Nano

Location: Academy Entrance
Interacting With: N/A

Nathan lowered himself gently onto the tiled concrete pathway directly in front of the Academy's Gate, his eyes telescoping onto the intricate engravings of the gate's metal. As he walked forward in awe, he felt the steady shift from a flat surface to a microscopic incline revealing what he assumed to be a scale, measuring his weight. Likely a safety precaution, he continued to walk forward and took in the faces of the people that walked past him. Due to his intricate memory, he would be easily capable of recalling the exact likeness of every person he saw, which would be useful in social interactions or identification. As he continued to walk, his awe inspired confidence withdrew as he noticed the looks of concern and contempt cast his direction due to his biologic nature, and lifted himself above their common glance and proceded forward through flight.

Lowering himself once again, but into a less trafficked walkway, he continued to take in the beauty of the surrounding architecture as he pulled the hood of his sweatshirt up. His outfit that day was rather simple, a pair of black jeans, his black converse, and a well fit dark-green hooded sweater. He recalled how often people looked at him in confusion while purchasing clothes, as if to say but robots don't have a sense of indecency, he had lost count of how many times he was forced to explain that he had things that needed to be covered up. After years of similar situations, he had finally lost the ability to retain his annoyances and simple began to retort "New Update, Siri will have it soon," before leaving, with or without clothing he had purchased.

Refocusing to the topic at hand, he found his ways walking towards a rather empty passway. Seeing that their weren't any people around, he happily lowered his hood, regaining his casual walking speed. As he continued to walk forward, he watched with interest as a girl appeared before him flashing different colors.(@RumikoOhara)
Alright, I'll work on my first post after I get off work tonight.

Name: Nathan Cooper Spica
Allias: Nano
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Parents: Angela Spica and Jack Hawksmoor
Powers and abilities: He is composed of Quantumly powered regenerative bio-nanos that he has control over. Allowing him the abilities of:

  • Nanite Knowledge (His Bio Nanites can store vast amounts of information, granting him perfect memory)
  • Bionanotech Manipulation (Capable of manipulating his own body, allowing him to fly and make physical changes to himself. Eg: He can morph himself around physical objects, such as bullets or knives, allowing them to pass through him without damage, Though he cannot do the same with non-physical attacks)
  • Enhanced Physical Abilities (Being composed of Nanotechnology instead of biologic organisms, he has drastically enhanced strength and speed)

Personality: Nathan has often been referred to as the "Warmest Machine." Although he is capable of Empathy and other emotions, he has limited access to them, and therefore isn't able to feel a range of emotions as broad as other people. He can be distant, cold, or naive in appearance due to this inability to properly feel all emotions, but he never intends to. Often, he distances himself from making friends or forming relationships out of fear that he will hurt them, causing him to be a rather content introvert.

Any chance someone could give a quick summary of what's happened so far?
Am I waiting for anyone else's approval?
@KatherinWinter Alright, Thank you.
So am I able to join?
@KatherinWinter I really don't mean to come off as rude, but if there was a section for weakness I would have filled it out. I left the possibilities open for interpretation from other writers, Such as @Vulture585. Just because I don't have active warnings for his weaknesses doesn't mean they don't exist.

And to answer @Vulture585's questions,
While he is primarily Nanotech, the Nanite cells are biologically fused. To take complete control of him would be possible, but extremely difficult. The aspect of memory storage could be manipulated, and anyone with technological telepathy or technically inclined powers would have an extreme advantage over him, as well as people with electromagnetic abilities.

Another weakness that I explicitly stated in the CS is that he is vulnerable to any non-physical attack. This means that he can be harmed by energy blasts, magic, heat vision etc. etc. He can't be hurt by getting stabbed, but aside from his regenerative abilities he's just as screwed as anyone else when Cyclops gets pissed off.

@Mistress Dizzy
He would be immune to Poisons and things of that nature, as well as not needing to sleep, drink, or eat. Unless stated explicitly otherwise, he is vulnerable to anything that would logically damage advanced technology.
@Caits@KatherinWinter@DFTBA

I made some changes to the CS, taking away his Quantum Abilities entirely.

Is this alright, or if not, do you have any suggestions on how to change him?
@Caits
I didn't mean for him to be a finished character, I wrote that as a broad description of his abilities. Just because those are abilities he has, doesn't mean that he has complete control over them.

wouldnt: Nanite Knowledge (His Bio Nanites can store vast amounts of information, so much so that every book on earth can be stored in a drop of his blood.) make school unnecessary?

If his only purpose for going to school was to obtain information then yes, it would. He's attending the school for training, for control, not algebra.
Also, just because he can store the information doesn't mean he already has it. The Nanite knowledge only acts as enhanced memory, like super-powered photographic memory.

Personally, I'm more concerned about the ability to control energy and matter, that is, everything that exists. Even the personality section says he's "infinitely powerful". Is that really a good idea, especially in an unstable character?

Again, I reiterate that just because it's within his ability, doesn't mean he has complete control over it and can use it as he pleases. For the time being he isn't capable of more than a few energy beams and absorbing radiation.
DC has a history of creating powerful characters, and in that history the only limit to their powers have been themselves. How powerful do you think someone afraid of using their powers can truly be? Aside from flight and enhanced memory he isn't currently too gifted, though a few years of trainer could change that, at his current state he isn't too powerful.

To reiterate the point to everyone across the board, he has potential to become a very powerful character, but he is far too untrained to be much of a threat to anyone but his own devaluing self-conscious.
