My Italian friend just asked me if it's true that all Americans are fat. I'm offended but I can't stop laughing.

I always respond to OOC tags within 10 minutes, but I respond to PMs within 10 days. I don't know why- I suppose it's just because PMs are so easy to brush aside and forget about

I don't have any finals, but everyone else having finals is slowing down my RPs. Second-hand busyness.

I know it's time to go to bed, because I just started wondering if maybe the whole universe is a single cell on some alien's ass

If a tree falls in the woods and Fox news isn't around to see it, is it still Obama's fault?

Bio
I like to write things collaboratively.
And in the end, isn't that all you need to know to RP with me?
But I'd prefer if you'd make a vampire in a House.
We agree then, because so would I.
As I like to warn the poor G.M.s before I join an RP, I'm a slow writer and an even slower procrastinator, so I have no idea when the C.S. will be up... but it will be.
I am certain, however, that I will be joining the house of Ravnos. That's okay and cool with everyone, right?
Some introspection leads me to agree with you that a total sandbox is bad, but I still think it might behoove you to not use Fate and Invictus as such and either give them a more active role or opt for something else.
I'm still leaning more towards Kho's point on this subject, but I have to say that I support the idea of having a more active and involved Fate and Invictus, so not to cling so much to that line between sandbox and linear
Looks pretty good. I'd prefer them to be a little less war-centered though. Maybe throw something in about a new age of peace much like the one on Earth.
I am very glad you said that, because I was thinking the same thing
When I finish the "Species Description" section, I'll mention that there has been an, albeit slow and reluctant, conversion to a more peaceful society due to pressure from the Civil planets. Is that good?
She demands that the entire name and title be recited whenever a human addresses her.
Age: 73 Earth-years
Gender: Female, although gender ultimately means extremely little to her race, except when producing children for their House. They never even developed separate male/female pronouns.
Species: Klu-atonn, also known as the Grand Klu or Great Klu (Civil, although many experts argue that they should be reclassified as Savage; this is a fairly controversial subject)
Species Description:
Describing them in human terms can be... challenging. Klu-atonn look as if a mythological centaur, a Spartan soldier and a giant ant were accidently fused together in some horrific military experiment, then released into the wild for fifty years. They possess six strong limbs, a slithering tail and a muscular, lengthy neck- all shielded in a shining exoskeleton strongly reminiscent of bronze armour. The back four limbs end in golden horse hooves. The front two rear up into hands claiming three clawed fingers and a thumb. They are nine feet long and 6 feet tall, not counting a three foot tail. Obviously Klu-atonn are non-bipedal, non-humanoids.
Typically, their metallic exoskeleton encases the head and forehead, forming the "helmet" of this spartan's defense (are you starting to see where the armoured centaur comparison came from?), but a single, unblinking black eye and a superficially humanoid jaw remain revealed. Their lips and cheeks (as well as their hands) are formed with a gooey red flesh, which serves as the closest thing to "skin" Klu-atonn have outside their external skeleton. On the inside, rows upon rows of gold teeth wait above a barbed tounge.
It's fitting that they have natural bone armour and claw weapons, because they belong to a culture just as abrasive. A typical Klu-atonn will describe their society as perfectly honour-inspired, built for sacrifice. Likewise, any Klu-atonnian schoolboy can tell you of the Grand Revolution, an event that molded the Klu into the Grand Klu that they are now. According to the official history records, the Revolution has had a larger impact on Klu-atonn society than any other event. Even first contact with alien life completely pales in comparison.
On the Klu-calender, the revolution began roughly around the 6th or 7th Wave, 2nd Cycle, 300th Turn, 1st Era. Three thousand Earth years ago, for humans. There were virtually no reliable records at this time, however, so the history was communicated orally for well over two centuries before someone thought to write it down, and has thus likely suffered some exaggeration. Just don't try to tell a firm believer that. In fact, don't tell anyone that, because if one of this race hears that you questioned their "most glorious" history... well, let's just say it could become very hazardous for your health.
As the story of the revolution is recited, the Klu Homeworld was once populated by two "Foul Peoples"- other sentient races, that is: The first and most accepted of the two were the Lesser Klu, an "inferior sibling" to the Great Klu. Reportedly, they wore a more brittle exoskeleton, they lacked the poisonous claws that Great Klu are known for, and their height climbed only to a measly four feet tall, six feet long.
Following them in order of "purity" were the Klo-eatha. Klu-atonn history states that these were a twisted, deformed people, who walked on two legs instead of four, and bore their bones within. Modern biologists have now realized that this is a very clear description of a humanoid race, a discovery that has brought even more stress to the already strained diplomacy between Grand Klu and humanoids. ((To be continued))
Rank: First Rank
Role: First Rank Security Officer
Sexuality: Straight
ESP rating: Very Low (no ESP whatsoever)
Personality: Aackli is like a blunt weapon. She is aggressive, out-right and brutally honest with herself and her coworkers. Perhaps it's her time as a soldier, or more likely it's her fierce Klu blood, but war fuels her already hot personality like gasoline does a fire.
Don't mistake her aggression for evil, though. Aackli has a very strong and centered moral compass- moreso than most others of her people, in fact. She often feels alone in this, but it is a great hope of hers to one day see her people forget their past of blood and hate, to move on to a more honourable future. She does not believe as others do, that her race is superior to all others. She will never place her own safety above that of the crew's, and she believes strongly that it is her duty to serve the Jubilee. As far as Security officers go, she's as loyal and professional as they come.
Appearance: Bring the most over-stated, glorified, boastful, godlike image of a Grand Klu that you can think of to your mind. Imagine that six limbed warrior standing proudly over a battlefield, cloaked in it's flawless bronze exoskeleton, flecked with the brightest gold hooves and shiniest red lips you've ever seen. One might think that's simply Klu propaganda, but no, that's Aackli. She is ineffably beautiful by the standards of her people, but also athletic and strong.
Her exoskeleton is a very serious, very burnt shade of gold-brown, wrapped around her blood-shaded fingers and mouth, plus her bright hooves, which have been sharpened into deadly daggers. There's no light to be found in her dark eyes and claws. She towers up at six and a half feet tall, but she's only a somewhat stubby eight feet long, so you won't see her complain about it.
History: ((To be completed at my earliest convenience))
@Metronome I swear this will be the last question before my sheet
How does food work on out ship? Like, where do we get it from? Do we have food replicators, on-board gardens, or just tons of food in storage? I need to know because of my character's unusual diet
Perhaps later in the rp. I'd like to handle the first couple missions to set the tone of the rp.
I plan on doing 'episodes' if you will. So instead of dealing with one problem throughout the rp, our crew will face one, solve it, and we will time skip a month or so to the next incident.
Awww, alright.
For the record, though, I like the episodes idea: I was hoping we would be doing something like that, actually
@Metronome I have another question! I have a lot of these so be prepared
Alright, so it seems clear that once this RP starts, we will spend a good bit of our time dealing with aliens and space creatures and such (afterall, our mission is to explore the universe and meet alien civilizations, Captian Picard style) as they do in shows like Star Trek, Doctor Who, or Babylon 5. What I have to ask is: will you be taking suggestions for possible missions, NPC aliens and so on? Or do you want to handle and GM all of that yourself? I'm good either way, but I have a few potentially feasible ideas for unusual alien encounters, villains so our characters can fight something, and other weird shit that only belongs in sci-fi.
