And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

Bio

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.

I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
  • I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
  • I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
  • I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
  • Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.

Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!

Hey @VKAllen, I noticed that you have not told me what the second Favoured Enemy Humanoid type would be, given how goblinkind is considered a subcategory of humanoids and how the Favoured Enemy works with that. If you have, I'm sorry that I've missed it, but could you tell me?
Trear's words were met with a nod which in turn was followed by the woman shaking her head. "As much as of a sanctuary that could be, we cannot leave without knowing whether the rest of our family got to safety... we were separated..." she swallowed in the middle of her sentence and continued: "besides, who knows if the attackers have people out there. I trust in the strongest walls of Greenest... the keep. We almost made it there too and I hope to find the rest there." At this point she turned around and spoke to the man with the children: "Cuth, are you and our children okay?"

Now that the woman had spoken of the keep, like someone had asked it to, the beating of the dragon's wings parted pillars of smoke in the east to reveal the keep of Greenest from among the destruction. As far as the heroes could see, the keep itself was still in good shape, and was that...? No, from this distance none of the party could tell if a fight was going on nearby. The dragon seemed to avoid assaulting the place, so there could well be resistance still in place.

The man, apparently called Cuth, turned to the woman and answered as soon as he got himself together: "I am the worst off in this Linan. The kids are okay", the man replied. As soon as he had answered, the man noticed something going on, that being the healing of Orchid. These people were something else... "Linan, do you think these people would help us get to the keep?" he asked his wife, who bit her lip in response.

"I sure hope so...", she answered, hoping the adventurers would volunteer. Even after... no, especially after them having already saved their lives, Linan was hesitant to ask for more.
The main thing in the stabilisation was the missing Wisdom(Medicine) check, but this seems different enough to warrant replacing it with a performance check. I also like the originality of it.
I am unsure what was used to stabilise Orchid, but okay, I'll grant it.

Next thing is, if anyone wants to have some actions/words in before the commoner answers (Orchid might want to faint and all that, being unconscious at 0) now would be an opportune time. I'll seek to advance this by tomorrow morning.
If you'd like to do a short post like that, I don't see any reason not to. It'll keep some movement in the game while we are waiting.
Seems like the combat is done! However, I would still like to see the next post being from @VKAllen, given how Trear is the last one to act in the initiative order before Orchid's turn. If they stabilise the Half-Orc, all is well. Otherwise, Orchid will have to throw at least one Death Saving Throw. Not that it'll probably matter, but mechanics are mechanics and it's good to ascertain the rules early. Also if nobody heals/stabilises him quickly, while unlikely, more saves will have to be rolled. After that, it'll be back to the non-combat where no set order exists.
The bard called for the kobold's attention again. It wanted to ignore the words of the only adversary to be close to it's own size, but it was unable to do so as the insult towards their revered leader pierced it's mind. This was too much for the already strained mind of the creature and it fell down onto the ground. The difference to the rest of the fallen was that the creature's chest kept rising and lowering steadily, so apparently it was still alive. You could never be too sure with these things though.

Now that with the imminent danger was dealt with, our heroes were left with a family of frightened, but immensely grateful commoners and the two figures that were having a forced nap. The armed woman now turned to face the remaining participants of the battle, but placed the bottom end of the weapon against the ground and straightened her back to make for a less threatening appearance. "Thank you", she mouthed, barely containing tears in her eyes.

Well would you look at that. We are done with the first combat encounter soon, with only one of the opponents remaining. Next up, Parum!
The dagger wielding kobold had neglected to keep it's rear guard up after having to turn against the big green threat and it didn't even notice the attack that ended it's life. It was all over in a grunt and the sound the blade sang as it cut the air prior to the strike. Only one kobold was left standing with a sling in their hand and while they were scared to be facing this group, it wouldn't do much good for it to try turning and running. If their arrows wouldn't get it, the dragon lady sure would. The kobold dug it's heels into the ground and breathed deeply. This would be it's last stand.
Yah, for convenience's sake, let's say that Relentless Endurance can work like that. The attack sends you reeling, but on your initiative you can rise up from the ground. Note that this is both a positive and a negative thing: You may not end up burning the skill for nothing, but on the other hand you lose half your movement to stand up after being prone. Or if you'd like, when you are reduced to zero hit points you can just notify me and I'll change the storytelling accordingly. Whatever goes.

And yes, the commoners are seeking to keep their distance.
