By custom spells, I meant something like different varieties of them within the base game effects. Like a Bound Sword spell that summons up iron-quality instead of daedric, or a Fortify Attribute used on senses instead of the usual application.
Right so. Conjuration isn't a school of magic in Daggerfall. What a shame. Also, are we restricted to in-game spells, or can you jury rig together spells relevant to your character's knowledge?
Name: Ajax-Vei
Aliases: Chases-the-Horizon, Ocean-Scales, Walks-the-Shore, Scouts-Darkest-Depths (Current)
Age: 32
Sex: Male
Race: Argonian
Class: Bard
Skills
  • Racial Abilities: Claws and Tail, Histskin, Waterbreathing
  • Primary Skills: Dodging, Lockpicking, Long Blade
  • Secondary Skills: Climbing, Mercantile, Stealth
  • Spell List: See Equipment
  • Combat Style: Tsaesci Martial Arts. The dual-bladed combat style used by the vampiric man-serpents of Akavir. As stated by the Tsaesci Potentiate in the First Era to Emperor Reman Cyrodiil III: "We don't have shields in our culture. In our country, if you don't want to get hit, you move out of the way.” It is a style that places agility and skill to protect oneself over armor and shields. Traditionally, it has many flashy, acrobatic techniques, and takes full advantage of everything the practitioner has at his disposal, not the very least being that they have a tail and their enemies tend not to.

Ajax-Vei, having learned the style from a series of old documents in ruins hidden deep within Tamriel, has modified it slightly to suit his purposes better. He's stripped away or altered many unnecessarily showy techniques, and combined the style with combat doctrines gleaned from Argonian culture and his battles as a pirate - such as the use of guerrilla tactics and underwater combat, light armor, and sabres instead of katanas - as well as magic via the use of scrolls and enchanted objects found during his travels to 'bring the boom', both literally and metaphorically. In short, it could be said that he took a style well-suited to his race, haphazardly mashed together various loosely-related concepts, and come out of it with something that works surprisingly well.
Equipment
  • Weapons: Dual Steel Sabres, 5 Scrolls (1 Dispel Magic, 2 Fire Damage, 1 Shock Damage, 1 Tongues)
  • Armor: College Robes; Leather Pauldrons, Vambraces, and Boots; Cloak
  • Miscellaneous: Lockpicks, Money, Torches
Background: A pirate, a master of the Akaviri martial arts, a treasure hunter, a historian, an archaeologist, and a scholar of ancient knowledge - Ajax-Vei, currently known under the name 'Scouts-Darkest-Depths', has accomplished many things and experienced so much in his relatively short time on Nirn.

Like most Saxhleel he born in the swamps of the Black Marsh, on the 7th of the Evening Star. From a young age, Ajax-Vei had aspirations of becoming something greater than he was, of living a grand life full of riches and adventure around every corner. However, not everyone thought that this line of thought was a very good one, and they began calling him 'Chases-the-Horizon'. Originally it was a way to mock his so-called 'pipe-dream', an endless pursuit of something impossible to reach, but it soon caught on and became a name Ajax-Vei took pride in. His time in the Black Marsh ended when he set off alone from home into the wilds to sate his wanderlust, to chase that endless horizon.

Ajax-Vei travelled eastward until he reached Soulrest, along the southwestern coast. It was here he managed to persuade the captain to allow him to join the crew of the pirate ship The Storm Treader. Though his stay in Soulrest was short, the many lessons his naive young self learned there would last him a lifetime and save him a great deal of pain and coin.

The rest of his adolescent years - under the name 'Ocean-Scales', given by one who does not understand the ways of the Hist - were spent on the high seas, travelling all across the coasts of Tamriel, seizing goods from merchant ships and learning the tricks of the trade. It was all well and good, he had plenty of coin to throw around and his desire for adventure was adequately sated. Unfortunately their actions attracted the attention of the Empire, who proceeded to send a shop to catch up to them, sink their ship, take them all prisoner, and sail them back to Cyrodiil for prison or execution as necessary. However, Ajax-Vei managed to prevent this fate by reclaiming the ship with the help of his fellow crewmates. They had managed to secure their freedoms, but they were all still wanted men - even more so once news of their escape reached Imperial ears - so they were forced to go their separate ways.

After their great escape, Ajax-Vei aimlessly wandered the lands of Tamriel, taking odd jobs to keep himself going. He took up a new identity. 'Walks-the-Shore', the Argonian pilgrim/mercenary/whatever fits the situation. He had found a calling, and it was taken away from him. This existential crisis didn't last long, however. Ajax-Vei took up a relatively innocuous job. Escort a group of scholars into an Akaviri ruin and assist in locating new findings. Simple enough. Paid well too. Little did he know it would be the job that would inspire the direction of his life from that day forth.

With his new calling in hand, Ajax-Vei took to delving into ancient ruins and scouring the ends of the earth to search for treasures long-lost and knowledge forgotten, whether for himself, a client, or the highest bidder.
Where Are You: Alik'r Desert
Fuck yes.

Can I play a custom class (since Witch Hunter isn't present in DF)? Or alter an existing class?

EDIT: Also, maximum skills number?
It's Mamoru. He's the only one left.
James Minassian, Ryuudoji Cemetery

Aha! Now they were finally getting somewhere, both in the literal and the metaphorical sense. It seemed like they'd both decided upon using Ryuudoji Temple as their headquarters for the War. It would definitely be useful, especially with that Bounded Field funneling any spirits - Heroic or otherwise - into the path and front gate at risk of severe power reduction. Something - or someone - to cover that weakness would be useful to have, but they could deal with that problem later. It was only the first night after all. As for lodging without suspicion....

...Perhaps the head monk would suddenly have an 'old friend' stay for a while with his... Sister? Niece? Daughter? Screw it, he could figure that out later too, but there was definitely no way in hell was he going to introduce Caster as a Servant. Concealment of the Moonlit World aside, having a mid-twenty-year old man refer to a preteen girl as a servant, capital S or otherwise, would surely raise more than a few eyebrows. Digression aside, after that announcement, the aforementioned head monk would then leave on a sabbatical - monks had sabbaticals, right? Maybe a pilgrimage to some far off place would work better - sadly preventing anyone from asking about the details of their nonexistent relationship. Such a plan, even with all its kinks, would surely be both easier and more efficient than wide-scale memoy manipulation or mass hypnosis.

Now back to his Servant.

James looked down to see the little ball of energy smiling up at him. Did he miss something important? Was there a question he was to answer? A suggestion to praise or refute? Truthfully, all he'd manage to catch during his thought process was the bit about cake and temples, as well as a little bit about friends and demon summoning. The latter of which was significantly more interesting to him than the former two. Not knowing what exactly to do, James just returned the smile and hoped it made sense in context.

He then noticed movement from Caster's mouth. He'd have to listen intently now. What she said could end up being truly important, like what she'd said earlier.

...Nope. No it wasn't. Well, truth be told, the first bit was fairly relevant, but it went downhill from there. Just more talk about ice cream and kni- There was an idea!

"Hey Caster, wanna go out to town, see if we can grab some ice cream and fine one of those knights?" James asked, pausing for a moment to let his words set in before sticking his finger up in that 'not too fast' sort of way, "But only if we get all the preparations set up fast enough."

Archer, Fuyuki Streets

Archer thought on Hakuno's alternative plan. It was certainly more proactive than sitting on a bench with their proverbial thumbs up their ass, and surely had more of a chance to result in something beneficial. It also had a much higher chance of ending horribly, but it was a calculated risk. At least his Master - as low as her self-esteemed seemed to be - was able to see the value in not attacking the first person they see. Now if only she could be just a bit more sure of herself...

"...Oh, don't look so glum, you made a good plan," Archer said, "Good job, Ma- Hakuno."

Let it not be said that Odysseus didn't care for other peoples' feelings.

"Although, if we do happen to encounter any Servants and avoiding confrontation is no longer a possibility, I'd prefer to form an alliance... Or at the very least, a pact of non-aggression."

Truthfully, Archer left out the exact reasoning for this choice on his part, but his Master didn't need to know that he was doing this so there'd be less work and more play, so to speak, on his part. Dammit, he was a tactician, not a soldier! Well, technically he was a soldier too, but more so the former than the latter.

"Also, I wish to address the problem of a lack of disguise for myself," Archer added, "So I would like to get some clothing if the chance arises. They'll likely end up being very useful in the near future." Not to mention that remaining in spirit form was oh so boring. Practical, but still lacking the same freedom that came with a corporeal form.
Always join a Mal RP
Oh right. All this talk of Noble Phantasms reminds me of something. Do I have to do write ups for the magical relics and junk Odysseus can use? Y'know, to prevent ass-pulling on my part.
I imagine changing the title would be sufficient for the Durandal thing. You've got the sharpness and the three miracles are poorly defined (my interpretation version was three psuedo-Command Seals for Roland to do whatever he wanted) so your magic resist boost and your anti-magic could count as two of three. Maybe add a third effect? IDK. Still seems pretty weak for miracles though, and anti-magic was more Ruggiero's Balisard's thing in the Carolingan myths.

Stat-wise, Roland was basically the Lancelot to Charlie's Arthur. I'd definitely buff his physical stats. Especially END and STR. Roland basically held off an effing army and he had to suicide while Oliphant-ing to die even then (though, I guess all the defensive skills answer his tankitude, still he deserves to be a lot stronger than D++)

Edit: Ninja'd.
That is correct, yes.
