The assailant seemed very set on taking Rodetta on in combat, and she had no choice now but to defend herself. Although she was a warrior through and through, she was not particularly thrilled at the idea of fighting and unknown opponent during a solo scouting mission. But the war gods had decided her fate and she was always prepared. After taunting her again with promises of violence and death, he moved fluidly and fiercely, like a deadly viper, swinging his sword in a manner that was both wild but precise, it was as unnerving as his voice and general demeanor.

She wasn't sure of his strategy so she just played it safe keeping her guard up until, the scabbard of his eastern sword was hurled at her face with the momentum of a swing. She was fast enough to see it but not fast enough entirely avoid the unexpected attack as it clipped her helmet and obstructed her vision. The scabbard was surprisingly heavy and even through her helmet she felt the impact enough to stun her back step for a split second.

Argh, you fiend!! You've sealed your fate now!

But that split second was all it took for the opponent to close the distance and swing his blade in a heavy sideways arc toward her midsection. But Rodetta was disciplined, although her vision was temporarily skewed she kept her shield tight to her body the whole time and the man's blade whipped against her large dragon scale shield with a hybrid scraping and clanging noise. The attack was blocked. But due to his scabbard attack she was too off balance to launch an effective counter attack so she increased her backpedaling to an instant backwards jump which put her a good 6 feet away from the man. Her lightweight armor allowed her to use her full athletic ability even when fully equipped. Her body started to heat up, there was red energy resonating from inside her armor that any magic user could probably sense.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is very much a reboot.

Its set before the original movie, so its a prequel. Its not a re-telling of the same story.

Its like when people say Mad Max: Fury Road is a Reboot, its a sequel.

EDIT: but the tim burton directed pictured one above IS a reboot. Its a re-telling and it was crap.
Sorry ive lost a bit of track of the posting, are the new arrivals getting off the train now?
I dunno, Rise of the Tomb Raider was pretty adventure-y and had Lara not pausing to say how terrible everything was. Granted it became less "Oh wow I'm gonna find a lost city" and more "Oh shit I gotta clean up my mess, whoops!" but on the whole it felt like a complete reversal of the Lara from the first reboot. The entire backhalf of that game is her just kicking all the ass before stopping to go diving in a leper colony.

Personally I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with reboots. It's just that they have a bad track record because people correctly assume that they can slap the name of a popular old thing and phone it in. Like the best reboots are the ones that know how to pay homage while also doing its own thing, like the Planet of the Apes reboot.

Also Sonic was always shit and the new ones just make that painfully obvious

It was really more of a prequel.

unless you are talking about the dog shit awful....

Almost instantly she got a response, a man with strange clothes was hiding up on the masts and let himself be known with cruel riddles and a disrespectful tone, he wasn't wearing the mark of a water dragon, so he must have been part of another faction. There was no time to do a background check, he began reaching for his sword as he advanced. Rodetta wasted absolutely no time raising he shield to steel herself, while still a good distance away from him she pointed her royal javelin in his direction.

You're too noisy to be a scout, I'm assuming you're here for some sort of lost treasure? You'll find none here. Now I have a job to do. So you have one chance to flee, I'm not currently at war with you or your people.

Rodetta's grip on her javelin tightened as she noticed he was bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet, she widened her stance and started to back step at an angle in anticipation of a bullrush attack. Noticing how absolutely large the main deck of the ship was. It looked like a vessel for giants not humans. The morning wind from the cove blew in gently, as if the cove its self was setting the stage for a fight.

@Artifex Im happy for someone to puppet her and have her walk home in shame or something, theres not much for me to write at this point.
More MRA goodness

Rodetta's trusty steed 'Cinders' took her as far as the mountain trail, but wouldn't go any further it began to whimper and pull away, as if to urge the mighty war princess to turn around. Rodetta dismounted and pet the horse while retrieving her crossbow and javelin from it's saddle.

I don't blame you Cinder, the rumors of this place aren't entirely unfounded, this was the site of some great death and evil at one point and the stench of demonic energy is probably still strong, but I have a campaign to to launch. And this is a very important strategic location for me to scout if we are to ever defeat the Water Dragon Clan, they have a powerful navy you know this.

Cinders listened to his master but the stallion still wouldn't move, he had made up his mind. Rodetta sighed and told it to head back to camp, while Rodetta checked alone, Cinder gave Rodetta a look of worry before turning around and beginning the long trot back to camp.

Rodetta knew the area was dangerous, as she took the steps down the mountain trail which lead to the infamous cove she could feel the violent history in the air. She wasn't particularly spiritual but she had a strong sense that the docked pirate ship of the dead king's crew wanted to be left alone in the cove and she was intruding. She stepped towards the ship as she got down the cove steps and found the boarding ladder. She cursed her father for sending her on another pointless war campaign. The Water Dragon Clan were a pompous but fairly peaceful faction and she knew her mad-king father declared war on them simply for having 'dragon' in their name. Foolish pride knows no bounds. She began to climb on to deck, when she heard a noise.

Show yourself, you're in the presence of royalty...whoever's there.
Name: Rodetta The Red
Age:26
Height:5'10
Weight:158 lbs

Appearance:
Abilities & Background: Rodetta is the 4th daughter of the Warlord King Ifream the Red. A noble yet ruthless conquerer who bonded his spirit and body to that of an ancient dragon, which made him incredibly powerful but aggressive and hungry for glory in battle. His daughter Rodetta inherited some of her father's fire dragon abilities, and she works as the princess guard (although she is a princess herself) for her 3 older sisters. Of all of the children, her love for battle is greatest, even equal to her vicious father.

Pyromancy
As an heir to the Dragon-King she has an innate natural ability with fire magic. She can hurl fire balls, cover herself in a flaming aura, raise the temprature of an indoor room (the smaller the more effective), and at her very best levels of exertion she can create explosive magic fire bombs which she can detonate and also thrust her hands into the earth, and sprout a very small volcano to sprout and erupt underneath her opponent, though the greater range this is done at the weaker the attack will be. It must be noted that she can still be damaged by others fire magic but is immune to her her own and natural fire.

Dragon's Blood
Although technically a human, she has the spirit and blood passed down from her father which gives her the ability to telepathically speak to dragon's and know where they are. Also able to call upon smaller drakes and baby dragons to fight by her side(but only for short intervals). She is also resistant (but not immune) to most dragon fire breath. Her most special abiltiy is one that not even her father can do, she is able to sprout dragon wings from her back, in times of great stress, and take flight, although this is at the cost of her human reasoning, and her normal high levels of skill and strategy will be traded for a natural dragon's rage. Although she benefits from a short burst of superhuman strength, she will not be able to use any weapons that a human would, simply preferring to rely entirely on fire magic.

War Princess:
Since age 10 Rodetta has been training to do her bloodline proud as a spirit of war. She is an expert with the shield and longsword combination and is also very adept with the Pike, Great-sword, and Battle Axe. She has little training with projectile weapons as she usually relies on her fire magic, but has a base level of skill with the crossbow. She is also a master strategist, experienced in leading army units, but specializes in small attack forces of 2-6, she is prideful but is also surprisingly good at working in a team. She is in amazing fighting shape and has trained her human body to be a weapon, she is tough, agile and has the will of a dragon, which means she is absolutely impossible to intimidate. She can also speak in dwarvern and chaos tounges, as part of her research into possible enemy tribes.

Equipment:
Dragonpride and Ironcrest
Her sword dragon pride has no real magic qualities but it is made of silver and mythrill, which makes it consistently sharp, and able to hurt werewolves, vampires and ghouls with great effectiveness. Its material compound makes the sword nigh unbreakable. The weapon is perfectly balanced for Rodetta's strength and dexterity.

Ironcrest is made from Iron and Dragonsbone, which makes it also nearly impossible to break, and has fire proof qualities. Although quite heavy, Rodetta is highly trained with this particular shield and uses its weight for heavy offensive sheild bashes to break her opponents stance and open the guard.

Red Plate Armour
Her armour is made from the kingdom's finest steel and has been woven with dragonscale, which makes it very light weight and tough, though the armour has many weak points to allow for mobility and can be damaged because of its low density. The trade off is that she can move in the armour as if she was wearing nothing at all because of its easy access.

Caltrops
Small multi-spikes that she carries that she can throw on the ground to injure opponents as they walk or run over them. Good tool for assailaints that are chasing her. Rodetta's armour protects her feet from these.

Royal Javelin Of The Red
This is a spear that Rodetta fights with while her sword is sheathed. Its has the same properties as her blade but is at its most effective when thrown because of its magical ability to 'home in' on living creatures, the stronger the life force the more powerful the tracking abilites. Of course even without this ability, Rodetta is a very accurate with a javelin anyway.
Okay standard fight, winner is declared when opponent dies, is incapacitated or gives up. Happy for judge intervention at any given time if we cant come to an agreement on anything or need a victory decision.

No auto-hitting, super speed or obnoxious post cutting.

Post CS in the Characters tab for reference.

I'll post first, best of luck.

We will be fighting here:

Pirate King's Cove

Main Deck: 50x30 feet. Surrounding Area: 150x200 feet of land space.

Ship is resilient but somewhat destructible, water surrounding the ship inside the cover is very shallow only 8 feet deep at the very middle and even more shallow at the edges. Cannons on deck still work. No magical properties.

When the pirate king arrived here, the bandits waiting for him already knew who he was and how much treasure he had aboard. They outnumbered his crew 200 to 40, but the Pirate King would not run, partly because of his pride and partly because of how much loot he would have to give up if he surrendered. The ambush was a drawn out a bloody affair and despite the numbers the more skilled crew of the pirate King managed to even out the numbers very quickly. With only the pirate king and the chief bandit left. They fought on deck, with hate and rage, having lost their entire crews. The final moment of the fight was when the chief bandit casted some demonic magic at the deck to create a huge explosion, which killed them both instantly. The cost of the spell was that the demon would then erase the names and legacy of the Bandits and the Pirates from history, so nobody would know their names. The largely damaged ship now remains at the cove forever, waiting for the new pirate king to take the helm.
