Well I'd alike to think I'm used to my running speed and that maneuver would probably end up with me injuring myself in some way. Still I'm not super acrobatic anyway.

This is why I avoid jumping in the air, unless you're character has a Smash Brothers double jump or you can fly.

Personally I'd use a certain foot implement to radically change direction, but that's up to DJ The Magnificent.

Also, I take issue with your character's range now I think about it, there's no way he has over eight foot range, especially if he's wielding that sword two handed.

He's wielding it one handed. Remember one hand has to be free for sign weaving. His full range is actually almost ten feet overall, but that's well beyond the true edge of the blade. Wielding it two handed would be impossible from the angle. He only had to twist one wrist around after all.

If the attack was too slow it would still be incoming as Listia attacks, so in actually it would be far more dangerous to have a blade careening towards one's nether regions than being stabbed in the abdomen. In exchange she would likely get a hit on him as his attack is hitting her.

I did say I was going to hit someone in the fanny. Also that kind of force could break my wrist, thus the slow approach of melon is preferred. Listen to melon!
