@Genkai Hey, I posted in your general interest check, but I'll post here too. I'd be interested in playing Kenshin or Saito (or both). I've seen the series through Kyoto twice myself, so at most I would just need to refresh myself on the less important characters. I'm good with following the canon plot, or going our on direction. PM me if you want to discuss it further.

Hey there! Sorry about the delay, I had 3 tests to do over one weekend and it bogged me down...but I would love to do something with you. I'd say I'd love to chat more since I'd be happy with you as either Kenshin or Saito, and I've to know who you'd been keen for me to play as since I'm already getting some skills in most of the core cast. I should be on more this week since there is less work being thrown in my lap at the moment. :)

I really like both the situations you described and now I feel like a bum for not have thinking of something (or maybe writing it out to discuss) to share as well. I think I want to lean toward the second one even if there may be less fanservice, we did have a lot of that in our recent post. But I'm sure if we wanted, we could find a way to have some cuteness interjected. I think I'll do the second one and it'll be awesome. You're awesome for having thought of it though!

Will we be able to select multiple PMs in the future for bulk migration? Probably 99% of my PMs will be put into "trash" because they're old dead ends with people who I don't interact with anymore (plotting didn't go anywhere, for example). It's a pain to go through the numerous steps to move a PM, and I'm sure there are many in my boat, who need to clear out a lot of their accumulated PMs. I don't need the feature now but I'm sure some check-box on each PM would be really welcomed at some point. If it's planned, I can wait to mass delete/move PMs but if not I'll just take a few hours aside since that's about what it'll take me haha. But I am glad you're giving PM Systems some attention, thanks!

Thanks to Netflix I rewatched the first season of Rurouni Kenshin. Then of course I went to Youtube to go watch the second season, which I'm almost done with. I haven't seen this anime in over 15 years. It was part of my childhood, it's one of the shows that bonded me to some of my dearest friends who I still cherish to this day. Needless to say a show like this (among others) is near to my heart. Having watched it after so long, I must admit my feelings have changed. When I was younger, I though Kaoru was so annoying and awful. Not because I wanted Kenshin for myself but I saw her as useless. But now I have been able to see the subtle development from episode one to episode thirty and beyond. While she still isn't beloved in my heart, I am able to see her as a useful person who is held back the time she's in and what it expects of women. Other things I noticed were how Saito became very important and complicated and how Sano's emotional growth is slow since he's used as a comedic factor, compared to Kenshin's own serious stance on Shishio with Saito.

I digress.

The point is, I went back to something old (the music and design do hold up IMO) and was able to see it in a new, more rewarding light. As such I am tossing a line out to see if I can find anyone who is also wanting to do something with bloody blades and people who need help. I am not looking for OCs at the moment. If we have any, they'll be minor ones we use for our various side plots and quests. Right now, I want us to stick to the canon roles and have fun with them.

While romance should happen gradually, I have listed some pairs I'd love for us to focus on with direction and plot. I'm also into fleshing out any eventual sex scenes, so I expect my partner to be able to. Plus, if this is from your childhood like it is from mine, you should certainly be of consenting age and mature enough to deal with such writing. Things like blood, rape, drugs will also be covered. I mean Sano's close friend died of opium and I'm sure back in the revolution, women were raped. While I like slice of life, not everything is going to be happy and perfect.

Those characters in bold are ones I may take the role of. I also encourage us to double, if possible. A larger main cast ensures we can do more with plots and developing different relationships. Maybe a crossover would work, possibly between Samurai Champloo or Inuyasha or Yu Yu Hakusho?

I'd love to do something in season one. Yes, I know characters like Yumi, Sojiro and Saito and Misao don't appear until season two but we can fix that easily. I also know Saito is married but we can tweak that as well. This is our roleplay, there's no reason why we can't change the pacing and such. I'd love to work our way up to the Kyoto Arc and change things up. Or we can always start back at the very very beginning with Kenshin showing up differently than he did, depending on what characters we focus on and where we want to go. I would kind of prefer to pretend Tomoe didn't exist since I haven't yet gotten to that part yet, but it's up for discussion. If anyone is interesting, which is probably highly unlikely, let me know. You can watch season one on Netflix and you'd be fine to roleplay, I am fine with ignoring some of season two's characters and the main conflict of Shishio if need be.
