The explosives are really harmless. If it gets detonated while you hold one, the max that it will cause its probably small bruises... nothing serious.

In that case Anya might want to replace the explosive with a thermite charge instead. Explosive would shatter the device, but may leave some components intact, while a thermite charge would melt the device, transforming it into a molten lump of slag metal which would be worthless to anyone wanting to salvage the tech.

Plus it'd be a little more discouraging to anyone attempting to tamper with one of them.

About the hum, I was thinking in making it audible... but what are your thoughts on the ThirdEye as it is right now?

I'd advise against making the hum too audible, since as it is Anya could plant the device on a vehicle or even a person without them noticing too easily. This could then be used to 'map' an area as the target moved through it, especially if she tagged a security guard or sentry working a patrol route.

All in all, its range is what will dictate if its too strong or too weak. What do you think?

From the way I'm reading the description of her perception augmentation, it sounds similar to Hinata Hyuga's genetic ability Byakugan in Naruto, where she has a full awareness of everything around her but with the additional option of focusing her senses in order to extend the range of her ability upto 10km in a certain direction. By using the ThirdEyes Anya does something similar, but unlike Hinata, who could just stand on top of a building scanning everything for 10km around her, Anya would have to find some way to deploy her devices to a location before detecting what was there.

This raises a couple of questions for me.
  • Does a ThirdEye need to be manually activated by pulling the pin, or could it be activated from a remote location after it had been placed somewhere earlier?
  • Can the ThirdEye be fired from her rifle, allowing Anya to deploy them at a considerable distance? If deployed in this manner, would the pin be removed as the device was fired, or could it be activated after reaching its target (or somehow being intercepted)?

If they can be deployed in this way, Anya would take on similar skills to Saito, the sniper from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, whose cybernetic targeting eye is able to be linked to satellite systems giving him 'perfect' aiming capabilities. Unless the feed is hacked and the target knows he's aiming at them, allowing them to avoid his shots as he makes them (as seen in the first season's second episode Bōsō no Shōmei TESTATION.)

(aka, if someone gets their hands in one of those and reverse engineer it) they can replicate it as well.

Without getting their hands blown off when the thing goes BOOM! you mean?

Considering making the low hum audible to everyone if one pays enough attention, so the device is easier to find (well... they'll know that its something strange the second they see it... lol)

Hiding it in something like a light fixture, which also generates a low level hum, should not only minimise the risk of it being heard but would also make it more difficult for someone to accidentally find.
The Third Eye is also equipped with a micro explosive, to destroy the device if anything goes wrong, or when the user completes its mission.

Is the Third Eye a unique item which would be lost if Anya ever has to use the microexplosive; something which she could replicate easily enough with sufficient raw materials; or something which would be available to anyone with similar contacts as Anya?

To an observer, a rotting dude waking up from a four-hundred year dirt nap would very well resemble a zombie, save for rot-touched retaining their humanity and not having to be decapitated to die.

Are there any 'feral' rot-touched, who've lost their rational thought and wander the wastes looking for undamaged copies of 50 Shade of Grey and Lifeless? :D

All the goblins..?

<Snipped quote>
Greenskin culture: Unfortunately, the answer for all of your questions is "It depends".

Technology: Excellent question. Aside from the use of ancient technology, we are in the iron age... Everybody but the wealthy have things only as nice as they are personally capable of crafting... There are broken robots walking around that were made in the first and second ages, as well as other working technological relics scattered about...

Radiation: Depends where you are, who you are, and what the plot calls for.

Greenskin appearance: The least hideous and deformed of them look like green people with slightly pronounced fangs/tusks.

So a character who is a goblin girl that grew up in a small isolated community of Greenskins located in a region of high radiation, which only her people can survive in comfortably (albeit with the odd malformed birth or unexpected tentacle appearing overnight) and who spends her time salvaging 'shinies' and 'glowies' from old world ruins to build steampunk devices which may or may not blow up in her face... would that be possible?

To be clear, I'm not talking about her building fully operational mech-style battlesuits, more self-winding crossbows or small things with clockwork keys that you twist and then listen for the popping of chemicals before throwing as far away as you can and darting behind cover before the cover becomes a crater.
I'd be interested in playing as a goblin girl, but would need to know more about the Greenskin culture before committing fully.

What level of technology do the races have, are we talking Horizon: Zero Dawn, or World of Warcraft?

How prevalant is radiation in the new world, is it considered a constant danger or an occasional nuisance?

How 'hideous and deformed' are Greenskins?
Also, now I will say that Pridania live in an environment similar to Ireland, with very similar accents. :3

Does that mean the countryside in Pridania is overrun with aos sí? :p

EuroMed can help with that. And for a small additional charge you can skip the statutory waiting period.
