TIME: Afternoon | LOCATION: Kumo | INTERACTION: @Ladyinink@Altered Tundra@BladeX@Eis@GlitchyBugger

"I think it's best if I stay here and watch over the hostages." Ryoko said, responding to Kiku. "I have the best abilities to free them if necessary and they would probably be the calmest and most cooperative if someone from there own village that they recognize was there to save them just in case." Ryoko recognized some of the hostages. Most were people she helped out when she was genin doing D rank missions. She felt awful for them. Being held captive waiting for help to show up just for some of the help to leave to do another task while the rest just waited for something to happen. She didn't just choose to be the one to watch over the hostages because she had the best chance of saving them if something went wrong. Although that was the most prominent reason. If they should fail at saving the hostages, Ryko wanted to be the one to take the blame. Not some foreigner from another village. She didn't want the potential families of the victims to blame another village for their loss. All of her current team members were going to try their best, risking their lives to save them. People not even from their village, and she respected them for it. The least she could do is make sure they didn't get the blame for anything should anything go wrong.

Ryoko slowly started to draw her special kunai from her sheath and pouch respectively. She didn't want to be seen as being aggressive to rescuing the hostages, but at the same time wanted the hostages to see that she wasn't going to let them get hurt. Ryoko turned to the rest of her team with her weapons now drawn."Any Objections?"

TIME: Afternoon | LOCATION: Kumo | INTERACTION: @Ladyinink@Altered Tundra@BladeX@Eis@Olira@GlitchyBugger

They arrived in the village after a surprisingly short but somewhat awkward journey. Ryoko spent most of the journey trying and sometimes failing to make small talk. She tried talking to Kaba, who just seemed to blow her off only wanting to talk about the battle plan and nothing else. Nadia spent most of the journey fawning over Kiku, and the rest Ryoko spent chatting about their abilities and who would be fighting where and how and all that stuff. Ryoko just liked to let the flow of battle dictate who did what. It just felt more natural to her than having a plan that couldn't work. However, she would try to follow the plan for the sake of the mission of course.

As the team walked through the village, the leaf ninja got some looks from the locals. It wasn't really a warm welcome back that she expected to get when she originally left the village. Ryoko just ignored them, right now all she wanted to focus on was the mission. It wasn't long before a Kumo ninja came running up to their team. He was clearly out of breath and in a panic. He could barely get out what he needed to say. He explained the situation and the team quickly headed towards the cafe with the hostages. Ryoko was thinking about how they would handle this. Would there be an opening for the team to attack and free the hostages? Should they just trust that the hostages will not be harmed and just negotiate? Ryoko nearly drove herself mad trying to think of how the others would react to the situation. Whatever the move they made everyone had to be thinking the same thing otherwise it could end horrifically. There was no time to talk about it now, they just had to get there ASAP.

As soon as they arrived, Ryoko positioned herself in front of Nadia blocking off her path to the enemy, knowing that she would probably want to be the hero of the situation and try to fight to save the hostages. Ryoko opened up her kunai pouch and slowly started to raise a kunai using the Manipulating Attack Blades to keep her hands seen while still being ready. At the same time, she loosed her tanto out of its sheath while placing her hand on her neck, being ready to draw it but still trying to look relatively passive. If things turned south she would have to be ready for anything. She waited and listened while Kaba demanded to know what the enemy was planning to do.

TIME: Past | LOCATION: Border of the Land of Fire

Ryoko was running swiftly through the forest across the border of the Land of Fire. She had to make it there before they were all gone. Suddenly she heard a bird cry just over her head. It was a messenger hawk from Kumo. Ryoko stopped and held out her arm for the bird to land on. What could have happened that could so important that they needed to get a hold of her? Maybe it was something to do with the Hokage's death, but she didn't know why that involved her.

Ryoko took the message off of the bird and began to read it to herself.
"WHAT?!?" Ryoko said a little too loudly to herself. They had ended her leave of absence for an emergency mission. She was to immediately head to Konoha and join up with a few Konoha ninja and escort them to the Kumo. "Shit! This sucks. There goes my training vacation... Unless the team I got stuck with are strong enough to spar with. Yeah that'll be good." Ryoko kept reading with a new excitement and eventually finished the letter. She looked back at the messenger hawk and noticed another package. She opened it and enclosed was her headband. She put it on a quickly resumed heading toward Konaha.

TIME: Present | LOCATION: West gate/ Konoha | INTERACTION: @Ladyinink @Eis @BladeX @Altered Tundra

Ryoko arrived in Konoha and met up with her her team as planned. As they introduced themselves, Ryoko took note on how strong each member of the team was. Apparently the ninja Ryoko was teamed with had worked together before. But what surprised her the most is that the be Hokage had sent a clone to join this team too. Ryoko didn't want to be disrespectful and ask to spar with other ninja's she'd just met. Especially in front of the Hokage. She would have to wait a bit longer.

The topic came up of who would lead the group to Kumo. One of the leaf ninjas suggested that Ryoko should lead them because she knows the area the best. Even though it was probably the best choice, Ryoko still felt a bit happy, for them being so trusting of her even though they just met. Maybe this mission wasn't so bad, maybe she could make some new friends too.

Suddenly a voice from nowhere yelled after the Hokage as they were about to leave, followed by a girl. Ryoko nearly jumped struggling to remain unfazed when she realized she wasn't a threat. The girl had her sharingan activated. Ryoko had heard of the sharingan before but this was her first time seeing them. They looked cool. She wished she had them. They would be good to have for improving her shurikenjutsu. But she was out of luck. Only Uchiha have the sharingan. Ryoko had heard stories of people trying to steal the sharingan for themselves, but that thought sent shivers down her spine. How would she feel if someone gouged out her eyes just to get a little stronger. Ryoko smiled as the girl ran towards the Hokage. The girl reminded her of a younger version of herself in looks alone, and also her late twin sister.

Ryoko woke up in the inn, sore and exhausted from the fight last night. It had a month since she had left the village on her leave of absence, and already she was getting bored from the fights she got into with the locals from the small towns she had visited. Last nights fight wasn't that bad. She challenged a group of drunk locals who looked like they could hold their own in a fight. She could obviously take them on one on one and win easily. So she challenged them to a five on one, with one arm behind her back. It wasn't as easy as she expected. The men were better than she expected. They actually had some amount of skill. The fight was done in about thirty seconds. She took some solid hits but hit back harder.

Ryoko got out of bed and headed downstairs, still half asleep. She had been bouncing around from small town to small town following rumors of powerful fighters that she could challenge. Almost entirely, disappointments, the rest not so much. As she walked out the door she heard something that got her attention.

"-the Hokage's Funural."

Ryoko's ears perked up. The Hokage's funeral? That was horrible news. She heard good things about the Hokage. Many people would be there. That was it! Many powerful people. That's where she would find someone worthy to challenge. She quickly ran out the door and headed toward Konaha. She'd have to hurry if she wanted to get there before they all left.
