As she stepped off the boat Kelly could feel her new boots warping around her feet. She'd taken Dr. Grant's advice and soaked them properly to shape them to her feet before leaving on the trip, but the tropical heat of the island already had her thick hiking socks soaked through and she almost felt like she was wading onto the dock. Hoisting her packs up onto her shoulders, and grabbing her laptop carry-all with its myriad collection of connecting wires to make sure she could hook up to practically any hardware they came across, Kelly headed over to the only person who didn't seem to be busily unloading cargo off the ship.

@choraki

"Is that gonna be a problem?" Kelly asked Owen as she came up behind him, nodding up at the storm clouds over head. She was no expert on the weather but they didn't seem like the kind of thing she normally saw back in Bakersfield. As she waited for a reply the computer geek quickly checked out Owen's butt. It was nice and tight and along with the rest of him the trainer looked like the kind of guy who occasionally drew the girl's attention, when she wasn't barking up other trees.
Name: Echo AKA 'Elvis'
Age: 5 Years

Gender: Female

Species: Velociraptor antirrhopus nublarensis

Personality:
Echo is intelligent, but not as much as her packmates, with these trait she fell into the fourth place in the group hierarchy, behind Blue, Delta and Charlie. In her youth, she once battled Blue over control of the park's Velociraptor pack, but Blue was the victor and all Echo gained was a scar across her face. Her jaw became permanently offset from the battle. Due to her permanent sneer, some of the Jurassic World dinosaur handlers have nicknamed her "Elvis".

After being grievously wounded in the battle against the I-Rex Echo has become withdrawn, sullen and moody, occasionally snapping at her packmates for seemingly no reason. While some of the researchers have suggested that she might be suffering lingering pain from the extensive burns covering her belly and neck, no studies have so far been undertaken to confirm this.

Backstory:
Echo was recreated by InGen to live as an attraction of Masrani Global Corporation's dinosaur park 'Jurassic World' in 2010. When she was born Owen Grady imprinted on her, allowed him to train her. When she was young she and Blue fought for dominance over the park's Velociraptor pack with Blue being the victor, leaving Echo permanently scarred and relegated to the lowest position in the pack's hierarchy.

When the Indominus Rex escaped Echo and her sisters were used to hunt the hybrid down. But during the hunt, she and her pack mates began to communicate with the hybrid who revealed to them that it had raptor DNA, after it took Owen's place as the Alpha, Echo and her packmates turned against the humans. Echo and the rest for her pack later caught up with Owen, Claire, and the Mitchell brothers in Main Street where she and her pack had a change of heart and side with Owen again. Soon after the Indominus Rex arrived, and Echo's pack and Owen decide to fight her.

After being tossed into a barbecue restaurant's burners, suffering horrific burns to over 60% of her body, Echo's scent pattern was changed enough for Blue not to recognise her, and believing her dead she was left behind in the rubble after the battle. Luckily the restaurant was fully stocked with meat, which sustained Echo for several weeks as she slowly recovered from her wounds. Once the larder was emptied Echo was forced to head back out into the park to hunt, and soon ran into Blue and Delta, who had also survived the battle with the I-Rex.

Following a tense stand-off, as the other two Raptors tried to make sense of their heavily scarred and now scent altered former pack mate, Echo was finally welcomed back into the group. Her time apart from the others had affected her though, making her moodier and more withdrawn, and her ill-feelings have often caused her to clash with her companions when not actively hunting.

Notes:
  • Due to her colouration and build Echo was at first believed to be male, but checks by the Jurassic World veterinary staff confirmed that she is indeed female.

I'm surprised no-one used these as reference images for their characters:

Three women on the island, and they're all into girls? I say we get out a bottle or three of tequila, set up a video camera (for training and security purposes) and play a few rounds of strip poker.

Dibs on the Energy Sword. ALthough I think Idaho already called it IC.

EDIT: Is it bad that I just spent twenty minutes recolouring an excited, bouncing girl gif so she looked like Idaho? XD
Idaho's ears perked up as she listened to the briefing and when it came time for questions she began waving her hand in the air excitedly. "Ooh ooh! Can I have the energy sword? Can I? Huh? I promise I'll keep it charged and clean and... whatever!"

"I really don't think that would be the best idea," Theta chimed in, hoving over Idaho's shoulder. "You're likely to break something with it, like me perhaps."

Turning her attention to the hovering hologram with a frown Idaho glared at her diminutive companion. "Break you? How could I break you?"

Theta's projection rippled for a moment as his processing core pulled as many resources as he could get into contemplating the problem, before finally he nodded over to Idaho. "I think it would be best not to give you too much information on how something might happen to the chip implanted in your skull, in case giving the information precipitated a chain of events which would lead to the aforementioned event actually occurring."

Screwing up her face with confusion Idaho's only reply to the AI's impeccably reasoned statement came out as, "Say what now?"

Letting out a deep frustrated sigh Theta looked down at the moment, giving the impression that if he'd been human his face would be resting in his palm as his hologram once more began to blur and ripple. "Suffice to say," He finally continued wearily, snapping back into focus as his processing centre completed its assessment of the situation, "That it would be best for you not to know how things could go wrong. They're scary and I wouldn't want to upset you."

Nodding her head with comprehension at an explanation she could understand Idaho turned her attention back to the briefing. "So, distraction and chaos? Sounds like fun." Idaho said, slamming her fist into her palm with excitement. "And at the end of it all I get a glittery sword." She finished, her face beaming with a wide smile.
@Genni The thing I want is a debuff that impedes Sigma from attacking for a turn. Any kind of offensive action would be impossible to do not because of lack of ammo, but because of the weapon overheating. Running out of Ammo for Sigma would mean going back to an ammo depot and loading it up, as it works similar to direct ammo feed (like a bullet belt for a machine gun).
Sigma is inflicted with the Overheating status effect and must spend the next turn cooling down before he can attack?

That would work too, just as long as a status effect of some sort would be in play for me to use as part of the round resolution process.

I only used the 'Out Of Ammo' status because that's one which has already appeared in the game and has the same effect as you were describing, but if you'd like to use a different name then that's fine too. :)

Fireball: Flare concentrates and blasts an enormous ball of fire exploding and dealing the damage of a conventional attack to all targets in a large area. [Energy: 6]

If you're wanting a full damage field effect attack then it'd have to be a little more expensive unless you put some sort of limiting effect on it as well.

You could either put the cost up to 10 Energy, spend another Skill Point and lose the +5 Health upgrade you'd be wanting or add a status effect like 'Extinguished' which would prevent you from attacking until you'd spent a turn reigniting your powers. I would use the term 'cooldown', but I think in this case 'heat up' would be more appropriate.

Flame body: Any heat based damage that would be dealt to Flare is instead converted directly into HP. However he now suffers 50% more cold damage.

No problem with this, but if you're adding a cold vulnerability I'd also be willing to allow you to absorb 1 Energy each time Flare was hit by a heat-based attack as well.

Also could you make the vulnerability '50% (rounded down)', to make the maths a little easier for me? :)

I think @SimplyJohn meant this part:

Team Smash n' Bash will forever be greater than Team Infiltrate n' Eliminate!

I think Nici's planning on forming her own team, calling itself Team Puff'n'Snuff.

Team Smash n' Bash be tight like this

Team Puff'n'Snuff be tight like this:

Here's the T-shirt design:

For an extra $20 we could've had them bloodstained, but I told the manufacturers that we'll have that part of the design covered in the first five minutes of the mission.
There! Mayumi got hit by the attack and suffered the (no) consequences.
For a moment Mayumi was shocked at the effectiveness of her diversionary attack. She hadn't expected to even hit the demon child, let alone kill her! The moment quickly passed though as a howling banshee swooped in from the next room, screaming in despair at the invaders. Bringing her bow around and readying an arrow to fire at the woman Mayumi was caught completely unprepared as an overgrown ophidian leapt up out of the ground straight at her.

Mayumi tried to dodge back away from the beast but the monstrosity was too fast for her, its fangs sinking into her neck and coils wrapping themselves around the archer's body, dragging her down onto the floor. At first Mayumi tried to struggle against the snake's tight embrace, her hands wriggling against the smooth scales as she tried to reach for her blade, but then she realised there was no pain. Fear rushed through her at the thought of some paralysing agent already at work in her blood, numbing her senses, but as she twisted her head from side to side Mayumi could feel the fabric of her cloak rubbing against her skin. Unless the paralysing agent was very specific then it was unlikely she'd been poisoned.

Closing her eyes Mayumi drew in a breath and concentrated her mind, letting her brain take command over the senses which were being fooled by the sorcery. After a second Mayumi sat upright, and reaching out called her bow back to her hand. Around her the phantasmagorical serpent's coils simply faded away as the illusion was defeated, and Mayumi wasted no time rising back up onto her feet, gazing around quickly to check on her companions' state.
