I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

We should not provoke the bees. Who will then pollinate our berry bushes?

Make sure to plant some of the berries we've gathered in the ground a little to the east of the main hive. Great civilazations are built when bugs plant trees they will never feel the shade of, or something like that.

The bee tribe seemed non-agressive for as long as we stay in our lane down here, the beetles agree worrisome, but the spider intrigues me. It probably didn't have a web, seeing as it chose to engage us, but keep an eye out for more spiders. Webbing could be a very useful material.

Losing those guys might be a good thing in the short term if it takes some of the food pressure off us, but I agree with the other voices in our head. We must secure a reliable source of food if we want to expand and bring our skittering across the globe.
Maisy returned the head to the one armed knight, who seemed actually impressed this time. "You actually went out and did it?" He asked. "I didn't think any of the whelps around here had the nerve."

Maisy beamed at the scripted praise.

"Here." He said, extending a hand and giving her a rose pendant. "Show that to the knight master in the city of Rhea. You're too promising to stay in a backwater like this."

That presented a problem. She couldn't keep doing the night quest without going to a different city, but her freind had told her they should meet here at sundown.

The quest could wait. She still had a lot of time left in the day. She went back outside and practiced with that charge skill she'd gained, trying to control and turn despite the momentum.
It didn't take Maisy long walking along the road to come upon the ruined remains of a tipped over covered wagon, the canvas top torn and bloodstained and the insides ravaged. A few horses ambled around, grazing without a care in the world.

She stepped closer, looking inside the wagon, when suddenly a roar came from right behind. She spun around to see a large green man sprinting down the hill at her, sword raised. She yelped, bringing up her lance to brace herself for the monsters downward chop.

To her surprise he didn't hit all that hard. In fact, her arms barely moved and the monster stumbled back. Snarling, the thing leaped forward with a jumping stab to her gut and she leaped to the side, the feather talisman doing good work already.

Maisy decided to they using a skill. Gripping her weapon like a baseball bat she drew back, after a moment the weapon began to glow a soft blue, and then she swung. She caught the monster squad in the side and sent him flying into the destroyed wagon, splintering the thing and sending wood flying everywhere.

The monster exploded out of the shattered remains, caught up in the bloody canvas, and Maisy leveled her lance point first at him and activated her other skill. She surged forward, totally unprepaired for the sudden burst of speed. She impaled it, driving her lance deep into its chest and still going. The momentum carried booth Maisy and the monster tumbling to the ground in a heap.

She pushed herself up off the dead monsters chest, shaking her head to try and get her bearing, only to have the thing start to sparkle then dissolve under her, leaving only his sword and head.

She pucked up the head and looks at it in her inventory.

Gromosh the Marauder (Level 3)

She blinked at that.

Maybe she was a little over leveled.

How about this:

The Future is Now: Archer can teleport to any position he would be in up to an hour in the future. This doesn't actually moves him through time, just puts him where he'd be then right now.

Maisy nodded, following the woman back to town. She seemed able to avoid the monsters roaming around the field easily, and by shadowing her they were bale to avoid most of the fights.

They spilt up in town, the woman pointing out a particular NPC and telling her that the man would offer a quest that would help her get stronger. Maisy nodded as they parted ways, hoping she didn't do anything too dangerous as she spoke to the man, a large, one armed man in heavy armor. It was actually pretty easy to tell he was an NPC. Maisy though she had seen him before, standing in the same spot with the same forlorn look on his face, as he had been when she'd first logged in. Other players were around, huddled together or just waiting, but he didn't seem to be reacting at all. He was like a statue effected in the middle of a hospital waiting room, looking coldly over the boarded and worried people around him.

She walked up and he immediately locked eyes with her and started speaking a prepaid speech. "Greetings, young adventure. Not many have the fortified to pursue the path of knighthood these days."

Maisy looked around. There were about twenty knights just hanging around the town square.

"If you truly wish to do battle with evil, you must prove yourself. Bring me the hides of three of the Wild Wolves in the field, and maybe I'll think you have what it takes." The man continued. A text box popped up in front of her eyes, asking her to accept the quest. She accepted, and then another box popped up saying the quest was completed. "Hmmm, maybe your not so worthless after all." He continued as she looked on confused. Oh, right, she'd gotten those last night.

"Very well, I'll teach you some tricks, might just keep you alive longer." He said, and a series of boxes popped up, tutorialising his to distribute skill point. As she read, and clicked off the last one, the one armed man continued. 'Now, how will you train?"

She opened up the menu like the tutorial described and gawked at the skill points she'd accumulated. She was level 6 already, just from wandering around beating monster to death and doing this one quest.

She distributed her points in a few skills. One was for lance users specifically, a fast charge forward that enveloped the user in blue energy. At level three, e skill turned away non-magical projectiles, and could be used up to three times in quick succession. Another skill she bought was a general knights skill, where the user charged up a heavy swing with their weapon. The last two points she spent on a skill called fortify, which increased her defence in exchange for speed when used.

The man looked down apprasisingly for a moment. "All right, you seem almost like a real Knight now. You might be able to handle something a little harder than the either trainees. There've been a series of monster attacks on the forest road, been tearing up our trade caravans. If you can put down whatever beast is causing problems I'll almost consider you a success story."

Maisy accepted the quest and headed out into the field, down the forest road. A few of the players hanging out in town looked at her like she was crazy.
"Maisy." She replied.
Maisy nodded. Yeah. Yeah. There was no way this wasn't getting fixed soon. Having it confirmed like that made her calm down considerably, her breathing mellowing out to a normal pace.

She'd fought a good number of monsters, and she hadn't died yet. So, it stood to reason that if she kept playing like normal she'd be fine. "So, where do we go? Lead the way."
