No no, they changed the meaning. 1984 is about republicans now. it is known.

Well, if the meaning's changed I guess it's okay. Progress is important.

This is some 1984, Brave New World kinda' shit.
Too much absolutes.

The assumption here is that a specific individual knows with absolute certainty that their position is correct and that the other person is incorrect.

Does said person actually endorse misogyny or homophobia or racism by the pure definition of those words?

X believes Y to be morally repugnant and racist for Z view because X believes Z view is racist.

Y believes X to be misinformed and therefore projecting T motive onto Z view that does not apply to Z view.

I suppose X could continue to believe Y is morally repugnant and refuse to associate them based on a presumed and absolute certainty of their moral beliefs. Or perhaps X could engage with Y and get down to the actual details of Z view without projecting T motive without data/evidence.

Personal Belief: Life rarely, if ever, works in absolute blacks and whites. Discussion is favorable to alienation and isolation because the individual mind does not grow without confronting an oppositional idea. X believes Y's views to be abhorrent and therefore Y is abhorrent, but without further discussion can X truly know that Y's views are abhorrent? I believe the answer is no. If X misconstrues Y's argument, X will never understand Y and will never truly know anything.
@Dark Wind@mdk I'd love to know what network/site/paper you consider reliable news.

Ive got no problem shitting on CNN, but you sort of begin to lose credibility if you think infowars, rebel media or fox news are the trustworthy alternatives.

It's hard to consider anything 100% reliable.

Jeez, InfoWars, I haven't watched that for like two or three years. Not anything against them or Alex Jones because there is good information you can grab from there.

Anyway, I browse Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, the New Yorker, Breitbart, Daily Wire, Drudge, RT, sometimes a little bit of Rebel.

Also, becoming an increasing fan of 1791L's YouTube content. The way he speaks/colors his coverage with tone and wording is certainly a bit slanted against the CNN viewpoint. However, I do find that he discusses content on a significantly less superficial layer.

My single law is to trust no one, but if the thoroughly researched and less conveniently twist-able evidence supports a perspective then it might be worth to support or look into that perspective and see if it holds water. Listen to all, and then begin to thread together the scattered pieces on your own.

CNN is a fucking joke. Is trashing CNN from now on "mildly political?" It's all I feel like doing.

Please do. They're such a garbage network it's amazing that even 33% of people find them trustworthy.
@Blitz

A man has many faces.

....
also it's probably the greatest video game line ever of all time
Let's get some more votes up in this house, peeps!!!!
Underrated:

The Darkness. Go check it out. Online blows, but it's one of the most entertaining story-centric first person shooters I've ever experienced.

Also, it provides one of the greatest video game lines of all time.

Overrated:

Going with perspective here. Modern Warfare 2. It received a ten, everyone loved it, but man, the online play was a serious step down from the original imho. This was the beginning of the end, you could see the signs of cookie cutter fuckery before the series descended into bleh.

Hex rollin' in clutch with dope looking OOC background story and art as usual.

Time to Xiahou Dun some Yellow Turban losers.
nvm nothing to see here
