I honestly don't care what people think of me as long as a mutual respect can be reached to the extent of having fun with RP. :3

"Indeed" Kaite sighed, grabbing the bracelet and the pills before exiting in haste.

I slipped the wristband over my right arm next to my control band. I had no idea what its purpose was, although I respected its existence in the doctor's arsenal and regarded it with as much as I would the pills which I wish didn't bulge in my pocket as much as they did. I didn't need people to see me like...that.

Glancing over my shoulder to make sure Sel wasn't right behind me, I tore the packaging with a twist with each pill, distributing them amongst my pockets. It was a behavior that pill-jockeys exhibited in a means to hide their stashes, but I knew where to tuck them so they wouldn't show; having experience with catching a couple smugglers before my first jump...I am security...do I need to hide from myself? Why am I hiding? What am I so afraid of? Every camera and medical manifest has me on the record as leaving Sel's office with a grip of these pills. That in mind, I make a point to put them back into a single container for a camera to see. Less than entirely certain, I still proceeded towards the briefing room.

The door to the briefing room slid open to reveal Kaite in less than strictly formal appearance, a rarity. Although, it was fairly commonplace with most of the attendance that his attire wouldn't be looked into too deeply...besides the usual expectation of his presentation.
"Captain" He said with a small bow-ish salute in Rayland's direction. This confusion with formality was his ultimate downfall, since such displays cost his respect from newer recruits, especially on the eccentric spectrum who found such slipups 'adorable' .
Kaite swiftly made his way to a seat away from the others as a form of a test to see who'd sit next to him.
I'm gonna make a post now, actually. Sorry, I had assumed this RP wasn't going to kick off, but it just might. I have a similar aversion to being the first post, too. It's weird.

Atypical voodoo nonsense.
*Awkward high-five*?
The simple inflection of Sel's tone as she voiced her 'I see...' was enough to sober Kaite's demeanor. "It has nevaer happened before...alzough I vahs in cryosleep during my first jump" he explained before having his initial farce of a question thrown back at him. The answer was complicated, since he had spent sleepless nights looking into Triganavia after he was picked up by the Infamous Alto. The results were jarring and most of what Kaite knew was the claims of 'Crimes Against Life'.

There was never an explanation of what kind of crimes...or how deep they went.
Kaite shook, slightly, as he considered her second question.

"No..." I say, unable to vouch for my dead brothers as I was unaware what had been done to them or what/if they thought. "...I do not know anyone whom this has happened to, before" I continue, carefully picking out my accent to make my words clear. I had noticed the others' decline, but they were always different. I would say 039 lived the best of us, he wasn't burdened with sanity or thought...monsters have it good, that way. 042 simply stopped moving one day and his heart gave out...The others...

The closest I could sum it up is that they just...stopped.

Whatever happened to them, they were unwilling or unable to explain but it often went the same way.
Business as usual...and then nothing.
Did they think? Were they ever scared or confused?

"About what?" A voice perked up, a maintenance worker peeking out from around the examining table...Scott..."They were made that way-" he began, wiping his filthy hands off on an equally filthy rag tucked around his belt, "-It's not your job to wonder what animals think"
Kaite's eyes slowly drifted away from Sel to an unpopulated section of the room by the examining table. He looked like he was about to say something before softly sighing, his eyes narrowing, accenting the slight shadow under his eyes. He rubbed the bridge of his nose, one of his ear drooping to the side, slightly.

"And I guess while I'm awake, too..." he mused almost inaudibly, turning as if about to leave.
"It would help!" Nori chirped in reply to Ubel's first suggestion before continuing, "Maybe if we rip up a few trees and rocks they'll get landmarks wrong and miss the entrance that way." Following suit with bad ideas, unless they tore up landscape somewhere else other than outside the obscured enterance,
In their opinion obscuring the entrance was the best idea anyone has had so far, besides chasing down that incompetent buffoon. Frankly, Nori personally wanted in on what happened once the mob caught him, but unlike Henry, she had faith that they could get the job done well enough that it wouldn't be everyone else's burden, later.
"Humans like kids and the dying for some reason, putting them in peril would make it worse..." she mused, already scrambling her hive throughout her hall and sparsely in the area around it.
Fair enough.
EDIT: Change the color of Scott's dialogue to distinguish his words from what Kaite says.
Yeh, its mostly trying to say the lines in a french accent and writing down how it sounds. As you've seen, it doesn't come out nice, sometimes. Heck, some words wouldn't look anything like what they're supposed to if I was going for a thick accent.

Heh, at that point, I'd might as well just have them speak the language.
I'll likely post a few hours after you.
Sorry, weird thing about being the 'first' post.
He was quiet during the question, nodding his head, slightly distracted by the light.Even still, he snapped to attention at the mention of his gender. He looked a combination of shocked and confused as he carefully asked, "What do you mean, 'huh'?" taking the time to adjust his tie. The question wasn't phrased like they were insulted, but rather a genuine air of inquiry. Believe it or not, most people simply respected his rank and appearance and left it at that. This in mind, such questions were never really asked by most of the crew.

I could see her looking at my file. She may be a different species with different anatomy, and that was exactly why I made sure to get it right that she was a 'she'. Not to sound racist, but the Vexi don't have many distinguishing characteristics to define gender. At least, none that I could pick out of a lineup...especially if they wore an armored bodysuit like the good doctor.

His ear flicked from the snap of her fingers, slightly dissatisfied by the answer although accepting. She was the doctor and was expected to know such things...as well as who they were talking to *cough*.
Kaite kept most of his personal systems on standby when he wasn't using the, preferring the retro morphing-cube screensaver to a blank screen when he took too long doing something else; it felt more inviting, like the computer was just doing something else in its spare time while waiting for him to come back.

After the flick of his ear, he gave Sel time to respond before he said, "Around zeh time of zeh jump..." nodding as if agreeing before continuing, uneasily, "...I...saw..."

Gawd, this is incredibly silly. I shouldn't be here wasting the doctor's time.

"...I mean, iz zee whole thing vith sleepwalking-" Kaite trailed off, dismissively shaking his head although inadvertently referring to the conversation they just had about the difference between sleeping and fainting.
Ehhrr...Didn't intend on holding up the line >_<
What are other characters up to, or did people settle with the timeskip? Regardless, I'll try to keep posting up and get through the exchange.

Sorry.
Kinda? Some words and phrases work better than others. I try to shape it around sentence structure but accents are weird and don't play nice unless you commit to the point where it becomes legitimately hard to even read. His accent isn't that thick, and I try to reason it as 'slipping' occasionally.
