He was blissfully unaware of exactly why Ami thought she had to defend herself in the near future; he'd just assumed it was the same reason paranoid people did stuff. Though he knew Ami was careful, she wasn't the type to go plan for absolutely everything. He doubted her house had bulletproof windows or a panic room in her basement or anything absurd like that! She was probably just going for a martial art because of all the other uses that an art would have; discipline, physical fitness, that stuff.

"So why'd your dad kick you out anyway?" Hinata asked, tilting his head slightly to the side curiously, "Wonder what could be so important that he'd have you head over to my house instead of relax in your room or summin' like that. Not that, you know, the situation's unpleasant or anything. I'm just concerned. What if it's the Yakuza or something! That could be really dangerous! I hope he's okay... What did you say he did? Boss of a big corporation? What if someone's extorting money!"

The free candy bag to the face caught Claude by surprise, but due to the training he'd been put through, he was able to intercept the bag of candy. Though why the bag was there in the first place was rather puzzling, to be honest. A surprise, but not necessarily unpleasant. Claude opened it up and stuffed a hard candy into his mouth. Maybe this group wasn't as bad as he had expe- There it was!

'Longer than you, that's for sure,' Claude thought, rolling his eyes and scoffed at Castiel's idiotically arrogant question and obvious notion of superiority. Him? Die? What a stupid idea. The moment he dies, the moment he ends his family line. And there was no way in hell the Frenchman would let that happen; if he were to die, he'd damn well deserve it for letting himself die and failing his family. He grit his teeth and turned his hands into fists. Not good to dwell on that line of thought. Not good at all. Though he did crack a slight smile when their mentor started berating the bluenette.

Though, Claude did have to respect the girl's... Enthusiasm. Maybe if he had less tact, familial obligation, and restraint, he could've ended up asking that very same question. Being able to basically solo every mission he was to be assigned to would be perfect.

"A rodeo," Aoi answered with a long sigh. What? It was true, after all. Trying to reign them all in and keep them all calm and proper-like was basically impossible without the threat of not getting to eat any of Aoi's wonderful culinary artistry. Practically a testament to the fact that Aoi was just that good at putting together food. If he could say anything about being sickly and stuck inside for long periods of time, it's that it gave a great amount of free time to hone any particular skills. Too bad they weren't the skills Aoi wanted, though they did have their aforementioned uses. Finally realizing that Tabi left during his internal monologue, the meister shrugged and decided to head off to the classroom. A sibling feud wasn't something he wanted to get his hands into.

Soul Perception is a rare ability allowing a practitioner to do exactly what it says it does. Aoi was one of the lucky individuals with the ability in question and was currently going through his usual motions of keeping the ability active in order to keep himself sharp. Peering into someone specific's Soul an advanced application of Soul Perception. By focusing on an individual soul, a skilled Soul Perception practitioner can make accurate assumptions about the person's characteristics and Soul Wavelength. Par for course. However, what Aoi saw unnerved him.

A Soul with traits too similar to himself for comfort. But less... Adapted to society? Was that the vibe he was getting? Aoi's movements sped up, his morbid curiosity was plaguing him. Once within the classroom, he looked up and began analyzing Souls within the vicinity. 'There. Beside Sa-,' he cut his thoughts off and shook his head. Wasn't a good idea to be staring at his sister's partner. He could question him after classes. Or hopefully the teacher would assign them some group work that didn't end up having to be with their respective partners.

Though he did end up taking the seat directly beside Kiel. Just to be safe.

Ilya was forcibly pulled up by her meister like a limp noodle. There wasn't really any resistance, it was his idea to go to class. Besides, if she didn't have to use up valuable energy pulling himself off the ground, then so be it. "Thankies," Ilya said to Flint with a fake little bow before opting to skip cheerfully after her meister to the classroom.

Yeah, Aoi's more of a 'runner who has shitty leg strength but became a coach because he could imagine perfect running form'. He's a commander, not a soldier.

Though now that I think about it, Aoi probably could give Haru a good run for his money because of that.
