initially Mika didn't even notice how Dean was looking at her, especially when she was so engrossed in doing what she considered such a normal thing. She never saw herself as anything special and just as Dean knew, she was happy just going about her life with no one really knowing she existed. Yet it seemed that was completely different when it came to Dean and she wasn't even aware of it. Which wasn't all too surprising considering she didn't even know he liked her more than friends until today.

It was only when she finished securing her bag and looked toward him that she realised how he was looking at her, making her smile in a way that was partly questioning and over the moon that the gazes she saw other students give their crushes was being given to her by the one person she always felt safe with.

When the bell rang for other's orders she glanced toward the kitchen out of instinct before glancing back at Dean as he asked her what she had done with her usual self, making her chuckle and sweep her hair behind her ear some more. She chuckled as she knew he had a valid point to make.

Shrugging she continued to smile, "I dunno, just fancied them over everything else I guess!" she chimed back, "guess today is full of surprises for the both of us" she chuckled once more, wondering how the day could have started off so bad and gotten so good. He just always had the effect on her she supposed. He was always kind to her, protective and like no other friend she could have ever had. He was considered the school's 'bad boy' and yet to her she saw a totally different side to him. A truer side to him she thought.

She smiled more, it clearly showing in her eyes as well as on her lips just how happy he was making her. He had defended her at school, came after her the moment he could, cheering her up in the process and now he was busting her out of school to take her to lunch, whilst also the two of them making it out to be a date and not just friends looking out for each other.

She was absolutely over the moon that he didn't try and tell her that she was totally misinterpreted the ramblings he made earlier. She was aware he was holding her closer to him than he ever had before and she really wasn't complaining in the slightest. She knew if her dad saw them like this he'd have fifty fits over it and drag her ass back to school or home for one of his violent lectures. A violent lecture she never told Dean happened.

As he leaned in a bit closer than normal she smiled and sniggered at him doing all that just to say one word before they reached the diner in question that he had in mind. Reaching there, she smiled as the waitress clearly knew Dean and in that second, Mika knew this was his regular place to go as she stepped inside after he opened the door for her.

Going to the soda bar as gestured to, she figured this was his usual area to sit when he came here, climbing up onto the bar stool and sitting down, chuckling at the waitress saying how she already knew what Dean would order. "umm.." she started to reply as she looked up at the menu, "can I just get some cheesey fries?" she asked politely the woman. Considering how much sher stomach was growling earlier, she was surprised that was all she wanted. She also didn't want to take the piss when Dean had said it was his treat.

She put her bag on the hook under the bar whilst also keeping it partly between her ankles so she knew it was safe. An action that was pretty much standard and common for her to do.
