Vegeta wasn't anymore a fan of caging Viral than Shu was. If it had to be done however then so be it, he was concerned with the well being of everyone else on board too. That was an extreme resort and probably their last, there had to be another way. "Nothing is set in stone yet, we could avoid the cage altogether if I could just figure out how to help him..." Think, there had to be something to work with here. Viral had all the food he could possibly need and then some yet he wasn't changing. While it may be a source of discomfort it appeared that hunger was not in fact the trigger, nor was helping it the solution. "Remember... Shu, that's it!" Vegeta grinned broadly, having a stroke of genius thanks to the young Saiyan. Giving him a rather uncharacteristic hair ruffle the older Saiyan looked over at Yumi, "When he saw you he'd hesitate and let you close, so he recognizes you. If we can find something to remind him of himself, like his cleaver, then maybe that will help him reign in his power!" Agh, it was so simple and yet ingenious at the same time, Vegeta was rather embarrassed to not have considered it before. Seeing as Shu was rather timid around Viral right now he seemed like a good candidate to go out and fetch the weapon. "Shu, do you mind running another errand? Go to Viral's room and get his cleaver and bring it back. Be careful with it, it's heavy."

"He probably doesn't even know where it is, Vegeta. I'll take him then." Yumi figured that she was through here anyways, and both Vegeta and Takeshi could stop Viral if the need arose. The smell of the meats was making her uneasy still and she'd use this as an excuse to get away from it all. Walking around Takeshi to take Shu's hand she smiled encouragingly to him, giving his arm a small tug as she hastily beat a retreat from the room. Knowing too his phobia of tight spaces she made way for the ramp yet again, it was getting pretty well traveled at this point. When she could no longer pick up the smell of the food in the training hall she sighed in relief, rubbing at her nose before looking back. "Did you smell all of that...? It was so... Disgusting. I don't get how Viral is eating all of that now." She said disgusting, but Yumi found herself actually wanting some of the meat that her friend had been eating. It wasn't even cooked, not even rare and yet she was ready to sink her teeth into it.
"It was frozen so it would last longer, we do that to all of our food," Takeshi explained in a matter-of-fact manner. Shu had been eating pre-frozen food for quite some time, this was the first he'd probably ever seen it though. Granted this stuff was pretty thawed out as well, most likely going to be cooked had they not used it for this. Ah man, that probably meant they weren't going to have anything to cook with later. That stunk, now they were going to have to wait even longer to eat. At least it was going to a good cause. Whether or not it was safe to eat in its current state, well that was something else altogether. Viral was kind of a wild animal now, and they didn't cook their food, so Takeshi figured he'd be fine. Then again were he to change back with all that food in his stomach that might cause some problems. Not like they could cook it now anyways. He supposed blasting it may potentially solve that problem, but that also meant potentially blowing a hole in the floor... Viral could deal with uncooked meats.

Vegeta knew there was no certainty as to how Viral would act upon being released, but he had to have good faith that the Beastman would go for the food. If not there were four of them prepared to hold him back, so it was a safe bet he wasn't going anywhere. After Yumi had escaped to the door he followed in suit, having to tuck his leg up to avoid being caught by one of Viral's claws. Landing at Shu's side he watched silently as their friend stalked over to the food, thankfully not looking for a fight just yet. They had a few moments to catch their breath and collect their thoughts, hopefully it was long enough to come up with a real plan. "I don't know Shu... I really don't. This transformation is new to me too, I don't know what triggered it nor how to undo it." Vegeta scoffed at his own shortcoming, never pleased to be beaten by anything. If he could just discern the cause then he could remedy it in no time. Right now all he had to go off of was hunger, and that seemed too simplistic to be the case. "So long as he doesn't threaten anyone there's no reason for us to lock him up, so hope he's on his best behavior."
"Eh... Just let him eat the plastic too..." Takeshi said dismissively, not meaning to be hear by the others.

"Takeshi! You unwrap it! Shu go stand at the door!" Yumi shouted, not taking her eyes from Viral.

Sighing the older boy waved off his sibling, kneeling down as he began to undo all of the plastic and foil wrapping on the foods. Yuck... It was all either raw or hardly cooked, and slimy. Handling this stuff was nasty and his hands were beginning to reek of raw food. Awesome, so if Viral was still hungry after his feast he might well come over and eat Takeshi's hands too, just great. Grimacing as he undid the last few items he made it a point to lay out the bits of plastic and such, using it as a makeshift tray of sorts so the food wasn't on the floor. Not that Viral would probably mind even if he were to eat out of a toilet bowl at this point, his tastes probably weren't all too picky right now. With the last of it sorted Takeshi tried to clean his hands, eventually giving up and taking off his shirt, using it as a makeshift towel. It hardly got the stick or smell off, but at least all of the nasty juices were gone. That he dropped beside the food before going to join Shu, not really wanting to touch anything because his hands were so gross. Sulking slightly beside his brother he sighed, lifitng one hand and sniffing it before wrinkling his nose. "Eck... Ever wonder why we cook all of our food?" he asked, reaching over and holding a hand just under Shu's nose, smirking. "Here's why."

Okay, so things weren't going to go exactly as they had planned it. There was now potential for Viral to escape, what with the door having been busted open. Hopefully all of that food was enough incentive for him to remain here, for the time being anyways. Long enough at least for them to come up with an ulterior plan. "Alright... On three Yumi we let go and join them at the door. If he goes to the other one you and I can stop him. We can't let him out though." Not yet anyways. If they could ensure that he wouldn't rampage and attack the others then he might be more lenient. Otherwise Vegeta was intent on keeping his friend down here for the duration of the trip if need be, which certainly was no ideal. Picking his weight up off of the Beastman he continued to apply pressure with his hands, getting ready to draw back. "Okay... One... Two... Three!"

On three Yumi was more than ready to release Viral, darting away the second the word left Vegeta's lips. Racing over to the door immediately she took up a spot beside Takeshi, her eyes firmly locked on Viral to see what he would do. They might be were her nose not burning from the smell of the meats right now. It was part tempting and part sickening smelling them, she could really do without it. To try and alleviate the stench some she rested a hand beneath her nose, trying to block out the odors. The others didn't have any issue, even considering their enhanced Saiyan sense of smell. "So now what...? We just let him eat and hope it helps...?" she asked, her voice sounding slightly nasally.

"Either that... Or we knock him out to ensure he doesn't cause problems," Vegeta replied, landing over by Shu. "Which may happen anyways, so be ready to act if need be. I'm ashamed to admit I have no clue what this form is or how to help it, which I really should. I've let him down and now he might have to be caged because of my shortcoming."
"Good question... Hell if I know..." That part of the plan hadn't been covered exactly. Vegeta only told them to get some food, that had been it. Takeshi hoped the door might even be open for them once they returned, but sure enough it was still shut and locked. Stopping before the door he frowned, debating on how they should get inside. Shu was right, the door was much too thick to just shout through, especially if there was a lot going on just on the other side. Looking at the panel for a moment he wondered if he could guess the combination, then quickly dismissed the idea. The few he did know were ten characters long, and with 10 buttons on the pad that would take for absolute ever to guess the correct one. After a little bit of debate Takeshi carefully shifted his load into one arm and stepped over to the pad, biting his lip uncertainly. Well hopefully Vegeta wouldn't be too angry with him, he didn't see another way of opening the door. Drawing back a fist he punched through the console with ease, grabbing at the wires just inside and in one tug gave them a hard pull, stripping them from inside and throwing them onto the floor. After some sparking and a lot of uncertainty the doors slowly began to grind open, perhaps a response to having their wiring torn apart. Standing up against the wall as they opened Takeshi gestured for Shu to come over, not wanting either of them to be right in Viral's view.

Damn it all, why wouldn't Viral just stay still? It was such a handful trying to restrain him, albeit it became easier once Yumi caught on and joined in. Now the two of them had successfully gotten him forced to the ground they were more or less stuck until the boys showed up. Neither of them could move or the Beastman would break free again, and ideally they had to hold him furthest from the door as possible. After a moment of struggle Viral had at last set down, though the Saiyan didn't ease his grip on him. He felt at the first chance he'd break free and they couldn't afford that to happen. A short time was to pass before the doors finally began to open, something that rather confused Vegeta. He had locked them before restraining Viral, and he was fairly certain neither of the boys knew the combination. In fact the only ones who had an entire list of all combinations were himself, the head engineer and the doctor, for medical emergencies. Watching as the door opened entirely he raised an eyebrow not seeing either Shu or Takeshi, confused for a second before he rolled his eyes. "Come in you two! We've got him pinned, he's not going to attack you!"

Whew, that was a relief. They were both more or less stacked with plenty of goodies for Viral to eat, it was nice to know he wasn't going to spring up and attack them once they came in. Giving Shu a small smile Takeshi nodded his head, leading into the room first and letting his brother follow suit. Upon seeing Viral his eyes widened a little, not expecting a full blown, large cat to be sprawled out on the floor. Well the hair looked the same, and his face was kinda vaguely familiar. Otherwise he'd never have known it was their friend. Smiling awkwardly he stopped some distance away, shuffling off to the side and really not wanting to get in the way of things. "So uh... Where do you want the food? Figure this is going to be enough?"

"Plenty, put it over on the far wall." Vegeta said, nodding his head in the direction as his hands were occupied. "Then go back out and seal the door so he can't leave. I'll call over the intercom when it's all clear, alright?"

Takeshi flinched slightly when they were told to close the door. Not exactly possible now thanks to him, he thought, smiling bashfully. Laying out his selection in a pile he stepped away from the food, motioning for Shu to do the same. "Yeah... About the door..." he began, turning his head away as he scratched at his nose. "I might have kind of... Broken it... A little bit..." The lack of an immediate reply from Vegeta told him he had gone and goofed up, the guy had a tendency to go quiet when you made him mad. His smile became more nervous as he waited for Shu to set down his food, shifting his weight nervously on his feet. "Uh... It's probably not that bad. I mean I only tore out the wires..."

"Wonderful... Good quick thinking, as always..." Vegeta grumbled, closing his eyes and sighing. The food was on hand and the door couldn't close, this was a combination made in heaven if he'd ever seen one. "Right... Set the food down and you two stand by the door. On three we'll let Viral go and hope he goes for the food. You're to stay there until he's done, got it?"
Wait wha? ^

I feel like context has been missed.
How was he so steady? With both her and Vegeta pushing and pulling surely Viral should budge at least a little bit. Aside from teetering however he wouldn't move from his spot, he was steadfast where he stood. Grunting a bit as she exerted some effort she soon followed the Saiyan's lead and raised her power, trying to make use of the extra strength to restrain the Beastman. Ah, there it was at last, a little movement. The small increase in power had given her the means to make Viral teeter at least, and just a little more should do the trick. Yet just as they seemed to be gaining ground their friend-turned-beast had another idea. Abruptly he began to move backwards, much too easily compared to before. It was then Yumi realized he meant to topple down on top of her, and with a sharp gasp of surprise she released him and bolted away, narrowly being flattened in the process. Keeping herself well up in the air she looked at Viral surprised, not quite believing he'd actually just tried that. If he was willing to hurt them to get out of here then all the reason to keep him locked inside. "Come on science geek, tell me you've got a plan!" she shouted, eying Viral nervously. If not they may just have to knock him out. Whatever that little errand Vegeta had sent them on, to get food, it wasn't going to work fast enough.

"I do, we've just got to keep him busy! Don't give him room to try and escape!" The boys had to bring that food, that was the best theory he had right now. Even if it was a silly one it was all they had to go off, they had to try it. Watching as Viral rolled over on the ground he gritted his teeth, stopping his rising energy at a moderately high point. Okay, so this was going to be a contest of raw strength then, was that it? Damn, he actually rather wished that bothersome Leto was here right now, that man could likely restrain Viral. With the Beastman on the ground Vegeta took a chance, jumping after him and trying to keep him pinned to the ground. Throwing himself on top wasn't going to do a whole lot, he didn't exactly way a sizable amount. Instead he grabbed hold of Viral's front shoulders, pushing down with assistance of his Ki to try and keep him pinned. Yumi picked up on the tactic and did the same, attempting to force down his hind legs to immobilize him completely.

They shouldn't be raising their powers, that couldn't solve anything. Fighting Viral was only going to make things worse, wasn't it? There was the chance they had no choice too, that it was being done in self defense. That was even more worrisome, it meant he was threatening them. If it were him and Shu down there then sure, he could understand Viral attacking them. Shu he tolerated for the most part, but Takeshi was well aware there was animosity towards him. The fact that Viral was attacking the two closest people to him meant he was in a really bad way, and all the more reason to hurry up. Grabbing Shu's arm then he nearly dragged Shu to the mess hall, letting go as soon as they were in and the lights were on. The place was a total disaster and the twins and their father would probably be ticked, but they would worry about that later. Paying little heed to the mess around them Takeshi went immediately to the large refrigerator, undoing the lock and throwing it open, beginning to remove everything he figured Viral would eat. "I don't know Shu... I still don't get it..." he remarked, frowning as he removed another slab of fish. He'd eaten a lot at dinner, he'd even seemed ill afterwards. So how the heck was the guy this hungry?

Shu could hardly see where he was going with how much he'd taken, Takeshi had a fair less amount off food himself. Closing the refrigerator he looked at his brother exasperatedly, reaching over and taking the topmost package off the top so he could see. Hurrying right out alongside the younger boy the brother's went back down towards the training hall. On the way there they had passed Kabocha returning from the library, Takeshi not even noticing him as they rushed past. "I hope this is enough... This is more than even I would eat," he mumbled, looking past his pile to see where the ramp was. When he got to it he slowed considerably, not wanting to slip and lose everything he was carrying. Up ahead he could still feel their friend's energies, and was relieved that they had plateaued. At least they weren't rising anymore, hopefully that meant the immediate threat was over. Now hopefully they could get in there with all this food before anything bad happened.
Crap... This was much harder than he had anticipated. Not only could he not drive Viral back but he was losing ground. The only reason he wasn't going back any further is because a solid slab of steel in the form of a door was holding him where he was. Viral quickly improvised however, and since he couldn't push the Saiyan back he instead opted to push him down. Now with the combined weight of both the Beastman's raw strength and his mass bearing down on him Vegeta slipped to one knee, still barely holding up his friend's arms. Gritting his teeth he glared up at Viral, showing considerable strain in his features as he tried to fight back. Seeing no other option he began to bolster himself, gathering him Ki quickly to increase his own strength and hope to match it. The room whistled loudly as his energy smacked against the walls, his Ki rising quickly to a level that would hopefully give him the edge he needed. While he was focusing on raising his strength and trying to hold Viral back he didn't notice Yumi take to the air, and his eyes widened in surprise seeing her come down and grab Viral from behind. She could barely fit her arms around his sides much less his torso, but she began to pull back as he pushed, and yet they were still straining. This was just getting absurd, how strong was he?

"Viral...! Stop it! Someone's going to get hurt!" Yumi said, straining as she continued to tug at his hulking figure. Seeing no option as well she raised her own energy, hoping that between both her and Vegeta combined could deter him. It was those darn claws, they had him planted really firmly and he wasn't going to budge. Unless they maybe both tried to lift him up he wasn't bound to go anywhere. As fruitless as this little effort was looking at least he couldn't get out. Keeping this up for any extended period was questionable, the boys would really need to hurry up with that food, otherwise this could turn badly.

"Yeah, him eating them would be awfully bad... Obviously," Takeshi replied, glancing back over his shoulder. Go figure, the guy wouldn't touch his food at dinner and now he was going berserk not having food, he couldn't make up his mind. Cresting the top of the ramp the boys hurried towards the mess hall, the elder brother taking the lead since he knew where it was. A couple of steaks ought to do the trick, and maybe fish too. Cats liked fish didn't they? May be the safer bet since the Beastman seemed pretty put off at the idea of red meats, and feeding him that even now could make him ill. As if the situation weren't troublesome enough there was a sudden spike in energy, Vegeta was powering up. Confused Takeshi halted in his tracks, looking down through the floor in the direction of the room. Not long after that Yumi powered up as well, meaning whatever was going on they both needed to be stronger. Oh great, was a fight breaking out? That was exactly what they wanted to avoid, they needed to hurry up with this food. "Come on! We've gotta go!" he urged, grabbing Shu's arm and near dragging him along, racing right to the mess hall. No doubt everyone on the ship was aware of what was happening now, it was pretty hard to hide energy as big as Vegeta's and Yumi's. Hopefully no one else went to investigate, otherwise it could mean more problems.

The mess hall was all cleaned up and everything put away when they had finished eating. That was the state it had been in at any rate. Takeshi turned the lights on as they entered and was greeted by several pans and dishes strewn throughout the room, some clean and others with bits of food still in them. There were claw marks on the cabinets and floors, and it looked like someone had tried to get into the massive refrigerator too. Yep, Viral had definitely been in here. "Jeez... If he was this hungry he should have said something..." Hopefully there was something left, anything sizable that would help sate the Beastman's appetite. Undoing the latch Takeshi threw open the fridge, breathing a sigh of relief seeing the contents were all still there. Slabs of fish, meats and containers of fruits and vegetables lined the container from wall to wall, and it was a pretty deep container too. Even by feeding Viral they should have more than enough for later. Leaning over the edge he began to pull out sealed packages of fish, laying them on the counter hastily. "Grab as much as you can and we'll go, we've gotta be quick about this."
I'll hold off on posting myself for now, not entirely certain what I'd write anyways ^^;
Holding back Viral like this wasn't easy. Despite being rather ragged and malnourished in his normal state he was quite powerful now, giving Vegeta a run for his money. They couldn't let him out of the room, he was too much of a danger to be let loose. Unfortunately for the Saiyan his friend had much better lower body strength right now, and his claws gave him far better grip than Vegeta's boots did him. Sliding all the way back until he was pressed against the door he looked up at Viral, still straining to hold his arms away from the door. He was now gripping his other arm too, attempting to use the door to push himself away. Flying was always an option, he could easily lift off and drag the Beastman with him, there was no way he could do anything once in the air. That seemed like a low blow however, even if the situation would be easily resolved by that. Grunting as he pushed back Vegeta looked over at Yumi, seeing her standing there watching uncertainly. There really wasn't any place for her in this right now, all she would do was complicate things and she knew it. Back to Viral he tired to prop a foot up against the door, pushing back as best he could to force Viral away. "Viral.... Agh, dammit. This is an order, back off, now!"

"No, I... What? No! I didn't get that hairy. I mean I got harrier in..." Takeshi trailed off, really not wanting to discuss that with Shu. The little guy didn't seem like he'd gone through puberty himself yet, which was odd, so talking to him about it was likely well above him. Plus it would just be plain awkward. Thank goodness the conversation was derailed by Vegeta, that almost went places he really didn't want it to. So they wanted food for Viral, that seemed a bit weird. The guy had gone all feral because of food and they wanted to give him more? Before Takeshi could even say a word on the matter he was pulled up to his feet by Shu, being led back yet again towards the ramp as he was tugged along. "Wait... We're feeding him more?" the older boy called, hoping for a reply. There was silence on the other side, Vegeta was apparently too busy to answer. Sighing softly he kept after Shu, looking at his brother curiously. "We've got our friend possibly eating another friend and you're still thinking about fruit?"
Takeshi offered a little shrug in reply, not really wanting to get into that conversation. Was Viral weaker than them right now? Most probably, he was suffering from so many different things his strength had to be stunted. Were he healthy than that was another matter entirely. Of course too there was a little bit of pride that went into that, and admittedly or not Takeshi wanted to think he was stronger. It would be fairly disappointing if after all they had done Viral would get better and be stronger as well, they had worked their tails off and risked a lot to get where they were. Looking at Shu as he sat down the older boy smiled, nudging his brother's shoulder with his own gently. "No one is going to eat you, don't worry. Especially not Viral," he replied, nodding his head towards the door. "Besides, you're so hairy, he'd get a nasty hairball if he tried eating you. I doubt he's that hungry." It was tricky making a joke out of it, but this was the only way Takeshi knew how to try and simmer things down. Smiling sympathetically he shook his head at Shu's question, not being aware of that at all. He wasn't too sure how the jungle worked either way, he was more or less a city kid compared to his brother. "Like I said, no one is going to eat you, I promise. They'll have to go through me if they want to try."

Starving Viral felt like a lowly thing to do, but it might be their only option. If hunger spurred the transformation and food finished it then perhaps a lack thereof would make him unable to sustain the change. Or... Maybe if he ate more then he'd be sated and there would be no need for the form... It was a fine line and Vegeta didn't know what side they should stand on. If they could keep him in here and get more food then he could eat, it was at least worth a try. And that would certainly take less time than waiting for him to go hungry again. Looking back at his PDA he turned on the intercom out in the corridor, speaking into the device so the brothers could hear him. "Shu? Takeshi? Listen, I need you two to go get food. I've got a theory and we'll need more food for Viral to test it. He's a cat now, so don't be bringing fruits or vegetables, only meats, understand?" Hopefully this didn't backfire, as it was handling the Beastman was proving difficult. In a second it was about to become even more so.

The low growl was the first sign that something was amiss. Looking up from the PDA the Saiyan noticed Viral now circumventing Yumi, looking at him rather angrily. So he wasn't held in as fond regard as she was, shame. Vegeta stuffed away his tool for now, keeping a steady gaze on the Beastman to see what he would do. Rather than attack him Viral made a dart for the door, likely with the intent of breaking free. With his new size and strength that may actually be possible, the doors weren't nearly as reinforced as the walls were. Cussing beneath his breath he dashed over to the door, placing himself in between it and Viral. When a large paw reached up and swiped at the steel he reached out and caught it, surprised by the strain that came with halting the blow. Skidding back slightly from the impact he strained to try and push Viral back, placing his free hand on the Beastman's chest. "Viral... No. The boys are getting food, just wait!" he grunted, looking up at his friend. "Just sit down and relax."
