Current Memes aside, pineapples on pizza is ok actually. Being shat on for liking things different from other people gets old after a while.

Hazel Baker

Having returned before it was quite dark, she had decided to visit the library in search of information. Mainly, information on how to protect herself better, something that was needed considering what had happened in two of the fights she was in. In both, she had been injured due to the lack of protection. While her projections could protect her, it proved an ineffective defense should she be unaware of the attack, or unable to defend against one for some reason.

And thus the library.

While she was familiar with the concept of armour, she was unfamiliar with any types of armour, thus the necessity of hunting for any book with that information. There were several, but most of them were comprehensive treatise on armour, revealing things that wasn't really of use to her. While they were interesting, they revealed nothing about where to find one of those; she certainly wasn't about to get anything from the request form. Stuck in a rut, she asked the bored librarian instead, who pointed her to one of the empty computers there. After teaching her the basics of using a computer, he walked slowly back to his post, focusing his attention once more to the game console he was holding.

The computer was straightforward enough, as well as searching for a website that sold and delivered these sort of equipment, but choosing one was harder. The variety of items on sale was confusing her through the sheer volume of it all, some of which looked identical to her eyes. The librarian was dead asleep by this time, so she delved into a forum, asking for recommendation. Almost immediately she was answered by someone, who asked how much she was willing to spend. After replying she had just 500 bucks to spend, he went silent for quite some time. Enough to make her think he was unwilling to deal with that much money.

However, that was not the case. He returned soon after, proudly bearing a list of items that was on sale that day. Expounding the merits of the items in questions, and their reliability in their delivery, Hazel bought the items, and returned to her room very pleased with herself.

About a few hours later, she wondered if she should have told the guy what she was going to use it for.
I see. ^^;

How about I specify it has to be dead flesh from any corpse as well as add in that complex material uses more magic?

"Tch."

An old world gun? Here? The gangs that had access to gunpowder and guns β€” rare as they were β€” were formidable, but those who had access to old world guns usually ruled. Ruled until either the ammunition ran out, or until they get cocky and try to go up against demons. She had never actually fought any groups wielding one, considering how rare even the new guns were, but she was familiar with what they were and what they were capable of. For that thing to be carrying one was certainly surprising, but nothing she can't handle. But with her next opponent on the other side, the situation didn't seem to be stacked to her favor.

Quick as lightning, she exerted enormous pressure on the floor beneath her with her foot. With a large explosion, dust and fast moving debris again filled the air around her. The gunner was the more obvious target, thus the first one she dashed towards, keeping her body low to avoid any blind shots in the cloud of dust. However, after a sliding kick aimed to unbalance the gunner anon, she simply continued to use her prodigious agility to run into the large library filled with rows upon rows of shelves filled with books.

As her mother used to say, running was not simply used to get close to the enemy.

Fighting two skilled opponents at the same time was not her idea of a good time. The small gun was a problem precisely because its small. Had it been a much larger gun, the shells would be much more easier for her to deal with. Combine that with what seemed like a skilled close ranged fighter, and it was something she could not see herself walking out unscathed.

A fight with her life on the line, and maybe something worse if she did die. That machine, the one wish granting machine that ate souls in exchange, there will be no one to stop it. As it was now, she was quite torn between wanting to destroy it, and using it to find the other God Hand, even at the cost of the other participants' souls. While the rest was inhuman and not something she cared about, the rest of the contestants were. Having their souls eaten by a demonic machine wasn't something she could just stand by and watch.

Juniper had sought safety in the large library, where in her mind there would be several of possible outcomes. Most probable was the gunner and fighter would turn against each other and fight until only one of them was left, upon which she could swoop in and defeat them. The second outcome would be that they join together and either separate to cover more ground, leaving her able to take them down one by one, or group up closely, that she may have a chance to take them both down simultaneously. The worst, would be that both of them have a way of somehow exploding things, and explode the entire room with her in it.
Alice de Arcobaleno
Alice's house, Eastern field

@Asuras

Alice listened intently as Rider offered a counter argument of making bounded fields further away from the house. A bounded field that could not be detected was a mark of a good magus, something she obviously can do, but she was loathe to start working in the dirt outside. An outer layer of defenses however, did interest her β€” one can never be too cautious after all β€” and considering Rider's odd skill, perhaps there was something to what Rider was proposing. He was an interesting servant to be sure, but she had no idea of a hero that could summon up wraiths at will, or any heroes that might fit the description.

"Perhaps there is some merit to your suggestion after all. Very well, I will consider it." She sighed, and sat down on a chair. "I must admit, I am familiar with what wraiths are, but I've hardly any knowledge beyond that of their workings."

After all, she had had no interest in them in the first place, and neither did she had any real reason to go out of her way to learn about them in great detail. Alice was the current heir of her family's secrets, and she had a lot to do to regain some of her family's lost honor. A way to further their art beyond what they currently had.

"By your leave, we may head for the Overseer, if that is still your wish."

"OHOHOHO~!" Alice laughed suddenly, putting her hand to her mouth. "Whatever are you on about, Rider? Surely you do not expect me to expose myself in such a way?"

Rummaging about in one of the boxes, she produced a black haired doll about the same height as the blue knight puppet, with elaborate clothing, but with barely anything else in terms of armaments. It was a well made doll, perhaps overly so for a simple familiar. However, art was art, and she could not skimp on anything just because of that poor excuse. Her pride in her family tradition and method was readily apparent in each and every one of her dolls.

"This will go in my place. A familiar, so that I may visit and not expose myself to danger. If you wish, Rider, you can escort my familiar to the church. I do not expect any magus worth their salt to try attacking on the first night, not without their workshop and sanctum set up." She closed her eyes and leaned back on the chair. "No sane magus would act without a complete plan first after all."

Slipping on one of the copper rings, she took direct control of the doll. Frowning, Alice fussed over small details of the doll's dress, before finally making the doll move towards the church.
