I'm bumping this because I have had three more people mention their interest and I want to assure anyone watching this, that I'm still looking for a few more folks since it's better to have more possible players since some tend to drop or change their mind. That might be a run on sentence...oh well if it is.
I've been off the guild for a few months, and similarly I'm looking for something to bring me back into the fold, (internship, not college) and this seems nice for that, so if you'll have me, I'd love to join this.
(This idea also seems a little SMT/Personaesque-- which I find personally alluring)

Hopefully the internship is a fruitful one! You're welcome to join, and maybe this can be the enticing RP that gets many of us back into the swing of things!

Interested as well. ^^

Good good!

Me! Me! Ooh! Boss! Pick me!

You look familiar...dad is that you? XD
That sounds good to me. Though the master won't be entering the tournament (probably finds it beneath him?) should we have his son be sort of the top contender, even among the other instructors who enter? I figure we'll need to focus on developing the main adversary and not worry too much about the others competing. So Ryuuto Tajima is the son. I do like the idea of the daughter (maybe they're both twins, around 16 or 17? Or are you thinking older?) reforming and seeing that her family's way of life isn't so great, possibly finding a friend in Yahilo and Kaoru.
The game is a real delight (sure it's aimed at people who are probably 10-15 years younger than me...) and the anime is just as funny. But I'll be sure to alter things and give the important information, should an OOC be constructed. I hope you do keep an eye on this though, I have another taker in another thread and even it's a small group, there's still plenty of adventures to be had!
Welcome aboard, be sure to take this Yokai Watch Maintenance Kit because lord knows, you don't need it malfunctioning when you're being chased by a horde of angry demons.
I am able to double up. I have no preference for which canon you play, whichever one you want to play the most. I don't really have any ideas just yet for the OC other than the warden being a human noble warrior.

Human nobles are fun. I could probably make mine an Elf, Dalish or City would work for me.

I'd say I'm inclined to try Leliana since she's a role I wouldn't normally find myself creating and it could be fun to go a new route.
@Genkai I'd love to do a Dragon Age RP if you're still looking. The one's that caught my eye were AlistarxOC and LelianaxOC.

Oh yes, always got time for DAO RPs.

For those two pairs, would you be capable of doubling up? And did you have a preference for which canon you'd like me to play as? And any initial ideas for your OC, you're welcome to share so I can figure out how to approach plot and such.
Alrighty!

So far we established our main characters will be Kaoru and Kenshin with the others being side characters we share. We also decided that we'll be up to the point in the first season where Yahiki, Sano and Megumi are already established companions. We have decided to start with a rival dojo having moved into Tokyo. They teach pretty shady practices and the students are becoming a source of chaos around the city. Soon a tournament is announced and Kaoru decides to enter it to prove her Kamiya Kasshin Style is better and more worthy of victory than the other new rival's.

We should probably focus on who the new antagonist is. I figure he's some sexist brute, probably travels from town to town to unleash his students upon wealthy targets while ending up recruiting some more skilled bad guys. Maybe he has a son or daughter who could come into play somehow. I don't see this 'arc' or 'episode' being a quick cut and dry turn of events. I figure we'll have the sign up, the training, some rounds, some other small cute but poignant events, then the final battle, etc. I could also see the money prompting some kind of trip somewhere. Maybe a possible next arc for the gang.

Thoughts?
Hello there.

I find myself relating to much of your post. I'm 25 myself and have had bouts of depression but thanks to therapy, I haven't had any real dark days for several years now. One day at a time right? But my point was, I know what it's like when you don't feel like writing or doing much of anything. I'll try not to take it personally if things need to be put on hold for a while, if need be. Of course I'm happy to lend an ear if venting/rambling is needed.

I'm on the cusp of finally getting out of college so I'm pretty busy with class, commuting, trying to find a job in the real world for once, etc. So I don't need posts to come too frequently for the sake of having a brisk pace. I've had RPs carry on for years with some periods where there would be months between posts because both of us had a lot on our plate. But I am trying to make more time for the Guild again, as I was once very active in the community and I do miss it.

Now in terms of my style...I do like to write a lot. I am an English major. But if we both establish a general range in terms of a post's size, I can stick to it. So if I need to edit and write a little less, I'm happy to do so, as long as I'm asked and not just dropped without warning after I spend a lot of time writing say, a nine paragraph post. I play either gender quite happily and also dislike when people seem to clamor for one gender without bothering to expand their horizons a little. Mature things are fine with me and now that I am older, I find I do prefer adding them in my stories a bit subtly.

And in regards to what I RP? Well I do like fandoms (movies, tv, books, etc) but I am also fine with something more original. If we did something that way, I do like fantasy and cyberpunk stuff. I'm a sucker for romance and slice of life. Mystery could be fun too though post-apoc and military things are a little outside of my comfort zone. I'm also not fond of roleplaying as animals, just not my thing. So if you're game for plotting, that's awesome cause I'd love to get some more 1x1 RPs back under my belt. If not though, that's cool and I wish ya luck all the same.
RP Premise:

Everyone at the Academy is in the middle of the Spring Term. People are gearing up to travel for the one week vacation but you and your friends can't really afford to do so, so you all decide to go on a camping trip instead. Everyone is assigned a different thing to bring. Booze? Cigarettes? Food? After all the tasks have been divided, you part ways and agree to meet at Mount Wildwood. There's a shrine but you don't pay it any mind. You know there are caves and a waterfall to explore. Sure, a kid, you stayed on the path but you're older now and bolder too, so you and your college friends are eager to do more than just behave during the trip.

The next morning, you all meet up and go into the wilderness to find a place to make camp. You can't help but feel though, like you're being watched. But by who? No one's really around the area. Soon enough everyone decides upon a place to set up camp for the next few days. Everyone heads to the river and for the rest of the day, everyone's drinking and snacking, forgetting about the tests and jobs they left behind. As everyone packs up to head back to camp, an old wooden box is spotted. Was it there before? Someone bets it's a severed hand but upon expectation, it's a bunch of watches.

Pretty lame.

Someone decides to put one on. After dusting it off, it seems it's more complex than any other watch that you've all seen. With the press of a button, the top lid of the watch springs up and a dim purple glow emits. The wearing holds up the watch to look through the lens and sees something beginning to take shape! It's...it's...it's a white dog looking thing with white swirls and claws. No one else sees it but when they finally put on the watch and activate it, they see it too. What is it? Whatever the watches are for, you decide they could make things pretty interesting.

Someone suggests heading over to Blossom Heights to ask the old guy who owns Timers and More if he knows what the watch's deal is. It's decided then. The trip is cut short as everyone scrambles to pack up and head down the mountain as the sun begins to set. Once it does, there's a distinct chill in the air. Before you make it down to the parking lot, a red eerie mist fills the pathway and you begin to hear loud thumping noises. You all look to see a large demon, nearly four stories tall, bounding for you.

The watches all begin to act crazy. Everyone begins running down the hill at full sprint. Stray items are being left behind in haste as you all climb into your cars and speed off, the large demon still running after you. After crossing the bridge into Blossom Heights, the mist fades and soon the heart rates even out. You all find Timers and More and to your surprise, the man says that the mysterious watches can let the user see demons all around them. He says you can befriend them and use them to fight or to solve life's annoying problems.

Maybe you can find a smart one to ace your finals?

GM Notes:

Hello. This is based off of Yokai Watch however I will be feeding you all core information so that you don't have to know the series (anime/game) and I will also be tweaking certain things to suit a roleplay setting. I am a full time student and I used to be active on here every day, however I'm 25 and am about to graduate college (finally, yay!) so finding time for this site isn't easy. I am trying to come back more frequently and get back into the habit. I still write and read (I am an English major after all) so by no means, am I not interested in roleplaying anymore.

I am hoping a group RP will get me to come back more frequently and get back into the habit. I normally have a sci-fi Group RP (a trilogy if you will) but right now, it's being the focus of my novels so I'm not sure I want to risk putting a lot of information out by roleplaying it. Of course that may change but right now, I want to do something very light and fun.

If you're interested, post here and let me know. I am going to assume when making the OOC though, that no one knows the franchise so I'll try to be as detailed as possible with terminology and stuff. I won't make an OOC unless I get a few hands in the air though. Also, characters will be college age, and I would like an even balance of males and females, with different personalities and assets. Just remember though, your character shouldn't be a jerk or a loner, this is a group of friends who know each other already.

RP Tone:

This is meant to be a fun adventure. At the core, this roleplay is about friendship, family and exploration. This will call for slice of life and I know many people rage against that. Let me just suggest how the RP will look though these all go hand in hand and tend to overlap:

20% Fighting/Combat

35% Slice of Life (going to school, spending time at home, doing homework, working part time, going to the park etc)

45% Exploration (finding demons, roaming, helping people/taking quests)

Again, at the end of the day this is about us and our characters having fun. We're not trying to make the most powerful squad of demons. If your character is though, that's fine. But as the group's goal as a whole, there should be fun involved. Think whimsy and charm. That is not to say, nothing bad will happen in this story. Oh no. There is danger, it lurks and it watches you very closely. There also bad demons, meddling ones that can ruin people's lives. It's up to our gang to make sure such negative events, don't happen too often.
