Tekkan winced slightly as he took 100 damage from Templar's battle against one of the Keepers.

"Urgh...Well, that sucks. I'll end my turn, then."

Keeper of the Shrine, huh...looks like he's playing Dragons, the youth thought. And big ones, too. Oh well, as long as I still have my trap active, he'll only be able to set his big monsters. He smirked, still confident that he could win so long as he had his Tyrant's Throes and something that was stronger than Drake's Defense Position monsters.

Tekkan was rather annoyed by how well the other duelist was taking his strategy. "Geez, would it kill you to at least try showing some emotion? Freakin' edgelord..." He grumbled to himself as he drew his next card.

"Next, I activate the Field Spell Card Ignition Phoenix!" As the youth placed down his card, flames sprouted from the ground and into the air, creating a bird shape in the sky.

"Ignition Phoenix gives all Igknight monsters on the field 300 additional ATK and DEF, and also allows me to destroy an Igknight card I control to add another one from my deck to my hand! And I'll destroy Cavalier so I can add Gallant to my hand!"

The pink Igknight gave a salute as it was destroyed, and Tekkan received a bulky, green Igknight in its place, which he promptly placed in his empty Pendulum Zone.

"And now, I'll Pendulum Summon all the Igknights in my Extra Deck back onto the field! Go!"

The red and green Igknights let out a whistle, causing the orange, purple, and pink Igknights to come back to the field, covered in the fiery aura of Ignition Phoenix, which gave them an additional 300 ATK and DEF points.

"Time for an all out attack! Let's GOOOOO!!!"

If all went as planned, he would attack the face-downs with Cavalier and Templar, with Paladin attacking directly if no monsters remained.

Tekkan smirked as Drake drew his card, officially starting his turn. "Yes! An opening! I activate my Trap Card: Tyrant's Throes!"

The white haired youth flipped his face-down card face-up, revealing a portly noble of some sort throwing a tantrum.

"While Tyrant's Throes is on the field, neither of us can summon Effect Monsters! All I need to do to activate it is tribute two Normal Monsters!"

Tekkan did as he explained, and the two Igknights saluted as they disappeared back into the Extra Deck. Tekkan grinned widely, proud of the maneuver he just performed.

"It's your turn now. Do as you please."

Tekkan smirked. His first duel at the academy, and he would love it if this first opponent, one who was way too overconfident, would snap at the face of defeat. "Sorry, but the grin is here to stay. I'll make sure of it!"

He drew his five cards and smirked at his hand. If he could get his main card to trigger, he had this in the bag.

"Alright, I'll go first! And for my first move, I'll place Igknight Templar and Igknight Paladin in the Pendulum Zones!"

As the white-haired youth placed his monsters, the ethereal form of an orange knight and light purple knight, armed with gunblades in the shape of a sniper rifle and a musket, respectively, materialized on the left and right sides of Tekkan's field, respectively.

"Next, I'll activate Templar's effect to destroy them both, and if he does, then I can add a Fire Warrior-Type monster from my deck to my hand!"

Templar signaled towards Paladin with his hands; afterwards, the two knights aimed their weapons towards one another and fired at the same time, only pieces of their armor remaining from the blast, which had sent them to the Extra Deck instead of the Graveyard.

"And using his effect, I add Igknight Margrave from my Deck to my hand!" Tekkan's duel disk swiftly ejected the card, which depicted a red armored knight with two riot-shaped gunblades, from his deck into his hand.

"Next, I'll activate Summoner's Art! This card allows me to add a Level 5 or higher Normal Monster from my deck to my hand! And I choose Igknight Cavalier!" His duel disk ejected another card, this time a pink-armored knight that looked like a ninja, with handguns that doubled as kunai.

"And now, for my final move, I'll place the two cards I added into the Pendulum Zones and Pendulum Summon Templar and Paladin back to the field!"

The two knights, red and pink, sounded a whistle which called the destroyed Templar and Paladin out of the Extra Deck.

"And for good measure, I'll set one card face-down and end my turn."

This'll be easy, Tekkan thought. Once his turn comes around, I'll immediately flip my face-down and shut down his entire monster line-up by tributing just two of mine! The thought made him grin as he waited for his opponent's move. Watch me, mom. I'll make you proud. I promise.
