Chas didn't like the idea in the slightest, he felt somewhat responsible for Serena even though she wasn't a child. "I really hate this plan Serena" Chas said to her, but didn't fight her on it. He scrambled his way out of his side of the car and stumbled round to Josh's side of the can. Opening the door, he helped Josh get free of the seat belt then helped him out of the cab, slinging one of his arms round his own shoulders and paused for a moment. "you sure about this Serena? I can get you out too!" he said one more time. He was so hesitant to leave her behind.

Kay found herself scrutinising the young lad's words. "wait...her, as in mine and John's future kid?" she asked, finding talking to this lad was bringing the whole future possibilities all the more into reality. "what's even your name? You seem to know us but we don't know you" she asked, slowly stepping forward and closer to the lad. "is there something worse coming?" she found herself spewing out questions, not even thinking about whether or not he was able to even answer them.
When Chas managed to get his vision to focus once more, he saw properly exactly the predicament that Serena found herself in. "double bollocks" he grumbled as he carefully tried to see how to move her with a ut injuring her anymore than she already was. The state of his cab didn't bother him as much as he knew John had put a spell on the cab to always come back, just like he did with him. Serena on the other hand was a very different matter as he was certain that unlike Kay, she wouldn't be coming back to life if she died. He then saw the three men coming out of the van and toward them, "shit!" he complained as he tried to Serena out a bit more quickly, but still just as carefully. "we need to get out of here" he said to them both.

The moment the young man turned and held his hands up in a defensive manner, Kay looked at his eyes finding they felt somewhat familiar. As he then continued to call her aunt Kay, she paused in her step and extinguished her hand, lowering it slowly. "a-aunt? Uncle? You're... You're Serena's future kid?" she questioned, eyebrow raised. "John is fine, I've got him dosed up on meds and resting" she told him.
Chas saw himself as a good and reliable driver but even he didn't see the van coming as it felt like it had come out absolutely nowhere. With Serena's input, he swerved out of the way but unfortunately making him hit the lamppost. He just felt glad he had a seat belt on, but that didn't stop him from hitting his head on the steering wheel and then falling back into his seat. With a groan he held his head, the area around him spinning as he felt some blood on his hairline. "bollocks.." he grumbled. "Serena, Josh, you guys alright?" he asked, but there was no response from Josh initially, "Josh!" he said a bit louder, his voice hoarse. "I-I'm good..." Josh managed to croak out, checking he had movement in all his limbs.

Kay heard a voice that wasn't John's in John's room which made her sneak up to the doorframe and hid out of sight for a moment, weighing up her options. She had to protect John at all costs and in this split second she didn't know if the intruder was friend or foe. With Fee's assistance, she ignited her right hand in flames and stepped inside, holding her hand up, ready to attack if it was necessary. "who are you and how did you get in here?" she asked firmly.
Chas sighed, "I dunno Serena. John will tell you no doubt all you need to know about Midnite and I know he, like myself won't feel comfortable with you finding Midnite yourself and getting information. It's far too risky and I won't put you in more harms way" he explained both options that she could be meaning by her words.

Hearing the footsteps still heading up just ahead of her, Kay followed them before deciding to do something that she always hated in horror movies, calling out. "hello? John, that you?" not sure who else who it could be, if anyone as none of the magic warding seems to have gone off with alarm due to an intruder. So in her mind, it had to be either John or someone who knew how to get in without setting wards off.
Chas focused on the road as he began driving them back to the millhouse and Serena and Josh talked with each other, Serena seemingly calming more and more as they spoke. He glanced at Serena through the rear view mirror and nodded, "I agree with that, but he ain't gonna be happy with what we have to say" he replied back to her.

Kay had to admit at first, she didn't hear the footsteps from up above, but now that Trish pointed out, she focused her ear on upstairs and low and behold, she hesrd them. "hmm...you stay here, I'll go check it out" she told Trish, pointing her finger at the kid as she gave an order, then headed upstairs.
Josh nodded in understanding, feeling slightly bad for calling the man her ex. He just didn't know what else to say to describe him at the time. "I see, I'm sorry, didn't mean to be a bit insensitive" he replied as he saw Chas get in the drivers side and start the cab to head back to the millhouse. "we'll figure this all out though, so just focus on remaining calm" he suggested.

Kay shrugged, "I mean, if he was sleeping well enough he should still be asleep right now. Why?" she replied to Trish, curious to what she was sensing or hearing upstairs that she herself couldn't pick up on. As far as Kay was aware John as still fast asleep and she knew no one could get in without setting off the magic warding off and them seeing.
Will reply when I can. Got two party bookings to work today so the reply will be delayed a little while
Chas listened to his words, hoping that Bane was right in not being seen whilst also deciding he had no choice but to just trust him on his word. "I won't" he told Bane just as he left to do his own part on the job at hand. Snapping is ut of his thoughts and refocusing back onto Josh and Serena, he opened the back door of the cab for Josh who carried Serena over and got her into the car then proceeded to get in next to her. "Darren's your ex....right?"Josh asked her softly.

Kay couldn't help but smirk ever so slightly, but not out of amusement. "I'm with ya on that one kiddo. I don't like it either" she replied to her. "life can seriously suck sometimes" she added.
At Bane's question and request, Chas was hesitant to let Bane get anywhere near to Papa Midnite but it did feel safer to let Bane go off than it was to let Serena do it. With a hefty sigh after he weighed up the options in his head. "I don't like it and John will probably have a go at me for telling you this but your best bet is to lurk around the dark alleys, the secret passages underground and such where the downworld lurks. Its where all the riff-raff and scumbags hang out, but Bane you gotta be careful, if people or demons or whoever get wind of what your doing? You're a deadman" he warned him as a friend.

Kay could see how Trish was, see the worry in her body language which made Kay wish she knew what to do to help. Clearly her words of reassurance weren't working. "you okay kiddo?" she asked tentatively.
Chas nodded in agreement, "trust me mate, the further we stay from Midnite the better for everyone" he replied to Bane, feeling more than okay with keeping clear from Papa Midnite. He watched on as Josh kept ahold of Serena and then proceeded to walk her to the cab, "I think we should head back to the millhouse now" Josh suggested to both Chas and Bane. "she needs to be somewhere where she can calm down and relax" he added.

"if she wanted to, she probably could" Kay replied to Trish, "but it's about whether or not she wants to, and anyway, Bane was there as well so we could probably ask him" she added with a non-committed shrug and bite of the warm brownie.
