To all the homies in Florida -- stay safe out there. Now is not the time to wrangle an alligator and surf it down the flooded streets. I know, it's hard to resist the urge.

Bio

On the old version of the Guild I was the record holder for 'Most Infraction Points Without Being Permabanned'.

My primary roleplaying genres are fantasy and science fiction. Big fan of The Elder Scrolls, The Lord of the Rings, Warhammer 40,000, Mass Effect, Fallout and others.

Currently toying with three idea in my head for what Niernen does next. She can go with Hargjorn and Ashav to check out the Ashlander ship, she can go to the Kyne's Tear for some R&R or she follows Madura into the Dwener ruins in a mad act of desperation to reconnect with Do'Kart once she learns he's down there.

Thoughts?
I got supremely drunk with some friends last night and the expectation is that we will do so again this evening. I am in no state to finish the OOC now and probably won't be tomorrow, but after that it'll be up shortly. I'm already over halfway done, methinks.
I have to say I almost agree.
"Independent of the conventional Imperial Guard Hierarchy, Commissars are instead attached to the Departmento Munitorum's Commissariat and are formally part of the Militarum Tempestus."

There are plenty of examples of Commissars executing members of other military branches (like various PDF's) in disciplinary matters in the fluff of 40K. And you forget that Frateris Militia are technically civilians.

"The existence of the Frateris Militia is tolerated due to the fact that they have no formal connection to the Ecclesiarchy: they are no more than faithful Imperial citizens eager to prove their dedication to the Imperial Cult."

Thus, based on your own reasoning, John is totally subject to the authority of a Commissar.

EDIT: Not to mention the fact he's just been conscripted.
Castor watched passively with mild amusement as the Captain asserted her authority. Personally, he considered the show of force to be a little unnecessary considering the shitstorm these soldiers had just survived but it was not his place to question Captain Weiss' time and place to enforce discipline. He remained in the back as Junior Commissar Kata dispensed their new orders and threatened punishment (yawn, Castor thought) and his gaze lingered on her as she sashayed away. "She's far too pretty to be a Commissar, don't you think?" he mumbled to the Guardsman standing next to him, one of the Cadian survivors, who nodded emphatically and burst into silent laughter. Castor flashed the man a lopsided grin and started making the rounds throughout the gathered soldiers, leaning closer to the most drunken examples who stood teetering on their legs and told them to freshen up and get some sleep while Captain Weiss was interrogated on some trivial matter -- Castor heard the word 'banner' being used.

Eventually, his little walk brought him to John, the boastful challenger and apparent abhuman racist. The Commissar casually sauntered over to the big man and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Son," Castor began, his voice low, "it seems like you've just been conscripted into the Imperial Guard. Welcome. One of our rules, however, is that we don't fight our own. And that... goat over there, that you wanted to fight so badly, is actually one of our own. I know, it's a little strange, but they fight just as good as the rest of us. That's what matters. Don't you want to make the Emperor proud? Then work with these abhumans and the rest of us. Alright?"

The Commissar looked John in the eyes and nodded once, slowly. "Do the right thing. Get some rest. Be here tomorrow morning."

@Andreyich
Commissars are still Astra Militarum. They can't shoot me without getting into a lot of trouble unless I done something reeeaaaal bad.

Actually, they're not. Commissars are formally a part of the Militarum Tempestus as part of the Departmento Munitorum's Commissariat and are empowered to execute anyone that gets in the way of proper Imperial discipline, with the only exceptions I can think of being the Adeptus Astartes and the Holy Inquisition... for obvious reasons.
New meaning to the term Shitpost?

That's my secret, cap'n. I always shit when I post.
Outstanding. I will see about starting work on the OOC today.

More folks are still welcome!
Done and done, though I don't think it's as awkward as you thought it would be. Also, who is this Rena and where did she kill these penal Guardsmen, exactly?
