NATALIA WINCHESTER

Natalia was hyper aware that Cason kept looking over at her and she couldn't fathom out why still. It baffled her that he was constantly seeming to want to get through to her when no one really could. Despite that though, she did have her head on straight, at least, as straight as she ever does. She walked partially over, standing between the two cars when Dean got out of the car, then proceeding to see Mika and Sam follow suit but remained pretty silent on everything. She instantly sighed and rolled her eyes when Cason agreed with Anna about splitting up, whilst also starting the whole annoy Dean stint all over again. The way they were talking, or more to the point, threatening each other, back and forth, she looked around their surroundings, determined to look anywhere but at any of their faces.

It was Anna's scolding of them both that made her actually at them all, folding her arms across her chest in the process, something she seemed to be doing a lot lately. "Nat you good with the plan?" Sam asked her, being aware of how silent she was still being, and like Cason, was concerned about where her head was at. "I'm good, I just wanna get this job done" she replied to him, as Anna managed to pull Cason back toward her. She could tell that Sam was asking again with just his eyes, seeing him so concerned about her always hit her hard and if they didn't have a job to do she probably would have just walked over to him, wrapped her arms round him and broken down into tears before admitting why she was being so off with everyone.

"Meet back here if all goes well and we don't get to meet up before hand. If all goes to shit? Well, y'all know about it!" she said to them before looking at Cason, "He won't slit your throat if you stop egging him on and making him angry." she pointed out back to him as she started walking away from her brothers and Mika, toward where they needed to be. "But as much as I wanna get blind drunk, we do still have to have our wits about us yeah? Despite my demeanour right now I don't plan on dying tonight" she told Cason and Anna.

---------------***********************-----------------

The three of them had been at the frat halloween party for a good couple of hours with not much going on which was baffling Natalia. Normally by now on most hunts something had happened, and the fact it hadn't set Nat on edge. She had drunk at least two too many cheap drinks and was ever so slightly tipsy, but still on the look out for anything or anyone that seemed out of place whilst she mingled with Anna, Cason and the other students. She used the time to suss out the students whilst on the dance floor, the alcohol in her system slowly letting her loosen up.

"I'm not finding anything out of the ordinary" she said to Cason as he was closest to her and she went against her standards and danced closely to him sos he could talk to him about the case without being overheard by someone else and causing a very awkward situation.

She also found herself wondering if the others were being any more successful than they were but in her tipsy state those thoughts soon vanished from her mind as she grabbed another red cup of beer from a student's hand, not caring that she just stole from them and downed the beverage before scrunching the cup up and throwing it on the floor. "Answer me this Cason, why did you say what you did in the motel? Are you trying to get under my skin or something?" she asked him, changing the subject. The question had been on her mind for far too long and now she had an adaquet amount of alcohol in her system, she couldn't help but ask him outright.

"Why do you care what's going on in my head?" she then asked straight after, properly looking at him this time and not trying to avoid eye contact.
Trish's words made sense to Kay, she knew deep down she was right yet it didn't fully stop the anxiety of the prospect of bringing a child up in this world. Then there was facts she hadn't even yet thought about: that their future child would be half phoenix, half mage and that would make her even more of ararity than Kay herself, putting her into so much danger. "yeah...you're right. I just hope we can be successful in keeping her safe" she replied, mixing everything together then carefully pouring the mixture into a square tin. "Wanna be the one to sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top?" she asked, changing the subject.

"Someone we gotta tread lightly around." Chas stated matter of factly before deciding to give more information on. "He and John have never liked each other and always screw each other over if they can. Papa Midnite is a voodoo user and someone who will gladly work with any asshole in the downworld to get what he wants. He killed his own sister so he could use her skull as a way of communication to the afterlife" he explained with an aggravated sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Shoulda guessed he'd hear about you know who and would want them for himself" he said again annoyed.
She started putting the ingredients together in a mixing bowl, managing to get the volumes of things just by eye and making sure Trish got involved as well by asking her to hand things over and such. At her question, Kay paused for a millisecond as she thought about her answer before replying, "I'm still scared crapless about it. I'm not going to lie, it's a lot to take in. But it seeming that the universe isn't going to let me have any say in this situation and I'm just going to have to get used to it. It's not that I wouldn't want a family with John, or think he's not worthy of being a father, because it's far from that... I'm just worried about being a mother and bringing a kid into this world of magic and darkness. I'm still getting used to the fact I'm not 100% human. Let alone in the future I'm a mother" she explained, trying not to use too many complex words. "saying that though, I know after talking with John about it, that I can have the hope we can do it...together." she added.

The shop keeper stepped forward and took the coin from her, scrutinising it intensely before putting it under a magnifying glass to check it further. "Interesting, very interesting indeed" he murmured to himself as he looked it over constsntly. Eventually he looked up and handed the coin back to Serena. "you said you found it at a scene of a fight? I'm guessing a magical fight if this is to help John out" he assumed. "I can tell you who that belongs to though" he told them all, "but whether you'll like the information or not is another matter" he added as he started pacing back and forth. "Chas you'll know him, it's Papa Midnite." he said.
Kay smiled and let Trish get up first and off the bed. She quickly scribbled a note for John to say they were downstairs and placed it on his bedside table, just incase he woke up panicked and she couldn't get upstairs in time. She then got off the bed and straightened her clothing out, "well then, I guess you'll be a good helper!" she said to Trish with a smile, and heading downstairs with her, straight to the kitchen. Once in the kitchen, she opened the various cupboards to find everything they'd need and the fridge to get out the other ingredients.

"it's an impressive amount of stock but I can probably guarantee that most of this stuff wasn't obtained legally" Chas commented after noting how Serena reacted to it all. "if it wasn't you, I'd take some kind of offence to that Chas Chandler" the rugged scrawny bloke behind the counter spoke up, walking out of the dark part and into the more lit area. "good job it's me then." Chas replied, "so what do you want? Where's John, you don't normally visit without him" the guy replied, looking around for the recognisable blonde in a trenchcoat. "busy elsewhere. We've come on behalf on him. We need you to identify this for us, so we can figure out it's owner" Chas explained, letting Serena hand over the coin.
Kay stroked her hair, tucking a few strands behind Trish's ear. "hey, you're not a burden to your brother. He loves you dearly, that much is very clear. Just as its clear that he'd do absolutely anything to make you happy and keep you safe." she told her. "but I can guarantee to you from what I've witnessed that a burden is the one thing he does not think about you as or see you as" she reassured her. Glancing around them, seeing John fast asleep and she figured her questions about her necklace could wait. "why don't we go watch a film on John's Netflix or something? He'll be okay here and if he does wake up and need me, I'll feel it in the bond. But you need cheering up." she smiled. "actually, I got a better idea...why don't we go bake some brownies?" she said.

Chas and Josh quickly followed suit in getting out of the cab, Chas locking it up swiftly after and looked at the shop. He really hoped this guy they knew could help them, and with little drama." let me do the majority of the talking" Chas said as he walked with the two of them to the door. He grabbed the handle and opened the door, a bell at the top ringing as he did so and stepped inside.
Kay listened to her speak, honestly understanding where she was coming from, even if their abilities were entirely different. Kay also if she was entirely honest with herself, saw a lot of herself in Trish to a certain extent, she could see how much Trish cared about other people, cared for her brother. The moment she saw the tears fall down the young girl's face, she moved the book slightly and pulled the girl into a hug. "like with everything else, we'll figure it out. You don't ever have to worry about anything alone okay?" she told her.

Josh shrugged as he sat in the back seat, "I don't know but something tells me we'll figure it out soon enough" he replied, hoping he was right but also unsure if he really wanted to know the answer. "these things always do." Chas spoke up as he turned up one more back alley that opened out just enough to be able park the cab. "it's that back door on the right there. The antique store" he commented.
Kay paused her reading when she heard Trish speak up, "you're not a freak Trish. You're an incredible young kid who is wise beyond her years" she told her truthfully, looking at her. "when I was your age, I thought the same thing about myself. I thought I was a freak of nature, I was lost and trying to compute my whole life had turned upside down and reset. My birth mother died when I was only 8 years old and by the time I was 9, my father walked out on me. Leaving me to fend for myself in our home until Sam figured out what happened. She told her parents and they took me in and adopted me, before they decided it was better if we all moved out of London and fly back to Seattle. But through that grief of losing both my birth parents, my phoenix side was starting to bloom. The nightmares made Fee summon our wings to wrap round me in comfort. I began hearing her voice in my head, making me think I was going crazy, Sam's parents put me into therapy because I was finding myself having sleepwalked miles from home some days, all because my subconscious mind was trying to ignite my phoenix bloodline...."

"so I get what you're going through Trish. But believe me, you are anything but a freak. You are incredible and far more smart than I was at your age. A girl who I know Josh is incredibly proud of every single day" she explained to her, lifting Trish's head up with her index finger and thumb and gave her a reassuring smile. "you got this kiddo" she smiled.

Chas nodded, happy that Serena agreed to keep her own truth a secret from who they were heading to see. "good. The less this guy learns about you the better. You need to keep the upper hand and advantage with him, just as you do with anyone who has links to the downworld." he replied to her. Josh too got into the cab when Chas and Serena were talking and waited for them both to be done, then looked out the window when Chas did eventually start driving into town and round the backstreets in particular.
Lexi knew that if she hadn't pulled away, she would have easily let herself and Dean take it further, despite being in a car that was parked in a public space. So she felt slightly thankful that she still had her wits about her and managed to stop them both before it got awkwardly further. She chuckled back when he agreed she should come out supply shopping with him more, seeing yet again that it appeared they were rather alike in their personality with certain things, which made her thankful for meeting him and wanting to learn more and more about him.

She sniggered at the comment about Sam geting whiney if Dean didn't pick him up in a reasonable manner, that one sentence showing what a typical older brother he was to Sam whilst also making her trying to mentally envision a whiney Sam Winchester, something she can't ever say she has witnessed in her time knowing him. If anything, Sam has witnessed her being the whiney and mopey one but that was to be expected considering how he met her. "Oh I'm definitely sticking around- for a start I can't go anywhere until I get my car back from the garage." she replied and pointed out.

However she only just about got her words out when she felt his lips press against hers again, even though it was much more gently this time round. Lexi gladly returned the gentle kiss before letting him pull back and smiled as he stroked her cheek just as he reached for the car door where she watched him run round and open the door for her. Stepping out of the car she looked up at him, "such a gent" she teased, then smiled at his little musing he said out loud. "I won't need much convincing, maybe this time I'll actually stay awake!" she laughed lightly at herself.

"come on, lets get what you guys need" she then said, patting his arm and started walking to the entrance door of the store they were outside of, grabbing a trolley when they reached them. It felt like such a long ago since she last did such a mundane thing like this with anyone. Sure she had done the odd supply run with Sam between hunts but they were quick small runs, and nothing like going into a proper large store and buying proper items. This time most certainly different for her now she was doing it with Dean, and she fully had the plan on not letting the Winchester boys just consume rubbish food.

"So what's needed?" she asked Dean casually, trying to be as casual as possible around the other general public that were also in the store. She decided to save any embarrassment she would act in her head as if everybody knew the boys and thus, would have known Dean's departed ex as she knew small-ish towns like these did seem to know everyone, even if one didn't realise it. Being the outsider quite literally, she didn't be the cause of unwanted attention or conversation hints to Dean.

=====================

Sam felt relieved that she took his hand to shake and didn't leave him hanging or think he was being too forward in any way. With his hand back, he shoved both hands in his jacket pockets. He watched as she signed out her name, understanding what she was doing but found himself wracking his brain to remember the ASL alphabet well enough to get a grip on what her name was as he only grasped the letters A and Y. Luckily he didn't have to panic for long as she got given the notepad and she wrote down her name which made him smile, "Anya? That's a beautiful name" he told her.

He watched on as she wrote what she needed, listening to the staff member's reply all whilst completely forgetting that he came in to get stuff himself to fix up his laptop a bit, even though it was in working order still but he was aware of it slowing down a little and knew he couldn't have a slow working laptop in his line of work. At her agreement to wait for the parts to come in, he couldn't help but smirk slightly in amusement at how sassy she was, even if she wasn't able to be vocal. She had a firey spirit about her, something that he found to be a common thing with women he and his brother came into contact with.

He wasn't expect her to then suggest going for a coffee with him, so when she did he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow but the smile hadn't left his lips. Before he could reply, he watched her write out the context for her offer and the calling of the staff member a dick made him snigger. Instead of bombarding her with a reply as the member of staff spoke to her, he waited for her to acknolwedge him again where she signed to him once more.

He gave her the look to say 'one moment, I can get this' as he really thought about her hand actions before just about getting the jist of what she was signing to him. "I trust you're nice. I have good instincts about people" he smiled, hoping he was right, but was confident that he was. "I got some time, so a coffee sounds good" he then replied to her. Dean would wait for him, and with Lexi around, Sam was more than certain that he could grab a coffee with Anya and still be back before Dean started calling him or fretting on his whereabouts.
Trish feeling warmth and light from it was interesting to Kay and decided to remember that as she looked through the book. She took it back and put it back round her neck again. "mhm... I'm hoping this book will give me some more answers. It's not let me down yet so I'm hoping I'll still be in luck." she replied as she flicked through it, reading the odd passage as she went. Subconsciously her free hand was twiddling the pendant between her fingers.

Chas nodded firmly, "I agree with that suggestion wholeheartedly. Without John being here I'm not risking that girl's safety or life by saying something we can't take back. John would kill me just on principle if I did" he replied in agreement. He then lead Serena and Josh back to the cab, opening the door as he got there. "I'd recommend not mentioning about Bane as well Serena. Keep as much about your own abilities to yourself as possible" he told her.
At Trish calling Chas 'uncle chas' Kay couldn't help but let a small smile appear at the corner of her lips. The idea that already Chas is seen as the uncle figure was quite something and she couldn't help but think Chas would be rather honoured at the appointed title from Trish. At the next question, her smile disappeared and glanced up at the kid. "oh! I was wondering if my necklace was in this book." she told her, as she lifted it up and over her head to show Trish. Her late mother requested she never took it off, but she didn't see any harm in letting Trish look at it for a little while. Handing it to her, she then looked through the book, "it was in a box of things my sister gave me from my late mother, my birth mother that is. I can't help but feel there's more to it than just being a necklace" she told her.

Chas shook his head at Serena's question, "since this guy saved Geraldine, John and I owed him one. We paid that back and now he owes us. This is that debt he owes" he explained. "he's a scumbag but we can trust him. He knows not to screw with John and people connected to him" he then added.
