@AsuuTy, it's half-based on an npc I made for my own rp, then I rwby-ized him and expanded his character a little, which I'm glad I've had the chance to do so now.

Name: Gavin Pheonix
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Appearance:
Personality: A serious, hard working young man with a drive to do well. He likes to help people and even with strangers, even though he can give the wrong impression with his serious demeanour. Gavin has a tendency to be a loner but doesn't mean anything by it, it's just what happens. The truth he really likes people and enjoys another's company, he just doesn't like saying it. However, if someone threatens his friends he can become extremely aggressive and is never afraid to start a fight.
History: Gavin has lived on his parents' farm for all of his life really until now. He lived happy, loved by his parents and enjoying working on the ranch, however that changed when the far out ranch was attacked by a grimm beowolf. Gavin's mother was killed by the Grimm until his father managed to shoot the Beowolf before it could kill more. It was odd that one beowolf would attack a farm however it had destroyed most of the farm, the livestock and killed his mum before it was slain. This forced them to move to the city of Vale where Gavin learnt the skills he has to now go to Beacon Academy, and further his skills to make sure he can protect the world from the fate his mother had suffered.
Semblance: Gavin can change the direction of his velocity at any time. In summary, it's kind of like Weiss's glyphs where she jumps off of them at speed, but there is nothing visible he is "jumping off of" or as versatile as her glyphs, only to change his velocity and it's direction, making him known for his zig-zag manoeuvre to and from enemies.
Weapon: "High Noon", a katana with a barrel on each side of the blade that fires shotgun shells, which are held by a custom bandolier across the front of his chest with a scabbard across his back for the actual weapon. However, the actual barrels are longer that it is in the picture, and the scabbard has a flip-up sight so the gun can be used two handed when the blade is sheathed.
