Personality: Keaton is a rather irritable and short-tempered individual, but his heart is in the right place. He knows the importance of friends, family, and people who care for you in general, and is always willing to give those on good terms with him support whenever he can.
Biography: Keaton was born into an urban home in Castelia City, Unova, as the oldest son of a police officer and his wife, a television producer who was confined to a wheelchair. With his father often on duty and his mother in no condition for extended periods of physical activity, Keaton was the only one who was constantly there for his little sister Rena, who was 6 years younger than him. They would play games together, watch TV together, and other things brothers and sisters do together.
Keaton's mother and father wanted him to become a police officer as well or a lawyer, but one sleepless night, the 16-year-old Keaton awoke to a knock on his bedroom window. It was one of his classmates from school, and they mouthed to him through the window that they wanted him for something. Keaton opened up and climbed out through the window and followed his friend, who eventually led him to a group of thugs who offered to buy things his family needed around the house if he did typical thug work for them every night from then on. Not wanting to pass up a chance to make life easier for his mother and father, not to mention his precious little sister, Keaton accepted the deal and was given a Pawniard, his first Pokemon, as an initiation gift.
Due to not getting much sleep every night for a few years, Keaton soon became easily irritated and short-tempered, but never lost his love of his family. One day, having noticed the Pawniard he had with him, Rena, Keaton's little sister, suggested that he take on the Chromis Pokemon League that she had seen an ad for on TV. He was reluctant to do so at first, but figured that his precious sister was old enough to get by on her mother and father periodically being able to spend much time with her. That evening, 4 years after the incident that started his Pokemon experience in the first place, Keaton got on the first boat he could find bound for the Chromis region.
